Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3459: Nine Yang Court

Chapter 3459: Nine Yang Court

"The Nine Yang Court?" Bladedance said with a curious look as Alex finished reading the text.

"Yes," Alex said, still quite surprised by what he read. "It seems they worship the Sun God, which they believe to be the Nine Yang Divine Tree."

Bladedance remained silent, not immediately saying anything. With the Wine God beside them, she could certainly not speak freely about the tree.

"I wasn’t aware that was what the Nine Yang Court was for. I truly thought those fanatics worshiped only the tree, but it appears it was the Sun God they worshiped."

Alex nodded. He hadn’t realized that was the case either.

"It’s not a well-known fact," the Wine God said. "And the members of the Nine Yang Court certainly do nothing to change people’s understanding of what they exist to do."

Alex turned toward the Wine God. "Would you mind telling me some more about them, senior?"

The Wine God nodded.

"The Nine Yang Court is the oldest human organization that is known to men. They are said to have existed before the beginning of the war, but it is unclear if that is true or not. They are certainly old enough that even records from tombs from ancient times hold records of their organization existing for a long time."

"They are more of a religious group than anything, who do nothing but worship their god all day. They don’t involve themselves with the material world, and certainly do not care what happens to the rest of us. So long as they can go about their days and worship, they are okay with letting the entire world burn."

Alex stared with wide eyes.

"They are idiots," Bladedance said with a frustrated tone to her voice. "Cowards even. Their organization may not be the strongest out there, but it is certainly powerful enough to be feared by all. And yet, during the time of war, they helped not a single time."

"It wasn’t until the war came to their doorstep that they were finally forced to act, and even then, all they did was get the others to fight for them."

The Wine God nodded to the side. "They are more interested in protecting their numbers. They do not have the best reputation, so it is difficult for them to gain any more followers. If they lose some, it is a permanent loss. And they do not want that."

Alex frowned slightly. "If they are so interested in just worshiping their god, who they believe to be the Nine Yang Divine Tree, why did they let the Sky God take it away?"

The Wine God raised an eyebrow. "You’re aware of that?" he asked.

"It’s because the Nine Yang Court, the realm where the organization exists, is far too secular. It is also close enough to the Demon realms, which is why the war came to them."

"After the death of the World Tree, those bald-headed bastards feared retaliation on their own tree, so they did the best thing they could think of to do in that time. They gave it to the Sky God to be kept safely in the Sky God’s Palace," Bladedance said as a light chuckle escaped her lips. "We all know how well that worked out for them, don’t we?"

Alex grimaced slightly.

"The tree is indeed missing," the Wine God said. "I’m surprised you heard about it already, senior. I only learned a millennia and a half ago."

Bladedance nodded, saying nothing else.

Alex read through the remaining pieces of information and found nothing but misinformation or stuff he already knew about. What he specifically searched for, mostly the names of the abilities of the Sun God’s body, he couldn’t find anywhere here at all.

Perhaps he would have to ask Heaven about it in the future.

But Alex wondered if he should really waste energy on something like that. Or if he could just wait until he met the Sky God, who would likely know more. Or perhaps he could meet the Nine Yang Court as well. Surely he would have to meet them if he was to return them the Nine Yang Divine Tree.

The Wine God left with the books and was gone for a longer while this time.

Alex mulled over what he had learned and remained lost in thought for a while before the Wine God returned once again. This time, the haul of books he brought over was much larger than the two times before.

As the old man placed the books on the table, Alex paused for a moment, wondering what these books were about. Bladedance had asked for all the books, and he hadn’t kept track of what would be brought out.

However, upon reading the text on the book’s cover, Alex immediately realized what these were about.

Masters of the Death Dao.

These were the books about the Death sages. About the man who was responsible for the Artifact God’s death.

"These are all the information I could find on the Death sages. You asked for ones from over 200 thousand years ago, but sadly there were more than a couple of Death sages during the times of war, and their exploits go quite deep," the Wine God said. "If you find anyone specific that fits who you are looking for, please tell me about them and I’ll find something specific to them."

Bladedance nodded. "This is enough for now. Thank you." She turned toward Alex next. "You are the only one that can tell if these Death sages are the right one or not. I have not the slightest idea at all, so see if you can figure them out."

Alex nodded and picked the first book.

The very first name in the book was Duskcorpse, a master of the Death Dao, the woman who would go on to become the Death God.

Alex remembered her deathly looks from Godslayer’s memories and her interesting connection with the Alchemy God.

Even though she wasn’t the one he was looking for, Alex was interested enough that he continued reading.
