Chapter 1267 Pocket
Chapter 1267: Chapter 1267 Pocket
A day later, the flying boat finally descended from the skies and landed in a remote forest far from the Ghost Wood Forest.
The massive vessel settled gently onto a clearing, causing nearby trees to sway from the pressure generated by its powerful formations.
Birds and magical beasts scattered in every direction, frightened by the arrival of such a grand artifact.
“Everyone, we’re here,” Ross said.
One after another, the passengers disembarked from the flying boat. More than two thousand people stepped onto solid ground and stretched their bodies after spending a day traveling through the skies.
Once everyone had safely gotten off, the enormous flying boat began to glow. Golden runes lit up across its surface before the vessel rapidly shrank. A moment later, it disappeared completely.
The children immediately noticed.
“What? Where’s the flying thingy, Mom?” one of Ross’s little children cried. “I want to ride it more! Waaa!”
“Me too!”
“Bring it back!”
“Bring it back now! Waaaa!” Several children began crying at once. The adults exchanged helpless smiles.
Many of the children had spent the entire journey running around the flying boat, treating it as a giant playground. To them, the trip had ended far too quickly. Ross simply smiled as he watched the scene.
Kids would always be kids. No matter what world they lived in, children remained children. They laughed easily. They cried easily. They became attached to the strangest things.
The flying boat was merely a transportation artifact, but in their eyes it was the greatest toy in existence.
“They still have a lot of growing up to do,” Ross thought.
The mothers quickly comforted their children while promising that they would ride another flying boat in the future. Eventually the crying subsided. A minute later, Ross turned toward the rest of the group.
More than two thousand people stood behind him. All of them were former citizens from Earth. There were guards, servants, family members, followers, and trusted subordinates.
All of them were waiting for his next command. Ross nodded.
“Let’s go. We need to walk for about an hour before we arrive at our new home.”
“Yes, Ross!” The group immediately began moving. Fortunately, this world was vastly different from Earth. The air itself contained spiritual energy, nourishing all living things.
The trees were taller, the rivers were wider, and even ordinary animals were much stronger than their earthly counterparts. As they traveled through the forest, they encountered numerous magical beasts.
Some resembled wolves with crimson fur. Others looked like giant snakes covered in scales as hard as steel. There were even strange birds with wingspans reaching several meters.
However, none of them posed a threat. Brandon and his men quickly demonstrated why Ross trusted them. Whenever a magical beast appeared, it was swiftly eliminated.
Some were killed with guns. Others were frightened away by overwhelming one punch given by Brandon that easily killed one large wild beast in the form of a bear.
Thud.
The massive corpse crashed onto the ground. The surrounding children stared with wide eyes.
“So cool!”
“Uncle Brandon is amazing!”
Brandon merely smiled. He had a soft spot to Ross’s children. To him, defeating such creatures required almost no effort.
As a result, what should have been a dangerous journey through a wilderness filled with magical beasts felt more like a leisurely walk through a park.
The group continued onward without suffering a single casualty. Time slowly passed. More than an hour later, the dense forest finally began to thin. The trees became less crowded.
Signs of civilization started appearing. A dirt road emerged. Then came wooden fences. Then farms. Finally, the group reached their destination. A small town appeared before them.
Smoke rose from chimneys. Merchants could be seen walking through the streets. Children played near wooden houses. Farmers worked nearby fields.
Compared to the mighty cities of cultivators, the town was modest and unremarkable. Yet it was peaceful. Ross stopped and observed the settlement quietly.
Many townspeople also noticed the massive group approaching. More than two thousand people entering a small town was impossible to ignore.
Curious gazes immediately landed on Ross and his followers. Some townspeople looked nervous. Others looked surprised. A few simply wondered who these newcomers were. Ross smiled faintly.
The group entered the town without incident. The moment they arrived, Servant Lin immediately got busy.
As someone who had served under Bone Emperor Cyrus Thorn, handling mundane matters like purchasing land and arranging accommodations was a simple task.
With enough spirit stones and influence, many problems ceased to be problems.
Within a few hours, Servant Lin had already secured a large piece of land on the outskirts of town along with numerous buildings that could temporarily house Ross’s followers.
“Master, everything has been arranged,” Servant Lin reported respectfully. Ross nodded in satisfaction.
“Good work.”
Servant Lin nearly sighed in relief. Earning Ross’s approval always felt like surviving a great calamity. Soon, Ross’s group began moving into their new residences.
However, their arrival had already attracted the attention of the entire town. More than two thousand strangers appearing out of nowhere was impossible to ignore.
The local residents gathered in small groups and whispered among themselves while secretly observing the newcomers.
“Who are these people?”
“I’ve never seen them before.”
“There are so many of them.”
“And why are they all speaking such a strange language?” The townspeople looked confused.
The language spoken by Ross and the people from Earth was completely different from the language of this cultivation world.
To the locals, the words spoken by Ross’s followers sounded bizarre and incomprehensible. It was as though they were hearing an alien tongue.
“I can’t understand a single word they’re saying.”
“Neither can I.”
“Could they be foreigners from some distant kingdom?”
“Shhh! Lower your voice!” One middle-aged man hurriedly warned his companions.
“Don’t you see the cultivator leading them? He’s strong!” The man pointed at Servant Lin. The others immediately became quiet.
Although most of the townspeople were ordinary mortals, they could still sense that Ross and some of his companions were not ordinary people. Cultivators possessed a unique presence.
The day ended and Ross and his group had their first night in this town.
