Chapter 1692: Ancient Corpse Puppets

Chapter 1692: Ancient Corpse Puppets

After drawing every Evernight Duke’s attention, just then, the sky above the First Battlefront suddenly darkened, and an overwhelming pressure descended before four terrifying auras approached simultaneously.

Every Evernight Earl instinctively looked upward; even the battling Evernight Marquises became solemn.

Three enormous figures slowly emerged from distorted space.

The first was a hominoid war-forged colossus, towering and broad with dark, hardened flesh stretched over a frame that looked more like armor than a body.

Jagged bone protrusions lined his shoulders and arms, while faint runic scars glowed across his torso like sealed wounds. His corpse flames burned deep within hollow sockets, and he was carrying a gigantic bone axe!

He was none other than the Corpse Puppet of the First Bone Corpse, and this corpse belonged to an extinct race of the Abyss, the Bloody Abyss Barbarian!

The second was an ethereal humanoid covered in countless translucent feathers. Its body seemed neither physical nor spiritual. Every feather reflected countless illusions.

Its pale silver eyes possessed an unnatural suppressive force that made even experienced Abyssal Lords feel their thoughts slowing.

This corpse puppet belonged to an extinct race of the Abyss, the Moon Mindfeather. According to the ancient records, it was said to naturally dominate spiritual consciousness, and its corpse alone was an immeasurable treasure.

Controlling this Moon Mindfeather was actually none other than the First Corpse Commander as well!

As the strongest among the Corpse Commanders and just below the Corpse Governor, the First Corpse Commander has the ability to control two Corpse Puppets at once.

But this also means there were two of his slit souls inside those two puppets!

The third figure caused the battlefield to tremble, resembling an enormous abyssal scorpion. Yet two gigantic beast heads grew from its armored body. One resembled a grotesque bear, and the other resembled a wolf!

Each mouth continuously devoured the surrounding Abyssal Qi before its countless scarlet eyes radiated endless savagery.

It was an extinct species, the Twin-Devouring Nightmare. A bloodline worthy of envy even among Kings, and it was controlled by the Second Corpse Commander!

Finally, the fourth figure slowly stepped from the void.

It was a humanoid formed entirely from crimson flames. Yet those flames emitted freezing cold rather than heat, and space itself crystallized wherever they walked. Every footstep left frozen crimson fire lingering behind.

It was another extinct race in the Abyss that no one had heard of, and only ambiguous records remain. The Crimson Netherflame Revenant!

Another race believed extinct since the Ancient Abyssal Wars. Its corpse had been bought from the Central Repository by the Third Corpse Commander, and he had refined it after hundreds of years of seclusion and spending countless resources.

Right when the Crimson Netherflame Revenant showed up, in the corner of the Evernight Earls and Corpse Generals battlefield, Ace under Kharon’s guise instantly felt a strong desire rising from deep within his cultivation heart!

Ace was startled as he immediately looked towards the crimson-flame humanoid, and the desire in his cultivation heart grew even stronger. He quickly realized where this desire was coming from, and he was astounded.

’Does the Demonic Black Spirit Fire Seed want to devour that thing? It’s even stronger than when it reacted to Spirit Fires!’

Eva also noticed Ace’s strong reaction, and her eyes narrowed as she looked towards the three Corpse Commanders.

Now, three top Corpse Commanders with four ancient corpse vessels had shown themselves, and the battlefield instantly became deathly quiet.

Even the Dread Duchess slowly rose from her throne, and for the first time since the war began, a rare hint of seriousness appeared within her devilish eyes.

Especially when she looked toward the First Corpse Commander’s ethereal vessel. Even she could feel the natural suppression radiating from that ancient race. It directly affected spiritual consciousness, and any ordinary opponent would’ve already fallen under its influence.

’Those corpses! They seemed to belong to special abyss races, and even the Evernight Council may not have full records of them. It’s just like what happened when we first entered this place, they had been hiding these ancient corpses, didn’t bring them out until they were pushed to the corner!’

Despite feeling the gravity of the situation, her expression behind the mask remained indifferent, and even her lips curled up slightly because, since they had bought out their cherished ancient corpses, it meant they were already at their wit’s end!

She looked past the three Corpse Commanders before calmly scanning the distant Corpse Fortress.

"So..." Her cold voice echoed across heaven and earth, "Even now...that cowardly Corpse Governor still refuses to show himself?"

The three Corpse Commanders merely sneered, hearing her taunt.

The First Corpse Commander spoke indifferently, "You’re not worth Lord Governor’s personal appearance."

The Second Corpse Commander added coldly, "We have no time to waste amusing you. Our mission is to eliminate everyone else."

Just then, the Third Corpse Commander slowly smiled, and it was a twisted smile, the kind belonging to a madman admiring beautiful corpses. His crimson eyes greedily swept across the Dread Duchess.

"What a magnificent corpse vessel. I’ve wanted it for a very long time." He slowly licked his lips, "Once you’re dead, I’ll personally preserve every inch of your body. I promise...I’ll take excellent care of your corpse."

The battlefield instantly turned ice cold as even the other two Corpse Commanders frowned slightly because they knew their companion’s disturbing obsession, but they didn’t say anything.

However, those Evernight Dukes, who were paying attention to this, almost sighed with a hint of pity for the third corpse commander because they all knew he had provoked the Dread Duchess!

Even the Yin Duchess, who detests the Dread Duchess, looked at the third corpse commander as if he were already dead.

The Evernight Dukes dropped any intention of interfering or lending a hand because they might get the Dread Duchess even more annoyed.

On the other hand, the Dread Duchess’s expression disappeared completely as her crimson throne dissolved into countless scarlet particles, and an overwhelming killing intent erupted from her elegant figure.

The surrounding heavens trembled as if the stars themselves seemed to dim, and an ancient obsidian bow slowly appeared within her slender hand.

She drew it halfway, with countless crimson stars instantly lit across the battlefield, and her cold voice rang out like the judgment of death.

"...Alright." She slowly aimed directly at the Third Corpse Commander, "I’ll kill you first!"
