Chapter 668: Power System
Chapter 668: Power System
“As for its purpose…”
The Divine Emperor paused briefly.
“It’s a world created purely out of faith. Whether it is the world itself or the people residing in it, they can be said to have been formed under the power of faith.”
“You must have already discovered the benefits of this.”
The Divine Emperor observed the world beneath him.
“Unlike ordinary worlds, which need to continuously digest World Origin in order to operate, the Kingdom of Gods only requires faith.”
“As long as it has enough faith, it can sustain itself forever. Even the faith of the creatures inside of it is the same.”
Although she had long guessed this, Liora still found it surprising upon hearing it from him.
It was the first time she had heard of faith being capable of achieving this.
Even during her time in the Demon World, she had never even heard about something similar.
However, upon recalling the strange structure of the current Divine Emperor, she found it made sense.
Since he himself could be created from condensed faith while possessing his own will and emotions, there was no reason why other creatures couldn’t as well.
At most, they would be weaker. The amount of faith required to accomplish this was minuscule.
Still, she was quite curious about the method to achieve this.
“Is this the power system followed by your Era?”, she questioned, but she quickly shook her head before responding to her own question.
“No. I’ve already investigated the state of the cultivators outside.”
“They quite resemble the powerhouses of the current Era. They have no need to absorb or create faith.”
The Divine Emperor didn’t show any surprise upon hearing this answer.
It would be strange if a powerhouse of Liora’s level did not examine her opponents closely. With her insight, she would be able to see some clues.
Likewise, he could also sense some traces of the cultivation civilization’s methods on her.
Even if she hadn’t practiced the cultivation power system, it was clear she had been inspired by it and made some changes to her path.
He nodded.
“Indeed. These are not the methods of my Era.”
“In fact, even I don’t know where ‘I’ found it. My memories about its source have long been completely sealed.”
The Divine Emperor sighed.
“I suspect that the method to create the Kingdom of Gods comes from an ancient civilization of the long-past Eras.”
“Perhaps it had certain limitations when I obtained it, and thus ‘I’ consciously wiped these memories away.”
The man offered several possible explanations for why he had no memories of it.
To this, Liora raised her eyebrows but didn’t think much of it.
She didn’t know whether that was the truth or the Divine Emperor was merely lying about it, hoping to cover something up.
Either way, what mattered was that it came from another civilization and Era.
And such a method… piqued Liora’s interest a lot.
For no other reason than that she could sense some of its characteristics and felt that they were extremely useful.
“I’m afraid that this so-called Kingdom of Gods is not as simple as you claim. I feel that its structure somewhat resembles a living body.”, she said.
“It’s as though you’ve replaced your body with it.”
“You’ve indeed shed your physical body, sacrificing part of your strength in the process.”
“But in exchange, you’ve gained some other abilities…”
“The most important is that you won’t die as long as this Kingdom is not destroyed. Even if your body is destroyed, you’ll be able to reconstruct it by consuming some faith.”
As she spoke, Liora waved her hand.
The power of Nothingness wrapped around her palm as she reached toward the faraway golden wall.
The Divine Emperor flinched.
He instinctively wanted to step forward and block her attack. But glancing at the mark on his body, he consciously held back.
He could only watch powerlessly as Liora’s hand pierced through space and struck the golden wall.
A thunderous boom echoed throughout the Kingdom of God.
Natural disasters occurred.
Earthquakes struck the land itself, while volcanoes burst with magma and the seas churned.
The power unleashed at the point of impact was even more terrifying.
A large fissure formed where Liora’s hand landed, spreading for hundreds of kilometers with seemingly no end in sight.
The damage looked truly catastrophic, occupying a large portion of the world’s wall.
Yet, Liora was far from satisfied.
Even her most casual attack could reach the pinnacle of Rank 11.
With the support of the power of Nothingness, a force known for its destructive power, even Rank 12 beings would have to be cautious and defend against it.
But when it came to the wall, it was “hardly” damaged. At least, it was not as damaged as one would expect.
Moreover, as seconds passed and the power of faith flowed into the gaps, the wall began to repair itself.
Within mere moments, the damage had been fully recovered from.
It was obvious that Liora had not held back in her attack.
It was the Kingdom of God that was simply too tough.
The man’s current strength lay somewhere between Rank 10 and Rank 11.
Yet the defense of the Kingdom of God had reached Rank 12! And not just an ordinary Rank 12 at that!
Its regenerative properties were incredible!
This demonstration, combined with Liora’s earlier words, caused the Divine Emperor’s expression to change.
He seemed defeated as he spoke:
“You’re right. Unless the Kingdom of God is destroyed and fully crumbles, I will never die.”
Under Liora’s scrutinizing gaze, he continued.
“Moreover, within its interior, my strength will be enhanced sevenfold.”
As he spoke, wisps of unclaimed faith flowed toward him, making his momentum surge.
“Even the so-called Rank 12 beings of this Era would struggle to contend against me within this space.”
“Unfortunately…”
The Divine Emperor didn’t finish his words. The disappointed expression on his face had already betrayed everything.
Unfortunately, he had met Liora, someone who could directly plunder his source of strength.
Had she not, even she and Elaouthr together would struggle to defeat the Divine Emperor inside his Kingdom of God.
In the end, the Divine Emperor felt that he was unlucky.
Who could have expected that he would meet the legendary Human Emperor?
