Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3488: Run Away

Chapter 3488: Run Away

In the presence of a Divinity, Alex knew he could not take any chances. The world around him slowed down, with the soldier thankfully not moving yet.

Either the man was surprised by him not getting stuck in the frozen space, or he simply didn’t care that Alex could move, as he believed there was nothing he could do.

That allowed Alex to focus his attention on Hao Ya, watching through the surrounding space to lock onto the stationary one.

With 5 Space Daos under his belt, and having learned so much from the Voidgate, Alex somewhat understood the Dao of Stationary Space. It was far too complicated even now for him to possibly learn the Dao anytime soon, but with what understanding he did have, it wouldn’t be impossible to manipulate it in some minor way.

What he would require for that was a strong Intent, backed by strong spiritual energy.

That was why he ate the pill.

Alex focused on Hao Ya, using his Intent to thaw the frozen space, to get it to move along with the regular space.

Like a needle pressing into the back of his eyes, a sharp pain formed in his head as he pushed his Intent onto Hao Ya, but that couldn’t stop him. He could already sense it working, so he had to continue.

The broken shards of space around her reduced suddenly, like a glacier suddenly losing its momentum. And then, it stopped altogether.

Alex caught Hao Ya before anything else could happen to her and placed her into his Soul Space. The pain in his mind peaked at that moment, nearly causing him to shout, before he let it go.

And then, the pain was gone.

Alex let out the breath he had been holding, taking in the feeling of relief.

That lasted but a moment as the Divinity moved toward him. Alex turned, sword in hand, and swung at the man. The man brought out a whip that crackled with lightning and swung it at his attack, destroying it.

The road next to the explosion cratered, while the Grand Spiral Auction Hall on the other side shone with a bright glow as numerous formations came alive to protect it.

People screamed in panic and began running away.

The soldier was troubled. He had expected things to go smoothly, but Alex had thwarted his plans. And now, he had already drawn the attention of the other Divinities.

Several of them had already checked on the scene with their Divine Sense. A few of them from the auction house had even come out to deal with the situation.

However, upon seeing the Sky God’s armor on the soldier, they hesitated. They looked toward Alex next, and there was a glint in their eyes.

’Shit!’ Alex thought as he could foresee what was going to happen next. He could not hope for their help, as they would certainly try to capture him.

The Storm God’s reward was too much for them to pass up.

The best thing Alex could do right there was to call for help and run away. The others could deal with the soldier.

But then the soldier could likely go into hiding, and it would be difficult to find him again. Alex had to keep him occupied until someone came to deal with him.

Not to mention, he had already eaten two pills for this situation, so he might as well fight the man. That would be a good way to figure out how strong he was compared to most Divinities.

"Goodbye!" Alex said, teleporting immediately.

He arrived a few hundred meters into the air and flew away.

The soldier, believing Alex had in fact run away, prepared to chase him.

"This is the Sky God’s business. Please do not interfere," he said to the rest of the Divinities before slowly turning toward Alex.

Alex was flying away with tremendous speed, but it didn’t seem to matter for the soldier. Two glowing blue wings sprouted out from his back, crackling with power.

The wings flapped, leaving behind a thunderous boom, and the man propelled through the sky at a speed that was beyond what was possible for a regular Divinity.

Alex turned around just in time to see the man flying toward him. Even as he slowed down time, the man was almost as fast as him. He saw the lightning wings behind him, a little concerned by them.

Was that a part of his armor?

The Sky God’s armor that he remembered from Godslayer’s memory held a similar shape, and even came with wings as they were made from the Primordial Roc.

These were most likely based on that armor.

The slowed time didn’t change the fact that the man was faster than him, so it was only a matter of time before he caught up.

Alex wouldn’t give him the chance. He vanished suddenly, turning fully invisible while he used his Yang aura to completely hide himself from the senses.

The man stopped where Alex had disappeared and looked around in search of him. He was now over a kilometer high in the sky, so Alex could have gone in any direction.

Just then, something slammed into the back of his head. Blue aura sprang out around his head, the armor blocking most of it. Still, a wave of pain followed.

Alex moved away immediately, still invisible, as he watched the soldier react. The armor had blocked the physical strike, which wouldn’t have done anything even if it had gone through.

But it appeared that it wasn’t designed to block spiritual attacks. And with how strong his spiritual energy was currently, he could actually make a difference.

’I have a shot!’ Alex thought.

He teleported again, hitting the man from a different angle. Once again, the spiritual damage of his attacks passed through. Before Alex could attack again, however, the man brought out a helmet that matched his armor and wore it.

"I was going to give you a painless death," the man said slowly. "But you’re going to make me enjoy hurting you."
