Chapter 3568 Obsidian Pillar
Chapter 3568 Obsidian Pillar
For a moment, Alex couldn't help but sincerely wonder if Godkiller had been a True God as well. But having learned so much about him by now, especially from Bai Jingshen, he was quite sure that he was not.
Bai Jingshen did speak of something that allowed the man to do practically anything he wanted, which, while similar to the True Gods, wasn't exactly that.
'It's close, but not the same,' Alex thought as he slowly came to the understanding.
He looked toward the Divination God, who still stood right there. Alex bowed toward the man, thanking him for his answer.
The Divination God gave a curt nod and finally walked away.
Once the door was shut behind him, Alex slumped down on the bed, many thoughts roaming through his mind.
He had come here to take some time to rest and cultivate before meeting with his family again, but so much had happened in the span of a few minutes.
The Divination God had entirely destroyed any chance of him finding peace for the next few days. His mind was going to keep roaming again and again for a few days still.
Alex got up and sat cross-legged on his bed as he started cultivating. He let his mind roam free, his thoughts crossing infinite space and eternal time. The visions of the future still swam in his head.
If what he saw was in order, then the next one was the bald people he had seen.
'Bald…' Alex thought. 'Nine Yang Court?'
That was his only guess, so it seemed that it was guaranteed that he would be meeting them at the very least.
Days passed in a flash, and a week passed by. It was only then that Alex's mind had calmed a lot, with all of his thoughts under control.
Now that he was finally calm, he only just remembered that he had promised Liz that he would talk to the Divination God about her Creation.
He felt so stupid for having completely forgotten it, but in his defense, his head could hardly stay still with everything he had learned from the man in that small period of time. He would have to meet with him again sometime and talk through that thing in its entirety.
There was a knock on Alex's door, and Ronron's voice came from outside.
"Father! My Master wishes to see you and the others," she called out.
Alex walked out of his room a moment later. "The Sky God is asking for me?" he asked.
Ronron nodded. "I will gather the others, and we will leave shortly."
Alex followed Ronron as she went around calling out to the rest as well. Pearl, Scarlet, Whisker, Hao Ya, and Battlesage grouped up with Alex as they were all called by the Sky God.
"What does her Brilliance want with us?" Battlesage asked curiously.
"Everyone who stays in the Sky God's palace for some amount of time gets to take part in a tradition that is upheld to some degree in here," she said as she led the way.
"What tradition is that?" Pearl asked with great curiosity.
"Talent testing," Ronron answered. "My master wishes to test every one of your talents."
While the others gave some looks of confusion, Alex's eyes brightened slightly with understanding.
"So that's what is happening, huh?" he asked. "I look forward to it."
Ronron gave a brief explanation of what was going to happen next, as well as the amount she had gotten. Her talent of 89 was the second-best talent that was on record. If there was one that was better in the past, then its record didn't exist with the Sky God.
The first, of course, was Helen with a mind-boggling score of 93.
"Aunt Hannah received 100, but that doesn't count," Ronron said.
"Hmm, I wonder what my talent is," Hao Ya said with a curious look. "If master's system was to be trusted, it was of Celestial grade, so I'm quite curious."
"I look forward to it as well," Battlesage said. He welcomed anything that was a new experience with a smile on his face.
Ronron grinned, watching everyone's enthusiastic smiles. She then turned toward Alex, her demeanor changing slightly. Her voice lowered, becoming a small whisper.
"I talked with Master about the pill just as you asked me to, father," she said.
"Oh? What did she say?" Alex asked. "Did she reject it?"
"No, she hasn't rejected the idea, but she hasn't given me permission either," Ronron said. "She wants to learn more about it first before she makes the decision. So she wants to talk with you and figure things out properly."
Alex nodded slowly. "That's understandable," he said. "In that case, I will talk with your master and hopefully convince her."
Ronron nodded in thanks.
The path they took didn't lead to the main palace they had been to before, but rather a different location somewhere to the back. It was a relatively open space inside that looked quite similar to what one would find as training fields if this were a sect or a family ground.
At the center was a large black pillar that was seemingly made entirely of obsidian.
Alex walked closer, getting a better look at the crystal pillar, but he couldn't see anything that he could make sense of based on just his initial glance.
"That's the test?" Alex asked.
Ronron nodded. "You place your palm on the surface of it and wait. It gives a near-perfect result each time," she said.
Alex looked back at the crystal, trying to see if it was an artifact. Or was it a sort of formation or script that was hidden?
Or…
'Why does this remind me of the pillar from back in the trial?' Alex thought. There were two crystals during one of the trials that could only be activated or deactivated by Alex or Shumi respectively. They were also cylindrical pillars, from what he remembered.
'If that's the case, then it might be something completely different from anything I'm used to.'
