Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 421: Archdevil

Chapter 421: Archdevil

Time goes back for a few seconds.

Just like the World Devourer Ancestor realized before their eventual demise, Liora had not divided herself into two, but into three parts.

One clone opened the True Spirit Gate, one pretended to take the True Spirit out, while her real body remained hidden deep inside the inheritance palace, waiting for the opportune time.

Fortunately, she didn’t have to wait for long.

Not long after her advancement began, that opportunity arrived.

The moment the World Devourer Ancestor launched a sneak attack inside the space of the True Spirit Gate, Liora understood that it was finally time.

Instantly, her soul body arrived before the True Spirit Gate and entered it.

Then, her figure cut through the darkness and arrived before the flickering flame.

She showed no hesitation.

Her hand reached out, and she grabbed the True Spirit staying inside.

Just like before, she faced no obstruction and completed this process quickly.

After grabbing her True Spirit, Liora did not linger any longer.

Without even casting a glance at the gray seed below the now-disappeared flame, she turned around and hastily left.

When she sensed the gray seed tremble, obviously the result of the World Devourer Ancestor transferring their power over, Liora did not panic.

Instead, she let out a sigh and shook her head.

"It seems that even my last trump card has to be used. Sure enough, such beings are terrifying."

"Fighting against such a being is nearly impossible. A mere remnant will has pushed me to this point.", she whispered subconsciously.

Despite her many inner thoughts, Liora’s reaction was rapid.

With a movement of her mind, her connection with the separated parts of her soul, those that had merged with her two clones, was suddenly severed.

Instantly, the three parties stopped sharing the same memories.

From merely being her puppets, her two clones seemingly turned into brand-new individuals.

If it were in the past, Liora would have never done this. After all, the clones could now have their own thoughts and would act as they wished.

Although they shared the same personality and past memories, they could be considered new beings.

Moreover, Liora knew her personality the best.

If the clones lived alone for some time, it would only be a matter of time before they decided to rebel against her.

Just like she didn’t believe that other Lioras were herself, the clones would also not think so.

As long as they killed her, the real body, they would not only be able to replace her, but also achieve complete freedom.

"Unfortunately for you, you won’t have a chance.", Liora thought, and she began to wait for something.

A moment later, what she was waiting for arrived.

Although they were separated by countless spaces and the walls of the palace rendered her unable to watch what was happening to the other clones, Liora sensed an unfathomable ancient power descend.

Compared to the terror she felt when she faced the World Devourer Ancestor, the horror she felt now was many times more intense, despite her not even being targeted by this power.

"The Will of the Demon World!", Liora quickly realized, and her eyes narrowed.

She was not surprised by its arrival.

In fact, it was her doing.

Before, she had slain the Commander and his subordinates, thus breaking the terms of her Devil Contract with the Universe Chamber of Commerce.

As such, she should have been punished by the Demon World a long time ago.

The only reason she hadn’t was because of the System, which was able to shield her from the investigation of the Demon World.

This shielding had previously included her separated bodies, too.

However, now that their connection had been severed and they became new individuals, these bodies were no longer able to access the System.

Without its protection, the Will of the Demon World arrived to punish them!

In Liora’s senses, the ancient power’s outburst only lasted for a mere moment.

Three distinct screams echoed in her ears, two from her own voice and one from the World Devourer Ancestor.

They didn’t last long. Before the Will of the Demon World departed, the screams were already over.

Under the Will of the Demon World, the three—two clones and one Ancient Devil—had perished completely.

Affected by their destruction, Liora’s soul body almost stumbled.

Yet, it quickly regained its balance and continued on with its journey.

Ignoring the backlash of losing a large amount of Indestructible Matter, her soul body cut through the darkness and arrived before the True Spirit Gate.

Then, with no one to stop her, she took a step forward and returned to her soul space.

The moment she entered it, the entire soul space began to shake.

A feeling of intense yearning emanated from it, as if it were requesting something from Liora.

Liora instantly understood where that yearning stemmed from.

She didn’t hesitate.

With a move of her hand, her clenched fist opened, and the True Spirit inside was revealed.

With a flick of her wrist, Liora tossed it forward.

The entire soul space was immediately illuminated by its extraordinary brilliance.

As if it had received nourishment, the soul space began to expand at a terrifying rate, far beyond the progress it had made in the past.

One mile, two miles, ten miles...

In the blink of an eye, the soul space had become more than one hundred miles in length, and it showed no signs of stopping just yet.

At the same time, the released True Spirit resonated with it.

Countless tiny lights flew out of it and merged into the surrounding space, stabilizing the originally trembling void.

Its light gradually grew dimmer.

Before long, the True Spirit had disappeared. Or rather, it had been fully integrated into the soul space, becoming one and whole.

At that exact moment, Liora felt herself become truly complete.

The aura of her body in the outside world grew ever more terrifying, and the same held true for her soul within this space.

A few minutes later, a faint clicking sound echoed.

The soul space stopped expanding.

Liora’s aura gradually stabilized.

However, she didn’t show any disappointment.

A smile appeared on the face of her soul body, as well as on the face of the body sitting outside.

"The advancement is finally complete.", Liora couldn’t help but whisper before waving her right hand and scattering specks of crimson light.

"Now is the most important time. Let’s see what bloodline I can create.", she thought secretly, as the crimson lights blended together and a crimson ladder emerged.
