Chapter 1719: Arrival and Departure! (2)
Chapter 1719: Arrival and Departure! (2)
"I’m not leaving without my disciple!"
The Dread Duchess’s words were absolute, and even the Enchantress Demon Duchess opened her mouth but didn’t dare continue.
At that moment, the Dread Duchess raised her hand, and she was about to send another message, then...
’Ripple...’
The space above the ark suddenly fluctuated as the instigator wasn’t trying to hide it, and all the Evernight Dukes instantly noticed it with extreme vigilance because they instantly noticed the profound law of space in that faint ripple.
The Dread Duchess also immediately looked up. Thereafter, two figures emerged: Kharon and Eva.
Instantly recognizing her disciple, relief flashed through the Dread Duchess’s eyes, but it vanished almost immediately as her expression became cold.
"Ava!" The Dread Duchess didn’t hide her anger and directly called Eva by her "real" name instead of her title, Evil Diva.
Eva’s body slightly stiffened as she knew this was coming, and she was in trouble.
The Dread Duchess stared at her with reproach and demanded, "Where were you?"
But Eva wasn’t too worried, as she had already thought of an excuse, and she knew the Dread Duchess wouldn’t make things too difficult for her.
But before she could answer, Ace calmly stepped forward. "Your Highness."
The Dread Duchess looked toward him with displeasure but didn’t shut him down right away.
Ace bowed respectfully as he stated, "We were ambushed by a Corpse Vice Commander."
The moment those words fell, the eyes of the four Dukes changed instantly.
Ace continued calmly, "We barely managed to escape."
He lowered his head slightly. "Please don’t blame Lady Evil Diva. It was my fault for failing to detect the ambush in time."
The Dread Duchess’s pupils contracted behind her mask. "A Corpse Vice Commander?"
Her voice carried a hint of surprise, while the other three Dukes were equally stunned because they all knew exactly what a Corpse Vice Commander represented.
They were Abyssal Grand Lord realm existences, and if Eva and Kharon had truly encountered one and escaped unharmed, then their abilities were far more extraordinary than anyone had previously believed.
Especially Kharon, who claimed he failed to detect the ambush, which should be impossible even if he was an Abyssal Lord, much less an Abyssal Guardian.
The Enchantress Demon Duchess looked at the two with newfound interest. The Yin Duchess’s eyes narrowed with a hint of hidden jealousy as she looked at Eva. While the Corpse Duke remained thoughtful.
Even the Dread Duchess’s expression became slightly complicated as she was surprised, but more importantly, she was confused.
’If they encountered a Corpse Vice Commander, why didn’t Ava directly ask me for help? Moreover, just now it was Kharon who was using the Space Compression, which means he has a good grasp of the space law.
’And adding his early fighting prowess equivalent to an Abyssal Lord, and now he managed to escape the ambush of an Abyssal Grand Lord while protecting Ava, just how much more is he hiding?’
Those questions immediately surfaced in her mind as she became more curious about Kharon.
However, before she could ask any of those questions...
’RUMBLE...’
The space above them violently rippled, and it was far stronger than Ace’s, which meant whoever had done that had a far more terrifying comprehension of Space Law than he did.
The expressions of all four Dukes changed when they sensed it was actually Spatial Teleportation, the third Mystic Ability of the Space Law, which was extremely hard to comprehend even for them.
The next instant, two figures appeared with a flash. One was a tall, fiendish, burly man whose terrifying aura made the surrounding space tremble. Beside him stood a childish-looking demonic girl.
The moment the two appeared, the expressions of the four Evernight Dukes changed completely before they immediately bowed.
"Your Majesties."
Ace and Eva’s expressions also changed, especially Ace, as he had already noticed the terrifying profundities hidden in that teleportation, and all the excitement from getting the Space Compression vanished as he realized he still had a long way to go before mastering the space law.
But he didn’t dwell on it since those two figures who had made even the Evernight Dukes bow respectfully and addressed them as ’Majesties’ could only be the Evernight Kings.
Moreover, Ace had already seen the Evernight Devil King, so those two identities weren’t hard to guess, especially from their unique demeanor and aura.
Eva was the same, as she instantly understood who they were as she thought solemnly, ’Only three existences in the Evernight faction could make these four Dukes behave like this, especially my proud master. The Evernight Kings, and there were two of them present here!’
Eva’s heart stirred, but her expression didn’t change.
Following the Evernight Dukes’ gesture, Eva and Ace lowered their heads respectfully, but neither of them spoke, and neither dared reveal the slightest abnormality.
The two Kings looked toward the Dukes, and their expressions were cold.
The Evernight Fiend King spoke first in a cold tone, "Why are you still outside?"
The Dukes hesitated as they didn’t want to offend the Dread Duchess, but they also didn’t dare lie to an Evernight King.
Before anyone else could speak, the Dread Duchess stepped forward.
"Forgive me, Your Majesties." Her voice remained calm. "It was my fault."
The two Kings frowned; clearly, they were displeased, but neither had time to reprimand her.
The Evernight Demon King coldly said, "I want an explanation from you."
Her gaze swept across the group as her voice became heavier. "But not now. We need to leave. There is something nefarious lurking in this place!"
The Evernight Demon King’s usually playful expression had disappeared as she glanced toward the depths of the Undead Cradle, and for the first time, there was a trace of unease in her eyes.
The Evernight Dukes’ expressions also went grim while their hearts sank in uneasiness because they all knew the two Evernight Kings were referring to the impossible abnormality of the retreating Abyssal Ordeal!
Moreover, since the Evernight Kings didn’t have them stay to fully eradicate the Corpse Clan despite the eeriness of this place, relief immediately appeared in their hearts, for they had no desire to remain here either.
The Dread Duchess nodded, "Understood."
The Evernight Kings turned toward the ark.
"Everyone inside!"
No one hesitated anymore as the four Dukes immediately entered while Ace and Eva followed closely behind.
Ace’s eyes subtly swept across the battlefield one final time as the Corpse Clan was still there, and the Corpse Governor was still alive and had successfully become an Abyssal King.
The Supreme Abyssal Ordeal had already disappeared, and yet, the Evernight Kings were abandoning everything. They weren’t even interested in dealing with the Corpse Clan anymore. That alone told Ace how terrifying they all were.
Ace’s eyes flickered with a hint of ridicule. ’I wondered how they’d react if they knew it was all because of the Thief Symbol, and there was actually no danger in this secret realm.
’Well, this turned out even better than drawing the Heavenly Punishment or sneaking past all their defenses. They are willingly escorting us back to the Evernight Sanctuary!’
With a hint of ecstasy, he glanced upward as the heavens looked completely normal. But the gigantic devilish owl with the name ’SKY STEALER ’ remained there like an eternal symbol of deterrence!
Ace no longer cared about what would happen to this secret realm or the Corpse Clan anymore since he had already gotten everything this place had to offer while also achieving the Ascension Grandmaster Realm.
Once everyone entered the ark, the enormous gate slowly closed behind them.
’BOOOOOOOOOOM!’
The Realmbreaker Conquest Ark trembled as the Midnight Duke immediately activated its ancient formations, and countless runes illuminated the enormous ark before space around it began collapsing inward.
The realm gateway opened, and the ark prepared to leave the Undead Cradle. No one looked back at the Corpse Clan; at this point, survival was more important than everything else.
The Undead Cradle was no longer a secret realm filled with treasures, for it had become something far more terrifying. Something that even the Evernight Kings didn’t dare investigate.
Just before the ark disappeared into the realm gateway, in the depths of the Undead Cradle, within the forbidden region of the Lower Grave Strata, right where the Corpse Governor’s ruined chamber was located, a pair of enormous black eyes slowly opened.
For an instant, they seemed to look directly toward the departing ark, and then they closed again, without any sound. Nothing happened, yet something ancient seemed to quietly turn its attention toward the departing outsiders, and the realm gateway vanished!
