Chapter 718: Gluttony Avatar
Chapter 718: Gluttony Avatar
The phantom exuded an evil aura, like a creature that had crawled out of the depths of Hell, embodying everything evil.
Yet its actual appearance was not as terrifying as its aura would suggest.
The phantom was small, barely the size of a human fist.
Although it looked extraordinary, it was far from causing terror in people’s hearts.
Unfortunately, that situation did not last for long.
As more and more of the invisible energy was converted into sin, the phantom continued to grow.
From the size of a human fist, it quickly became one meter tall and then went beyond that.
Five meters. Ten meters. Twenty meters.
Before long, the phantom was one hundred meters tall, towering above Liora like an enormous crimson shadow.
It was only then that it stopped expanding.
Not because its growth process had been completed, but because it was starting to grow in other aspects.
Its misty body tumbled violently. A small portion of it turned into black and white, weaving together onto the phantom’s face and transforming into a mask.
It depicted a large Devil face with two pointed horns. Its eyes were crimson, dripping with blood, while everything about it screamed of hunger.
It looked like a monster that hadn’t eaten for millions of years!
Gluttony Avatar—the Sin Avatar Liora had chosen to form first.
Its function was simple. It could swallow everything, from simple things such as energy to illusory concepts.
Of course, the latter had to wait until the Gluttony Avatar had become powerful enough.
For now, it could only devour simple things.
That was more than enough.
While continuously using Profane Offering and sacrificing World Origin to turn into the sin of Gluttony and nourish it, Liora used part of her mind to control the Gluttony Avatar.
For a split second, the world itself appeared to have frozen.
When time flowed again, the Gluttony Avatar had shown its power. Everything in the surroundings began to flow toward it.
Information streams constantly poured into the Gluttony Avatar, integrating everything into the crimson mist.
First was the information within a dozen meters. Then its range continued expanding.
One hundred meters. Five hundred meters. One kilometer.
In the blink of an eye, the devouring force was no longer contained within Liora’s own residence. It swiftly expanded beyond it, swallowing the surrounding buildings and spreading throughout the rest of the city.
The Gluttony Avatar was like a bottomless well.
No matter how many information streams entered its body, it could quickly digest them, facing no problem at all.
If anything, the Gluttony Avatar constantly grew stronger. Partly because the devouring overlapped with its concept and partly because Liora was constantly operating the Primordial Sin Art.
This created a self-sustaining loop.
The stronger the Gluttony Avatar became, the more powerful its devouring force got. The more powerful its devouring force got, the stronger the Gluttony Avatar would become.
Liora didn’t have to do anything.
Within a couple of seconds, the entire city had vanished, replaced by a vast expanse of pure nothingness.
Only she and the Gluttony Avatar remained. There were no buildings, no streets, nor any other living being.
Watching this happen, and seeing the Law Stars condense in the Cosmic Sea one after another, Liora didn’t hesitate.
She doubled her efforts, allowing the Gluttony Avatar to devour to its heart’s content.
With her giving it permission, there was nothing that could stop the Sin Avatar any longer.
In various places across the Information World, human Awakeners were praying to the Human Emperor, hoping they could provide her with their power.
Suddenly, the space around them broke apart. A terrifying devouring force descended out of nowhere and acted upon them.
Before they could react, their split consciousnesses were wiped out.
No matter their strength, they could not resist. They were forced back to reality.
Initially, only a small number of select people were affected. But soon, the impact spread throughout entire galaxies and clusters.
If one were to look at the Information World from above, they would discover that a “hole” had appeared in its fabric and was expanding at a terrifying rate.
If the “hole” was not “patched”, it was only a matter of time before this world, which had existed for billions of years, was destroyed.
By now, the Information World had begun to notice something.
Before, Anna had been occupied with the matters of the Human Emperor, relaxing her control over the Information World.
But with Liora’s actions growing more and more reckless, she finally discovered that something was wrong.
Sensing that a large portion of her body had been destroyed unbeknownst to her, Anna was stunned.
The Information World had existed for as long as the human race had. Yet in all that time, it had never suffered any harm.
How could it have been damaged now, the moment it mattered the most?
Anna knew it could not be a coincidence. The bad feeling she had sensed during the Human Emperor’s departure surfaced in her mind.
“Could it be…?” she whispered as a terrifying guess took root in her mind.
She tried to weave together new information and let the broken parts of her body recover.
Upon discovering that she couldn’t, her face darkened.
“Let me see who is using this opportunity to cause trouble,” she said coldly, using the Information World’s authority to peer at the source of the disturbance.
The moment she came face to face with the culprit, she was left stunned.
That familiar face. That familiar aura.
She could never be mistaken.
But hadn’t Liora gone into the core of the Cosmic Universe? How could she have appeared here?
Anna had long known that Liora possessed a clone, as she had been tricked in the past. But in her opinion, Liora’s strongest body should be the real one.
No one would let a mere clone control Rank 14 power, right? Weren’t they afraid that they would suffer backlash and be replaced?
Although she was full of doubts, Anna knew she didn’t have the time to contemplate.
Sensing that Liora’s aura was “weak” and knowing the gravity of the situation, she immediately rushed toward her.
Her face flashed with murderous intent.
Anyone who dared shake the foundation of the Information World would be killed, much less someone who had already been deemed her enemy!
