Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 500: War God

Chapter 500: War God

While Liora was experiencing a battle against the erratic Guardian, collecting Contribution Points for the next stage of her plan, her earlier suspicions were actually confirmed.

The actions of everyone within the Blood Arena were indeed monitored!

Not only was the Human Federation able to observe the battles, but they could also set alarms for special events.

For example... someone attempting to obtain a 10-Star Rating.

In a vast galaxy that resembled the opening of chaos itself, the corpses of giant beings floated in space, acting as the planets and stars of an ordinary galaxy.

Demons, Zerg, Mechanical creatures, and even some humans could be seen among them.

The corpses were giant, tens of thousands of kilometers in both width and length. Though they were dead, they all exuded an aura that faintly surpassed the Archdevil stage.

In this vast cosmic ocean, the figure of a hunched man suddenly appeared.

He didn’t pay much attention to these corpses, only trembling instinctively once he stepped near them.

However, he ignored the power suppression, rushing straight toward the center of the galaxy.

Just as he was preparing to accelerate and reach the speed of light, though, a faint sigh suddenly echoed in his ears.

An indescribable power enveloped him and moved him away.

"What is it? Didn’t I request that no one interrupts me? Could it be that something has gone wrong with the Project?", a deep male voice rang out, and the appearance of its owner was soon revealed.

A man. With black hair and eyes, he looked ordinary... if one ignored the pair of massive wings growing out of his back and the horns emerging from either side of his temples.

If anyone did not know any better, they would very well mistake him for a demon.

But in reality, he was a human!

The Dean of the War Academy and a well-known Rank 10 Awakener—nicknamed War God!

"Teacher!", the visitor bowed respectfully upon seeing the man.

Hearing his question, he shook his head.

"There’s been some news regarding the Project, but this is not the reason behind my visit."

"Someone is attempting to become the Guardian of the Rank 1 Blood Arena! Moreover, they have already cleared several levels."

Hearing this report, the War God frowned.

He had indeed asked his students and subordinates to monitor the Blood Arena and look out for any potential geniuses.

However, reaching the 9-Star Rating in the Rank 1 Blood Arena did not reach the threshold of a "genius".

Given enough time and resources, even some minor geniuses on remote planets could reach this point.

In fact, the chances of that happening were higher.

Most Super-Grade Academy geniuses would seldom stay at Rank 1 for long, and would thus not have the chance to accumulate experience and combat skills.

It was only the less talented who were stuck at Rank 1 for many years who usually challenged the Rank 1 Blood Arena.

Generally, only when a challenger reached the Rank 4 Blood Arena would powerful beings begin to pay attention.

Thinking of this, the War God frowned, intending to scold his student. But gradually, his expression relaxed.

"Ursa has been with me for thousands of years."

"Since he feels the need to inform me, that person must be special.", he judged, deciding to investigate before saying anything.

Instantly, his consciousness swept out and "leapt" in dimension, jumping into the Information World.

Elena had once claimed that powerful beings could enter the Information World without the assistance of a Virtual Helmet or capsule.

Now, the Dean of the War Academy had proved this fact to be true.

"Huh? Is it a student of the War Academy?", the War God exclaimed, suspecting he had found the reason behind his student’s sudden report.

But the next moment, his eyes suddenly widened.

"A first-year student? Has she just enrolled in the War Academy?"

The Dean was unable to hold still.

With a wave of his hands, a screen appeared in front of him and lit up.

It began displaying what was taking place inside one of the billions of Blood Arenas.

A blonde man stood arrogantly on one side, making the War God subconsciously grit his teeth with hatred upon seeing him.

But soon, he relaxed, moving his gaze toward the party he was currently interested in.

It was a red-haired woman.

Though she fought valiantly and looked heroic, the War God could tell she was barely eighteen.

For him, she was just a child.

Yet the next moment...

Bang!

The phantom of the guardian was blasted away, forced to dissipate.

"Haha!", the War God instantly burst into laughter.

"Old bastard, so even you have a day like this! You used to be arrogant to have left behind a phantom and become a Guardian. I want to see how proud you will be when you witness yourself getting beaten up!"

Though he was happy to witness his rival suffering misfortune, a trace of solemnity couldn’t help but cross his eyes.

Liora had already passed the 8th level.

Only two more battles separated her from the legendary 10-Star Rating and her becoming the new Guardian.

"Unfortunately, this challenge is almost impossible. Though the strength of each phantom only becomes 10% stronger with each level, the change is qualitative. Even if I don’t want to admit it, that guy was monstrous when young.", the War God sighed.

Even so, he didn’t rush to leave.

He continued observing the battle, wanting to witness the full extent of Liora’s potential.

A few minutes later, the ninth phantom also collapsed.

Despite this, Liora also suffered several injuries as a result.

"Alas. It appears this is her limit. Mastering the third level of the Elemental World technique is already impressive. Unfortunately, one needs something special to go further.

"Still, it doesn’t matter. The War Academy is lucky to have taken in such a genius."

The War God was satisfied. He was planning to exit the Information World and send several messages to inform the relevant personnel.

Yet just as his consciousness was about to withdraw, his pupils shrank.

On the screen, the two familiar figures were fighting once again.

Yet unlike the previous battle, which had been fierce and ferocious, this one was completely one-sided.

The woman burst out with overwhelming power. An illusory world of flames erupted from her body, wiping out the blonde man’s phantom in almost an instant.

"Fire Domain?", a surprised voice echoed.
