Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3412: Soulmother

Chapter 3412: Soulmother

"The Demonic Trees?" the Beast God said with a raised eyebrow. "I’m surprised you’re aware of what they are. Did the Sword God tell you about them?"

"I’m afraid it was one of the beasts in the Land of the Blessed Sun who told me about them," Alex said. "I do not believe the humans keep records the same way, or share them as freely, so it’s hard to learn anything from most of them."

"You’re not... wrong, I suppose," the Beast God said. "To answer your question, it’s both a coincidence and not at the same time."

Alex held a curious look, waiting for her to continue.

"The Sacred Jade Lotus is considered one of the best, if not the best, plants around to improve one’s spirit. You are an alchemist, so you know that too."

Alex nodded. Although his knowledge was more geared toward making pills with the plants, the knowledge was still there that the Sacred Jade Lotus had great healing effects for Souls and Spirits.

The Spirit Cleansing Lily could be considered slightly better, but it stopped being useful after the third use, while the Sacred Jade Lotus could be continuously used no matter the amount.

Its effect dropped drastically when one became an Immortal, the realm where one’s body and soul entered perfect harmony, reflecting each other, which made it difficult for the lotus to affect it in any substantial way.

At that point, there were many other pills one could use instead. But if one were to ignore pills and look at the plants alone, then there was likely nothing better than the Sacred Jade Lotus at all.

Nothing, except, of course, the Soulmother Tree itself.

"The Soulmother Tree, however, would easily surpass the Sacred Jade Lotus if it were around," she explained. "Some say merely cultivating around it is enough to see improvements. If you consume the petals of its fruits instead, they say your soul becomes impossible to destroy. They say you can replenish your mental energy many times faster than normal. That you can gain Divine Sense as just a mortal."

Alex listened to those words with quite a bit of interest. Whether any of that was true or not, he couldn’t tell for certain, but it was certainly fascinating to hear it all. Maybe there was even a kernel of truth in there somewhere.

"Because of my body constitution, my Master was fascinated with the possibilities of what would happen should I ever get a chance to cultivate near the Soulmother Tree or if I ate its fruit," the Beast God continued. "She said it so much that I just picked up the name unconsciously. When it was time for me to choose my name, I had already decided upon it before I even realized it."

Alex nodded slowly. "So it was both a coincidence and not, huh?"

He was quite fascinated with the origin of the name. He didn’t fully understand her body constitution, and he didn’t dare ask about it either, but it was fun to think about the possibility.

Would she be a Half-God today if she had the chance to use the Soulmother Tree?

’Well, profession-based gods don’t become Half-Gods,’ Alex thought. ’And who even knows where the Soulmother Tree is hiding?’

Thanks to the Tree of Life, he knew the Soulmother Tree wasn’t dead. But it didn’t know where it was. Had someone found it already and hidden it away in some secret realm?

That was certainly possible.

"Well, I hope I’ve fulfilled your curiosity," the Beast God said. "If you have any more questions, feel free to ask."

"No, that’s all, Senior," Alex said with a light bow. "I will certainly ask again if I do have any other questions. For now, I just wish to rest."

"I will have someone show you to your quarters," the Beast God said, standing up from the balcony. "Will everyone be needing separate quarters, or—"

"They will be staying with me, Senior. Thank you."

The Beast God nodded and walked away.

A while later, a half-beast in the Divine realm came to show Alex where they would be staying. The room he received was a simple one with not many decorations within it.

Alex had to agree that these sorts of rooms were the best for cultivators in the end. He was endlessly fascinated with rooms that had expensive furniture, paintings, and tapestries, but when all was said and done, a simple room devoid of any distraction was what he preferred.

The three beasts returned to his Soul Space, which was a perfect place for them rather than this room.

Once alone, Alex immediately began looking into his body again to search for any changes that he might have gone through since his arrival.

The unique energy he contained was in such a volatile state that it was hard to tell when it would grow and when it would stop.

He closed his eyes, focusing on the Dantian, and was immediately surprised to find that the overall energy flowing into his Dantian had more than halved now.

It had grown quite a bit just before he teleported out of the Land of the Blessed Sun, so having it drop again was a surprise.

’Why did it drop?’ Alex wondered. Surely the beasts there hadn’t stopped believing in him as the Sun God, had they?

That was pretty much impossible in such a short amount of time. Even if some new information had come to change their beliefs, it wouldn’t be so sudden.

Then...

’Does it have something to do with the fact that I’m not in the Land of the Blessed Sun anymore?’ Alex wondered.

He saw the possibility of distance being a great factor in him gaining the energy. Did that mean that if he wanted to improve this energy, he would have to get people to believe in him as the Sun God in every place he went?

"Well... that’s going to be difficult," Alex thought with a nervous laugh. He could only hope that he was wrong about that.
