Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 625: Rank 10 Gathering

Chapter 625: Rank 10 Gathering

Liora quickly became aware of both the aura as well as the thing attacking her. Or rather, the things that were attacking her.

Lasers. Futuristic bullets. Streams of information that wanted to overwrite her existence.

Within just a moment, several distinct blows had taken shape, all reaching the threshold of Rank 10 and aiming at her.

Even Liora had to feel pressure, knowing that she would be injured if she were to face these head-on.

Thankfully, Liora’s reaction was quick.

As her mind stirred, a golden token materialized in her hand. Wisps of demonic energy poured into its body before she casually tossed it forward.

It transformed into a stream of light that collided with the attacks.

In the end, the light turned back into a token that shook violently, seemingly affected by the collision.

However, the blows had also disappeared. The two forces had reached a stalemate.

Before Liora could react, though, another barrage of blows arrived. This time, there were not only lasers and bullets, but also soul attacks, charging claws, and massive fists.

Dozens of Rank 10 blows locked onto Liora, threatening to engulf her completely.

Liora’s aura erupted.

Her eyes narrowed, focusing on several places along the surrounding space.

She secretly urged the Cosmic Sea, prepared to fully unleash her power and deal with the enemies.

But just then, she noticed something. Her expression shifted as she restrained a portion of her momentum.

“Alright. That’s enough.”

A voice suddenly echoed.

Several figures emerged in front of Liora, their auras soaring into the sky and colliding with those of the enemies.

Facing them, the blows paused for a brief moment before dissipating of their own accord.

More figures appeared in the surroundings, from the places where the blows had previously burst out.

It was as though the veil concealing everything had been taken off. Dozens of figures, belonging to different races, materialized.

Demons. Zerg. Mechanical beings.

Even creatures from never-before-seen races had appeared.

“You’ve already confirmed the newcomer’s strength. Why are you insisting on attacking the Emperor of our race?”

“Could it be that you wish to break the agreement?”

Despite facing so many opponents, the man in the lead showed no fear.

Not only did he not back down, but he instead showcased an arrogance unbecoming of the situation.

Even so, no one took action.

At most, they chose to voice their complaints.

“Adrian, you should be aware that this woman has slain thousands of my descendants. No matter what, my Zerg Race will never let her leave alive.”, a Zerg Queen with an equal status to the man said, her bloodshot eyes fixed on Liora.

The Zerg Queens had little sense of kinship. Yet the look she gave was as though Liora had murdered her entire family.

“That’s right!”

“This woman has consistently killed the Venerables and even Kings of our race! In my opinion, she is unworthy of having the title Emperor!”, a demon echoed the Zerg Queen’s words, and the Mechanical Race members agreed soon after.

Adrian did not back down.

“You dare threaten the members of our human race right in front of me? Do you truly think so little of me?”, he angrily laughed.

“If that’s what you want, we can decide the fate of the extraterrestrial battlefield today!”

For a moment, the scene turned tense.

Everyone’s aura was resonating, as though a large-scale war involving dozens of Rank 10 beings was about to break out.

But looking at this situation, Liora knew better.

Although a fight seemed imminent, she could see that these people were merely posturing.

Despite what their harsh words would suggest, they had no intention of getting into a battle just yet.

In fact, this much was already obvious.

Had beings of such a level truly intended to fight, words would have been unnecessary.

They would simply spring into action without any hesitation.

“However, this also makes sense.”

“Although everyone is targeting the human race at the moment, no one knows the other parties’ true thoughts.”

If a war suddenly broke out and one of the other three civilizations chose to betray another, their victim would suffer heavy losses.

This was a major reason why the Cosmic Universe had not been dominated by a single force even after billions of years.

The four Apex Civilizations had formed a delicate balance, targeting yet also restraining one another.

One moment, the Zerg was allied with the others to target the humans. The next, they could very well ally with the humans and kill the others.

Indeed. Liora’s thoughts were soon confirmed.

After uttering a few more insults and threats, the gathered groups soon backed down, each civilization leaving with its subordinates.

As he watched the other races disappear, Adrian’s solemn expression faded away.

A joyous smile crept up on his face.

“Haha. Emperor Liora, I’ve heard much about you.”, he chuckled.

“It’s truly a cause for celebration that another Emperor has been born in our race.”

“With your help, the Human Federation will surely soar to new heights.”

Adrian was not the only one with such a reaction.

Every human Emperor approached Liora with a smile, congratulating her on her advancement.

It was only after everyone had introduced themselves and gotten to know each other that Adrian shifted the topic of the conversation.

“Liora, you must have come here for the ancient city. Fortunately, you arrived at the perfect time.”

Adrian pointed at the city.

More precisely, at the white barrier around it.

“You must have already seen it. This barrier is similar to that of the city fragments. Stronger, in fact.”

“Breaking it is impossible. That’s why we have gathered here, waiting for the opportunity to arrive.”

As he spoke, the barrier flickered for a millisecond. Even though it quickly turned back to normal, as though nothing had happened, its strength had decreased by an immeasurably small amount.

This was nothing on its own, but it proved that Adrian’s words were true and they were indeed waiting for something.

“We and the other races have reached a tacit understanding.”, Adrian added.

“Only Rank 10 beings are allowed to approach the city. Those who are not Emperors that dare to come…”

Adrian did not finish his sentence.

But combined with the previous reaction of the three races, Liora understood his meaning:

Every non-Emperor who dared approach the city would be executed on the spot!
