Chapter 3409: Savior
Chapter 3409: Savior
"The Savior?" Alex asked.
The Savior was a figure mentioned in many prophecies around the world. Bai Jingshen had mentioned it to Alex back in the Land of the Blessed Sun, alluding to the fact that Alex might be the Savior.
There was no proof he could provide. There were no prophecies of the Savior within the Beast Realm, or they were just not as prevalent as they were in the Human realms. As such, Alex hadn’t heard about it since the first time.
And now, he heard it again.
"That’s what she believes," Bladedance said. "You are the Savior everyone is waiting for, which is why she is inclined to help you."
Alex couldn’t help but put on a mocking smile. "So what? I’m both the Destroyer and the Savior? What am I?"
Bladedance shrugged. "Does it matter? Use the help you’re getting."
Alex paused and nodded. There was no point in attacking the woman’s beliefs if it stopped her from throwing him to the Storm God’s people.
"There has to be a reason why she believes that though, right?" Alex asked. "I’m curious what made her change her mind."
"From what she has mentioned, it had something to do with her chat with Goldsteel."
"Goldsteel?" Alex asked.
"Uhh... the Weapons God."
Alex remembered the sight of a young man, younger looking than even him, that chatted with him in the heat of the situation back in the Medicine World. He was one of the only few people that didn’t seem outright against him after the information of him being the Destroyer had gotten out.
"I see," Alex said slowly. "He somehow convinced her?"
"Sounds like it," Bladedance said.
Alex wondered what it was about their interaction that had made the Weapons God believe he was the Savior in that instant.
"So, of the 33 Gods, 2 believe I am the Savior, huh?" Alex said. "Well, that still leaves 31 that may be up against me. Err... 30. The Artifact God may not be against me either. That reminds me, I need to meet her when I can too."
Bladedance narrowed her eyes. "The Sky God isn’t going to do anything to you. And from what I hear, the Alchemy God is fond of you as well. That’s another 2 gods you don’t have to worry about. 3 actually, since Moonspirit doesn’t involve himself with anything outside of himself."
"So 27," Alex said with a dry laugh.
"You’re not counting me," Bladedance said.
Alex blinked. "Master, are you still a God?" he asked.
Bladedance was about to answer, but she stopped herself. "Yeah, probably not. I lost the status to Purplerain already. But I’m going to get it back soon. My cultivation is slowly returning to what it was, so once we arrive at the Sky God’s Palace, I will give a formal challenge. It’s highly unlikely he will show himself, considering no one has seen him for the better part of a millennium. So I will have to win by default."
A look of hatred flashed in her eyes when she said so. Her hands were itching to bathe in the blood of Purplerain.
Alex could sympathize with the feeling. He too wanted to kill Purplerain. Although, he had to admit that he felt a stronger desire to kill him because of Godslayer, rather than himself.
"Did you know he was the one that brought up the idea to send you to Hell?" Bladedance asked. "He must’ve had extras from back when he sent me to Hell."
Never mind. Alex wanted to kill him just as much as anyone else now.
"Do let me know if you find him. I would like to be there when he dies," Alex said. "I also have something important to ask him."
Bladedance narrowed her eyes. "What is it?"
"Godslayer, or uhh... Steelmind, gave me his memories. In his memories, I saw that Purplerain was there when he died. He was attacked by the Sword God, Saber God, Weapons God, and a host of other people. Most of those are dead according to the memories, but Purplerain is still alive, along with someone else that I have no memory of. I need to ask Purplerain about him."
Bladedance nodded. She had long since known about Godslayer soon dying and passing along his memories to Alex as inheritance, so this didn’t come as a surprise to her.
"And his memories don’t include this person?" she asked.
"It does, but... the man alone is missing. It’s like someone purposefully redacted just the man from the memories," Alex said.
It was similar to what he experienced with the Alchemy God too, to a point that Alex was certain they had to be the same people. So finding out anything from here could help him find something there as well.
"Any information to go off of?" Bladedance asked.
"Just that this person was a Death Sage around the time Steelmind died."
Bladedance narrowed her eyes. "A Death Sage? I was a little too young and self-centered around that time, so I cannot remember any. I’ll see if I can find anything about him from the Beast God. If not, Moonspirit would know."
Alex nodded.
Bladedance rubbed her forehead in frustration. She had thought things would be simpler now, but her disciple had gone ahead and become a Half-God.
"I should return to my cultivation," she said in the end. "Soulmother should look after you in the meantime. Message Battlesage and let him know you’re here."
Alex raised his eyebrows. "Right! I completely forgot about him. Where is he? I needed him rather urgently, actually. I need to fix the state of my Soul Space soon."
"He’s doing what he left Hell to do," Bladedance said with a smile. "Roaming the world. Seeing everything that Hell didn’t have."
Alex chuckled a little, imagining how excited the old man must be to see the world.
"Oh right! That reminds me of something else I must do soon," he said as soon as he remembered. "The people in my Soul Space. I need to find a place for them to get settled in."
