Chapter 319: Emergence
Chapter 319: Emergence
The Divine Blood Pool was a forbidden area of the Ouroboros Clan.
Only when one had obtained permission could they go inside, and this restriction held true for even the Clan Head and Priests.
With the gate closed and no one to interrupt her, Liora did not do anything out of the ordinary.
She continued devouring the Divine Blood, allowing it to slowly strengthen her.
Under such conditions, the days passed by very quickly.
--
"Can the Divine Blood Pool no longer hold on?", a silent murmur echoed in the otherwise silent sea of golden blood as Liora glanced at the lowered level of the pool and let out a sigh.
"It seems that I can only stop here.", she shook her head before her body slowly emerged from the liquid.
Ignoring the gravitational pull of the blood, she jumped out and landed on a nearby platform, the only other thing besides this pool of blood.
Standing there, Liora could see that the sea’s level had decreased significantly.
Although most of it was still there, she judged that she had devoured more than thirty percent of it.
As for the rest of it?
It wasn’t that Liora was unwilling to devour it. Rather, she was unable.
She could sense a powerful aura deep within the body of liquid, which, according to her judgment, was the source of this blood pool.
"It’s stronger than a True Devil..."
"Although it’s only a remnant, it has reached the Greater Devil level."
Liora had noticed that the aura at the bottom grew stronger the more blood she devoured, as if a slumbering being was gradually awakening.
"I don’t know whether this thing is a friend or a foe of the Ouroboros Clan."
"Even if it is a friend, Overwrite cannot hide from the perception of such a being...", Liora shook her head, slightly disappointed that she could not devour any more of this blood.
Still, she quickly recovered. The disappointment on her face disappeared, replaced by a wide smile.
"The gains... are already enough."
Glancing into her own soul and seeing that more than eighty percent of it had been dyed golden, Liora had a hard time remaining calm.
She had just arrived at the Ouroboros Clan and had received such great benefits.
Even if she were to leave at this point, the risks she took while coming here would have been absolutely worth it.
"Although this is related to Ophis’ status, the benefits obtained by infiltrating the world’s most powerful force are indeed astonishing."
"My decision to come here was correct.", Liora whispered inwardly.
Pushing this matter aside, her focus quickly shifted back to reality.
She knew that she would not be able to leave this place until the three-day window was up.
Knowing this, she didn’t rush to leave.
With a move of her mind, she summoned the System Panel and began digesting the Evolution Points she had accumulated so far.
She did not create any new abilities. Just like every other time since her arrival in this world, she invested her points into the Blood Blade Technique.
In the blink of an eye, the [4] besides the technique became [5], and continued flickering.
--
"Lord Serathiel, are you here to pick the young lady up?"
Two guards wearing black armor stood outside a tall stone gate. Their aura was fierce and ferocious, while their strength reached the Demon Saint level, equivalent to True Devils.
Yet, as soon as the two noticed the old man’s arrival, their faces immediately broke into heartfelt smiles. They recognized the man and knew that he was the Clan Head’s right-hand man.
Most importantly, he was also a Demon Saint, and a powerful one in this realm.
Serathiel did not put up any airs. He nodded with a smile and greeted the two guards before he began to wait.
The wait did not last for long.
Shortly after, a colossal black serpent flashed across the tall stone gate, and it slowly parted.
The three men had no time to look inside.
The next moment, a black-haired girl stepped out of the gate as it quickly shut.
None of them noticed anything strange. Serathiel looked at the girl and gestured:
"Lady Ophis, please follow me—"
Halfway through his words, his speech suddenly paused.
His gaze grew strange as he observed the girl in front of him once more, making sure that his previous feeling had not been wrong.
When he confirmed it, a smile couldn’t help but creep up his face.
"I didn’t expect that Lady Ophis would turn misfortune into a blessing."
"Although you were previously seriously injured, the life and death situation must have unlocked your potential."
"Coupled with absorbing the divine blood, you have actually broken through to the Weapon Master realm so quickly."
Ophis, or rather Liora, remained silent. She had devoured the real Ophis and had obtained some fragments of her memories.
Thus, she knew that although Ophis acted innocent and cute when speaking to strangers, she remained cold and stoic when she was with the people she knew.
As for her so-called breakthrough?
There was, of course, none of it. After all, she was not a member of the Divine Race, and Overwrite was unable to fully mimic their abilities.
Fortunately, revealing a slightly stronger aura was quite simple for Liora.
Coupled with her disguise, she indeed seemed like a member of the Divine Race who had just become a Weapon Master.
And this was exactly what Liora was hoping for.
Thankfully, Serathiel did not disappoint her. Nodding his head with a smile, he opened his mouth and spoke:
"The Clan Head originally instructed me to lead you to him. But now that you’ve just broken through, there are more important things to do."
"While your bloodline is still agitated, you should take the opportunity to establish a connection with your Divine Weapon."
This time, Liora did not remain silent. She nodded coldly and immediately agreed.
After all, wasn’t this the entire reason why she had faked a breakthrough? How could she possibly refuse such an opportunity?
