Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 738: Success

Chapter 738: Success

The entire Cosmic Sea trembled violently upon the Cosmic Universe’s entry.

As Liora spread her consciousness, she saw her own body collapse.

Large tears formed at the edges of the Cosmic Sea, allowing destructive powers to pass through them and threaten to extinguish the worlds and the Law Stars that had given birth to them.

She didn’t need to think for long. She immediately understood who the culprit behind everything was.

After all, her current actions were somewhat reckless and rash.

Although she wasn’t exactly devouring the Cosmic Universe, what she was doing was not really too far from it.

For an Ancient Devil to devour a “being” at the level of a Prince of the Demon World, the backlash was already less violent than one would expect.

Of course, even those “less violent” results put Liora’s life in danger.

As long as the Cosmic Sea exploded, she would also die with it. At most, she would be able to leave her body behind and become the true Will of the Cosmic Universe.

That would allow her to become a Princess of the Demon World on the spot.

However, it would also directly restrict her future potential. Even if most Devils would not care and would choose to take that chance, Liora wasn’t going to do so.

Despite watching her body break down, she showed no trace of panic.

She had already expected such a reaction.

More importantly, she had made sufficient preparations to deal with it.

Watching the aura of the Cosmic Universe tear the Cosmic Sea apart, she no longer hesitated to put those preparations into use.

With a movement of her consciousness, countless world ruins appeared out of nowhere.

They were some of the fragments of worlds that had been destroyed during the Tribulation. Although Liora had devoured some and integrated others into the universe, she had kept a portion of them for this exact moment.

Under her control, the world fragments moved closer and rapidly fused together.

Then, they began forming a wall around the Cosmic Universe.

The moment that wall came into contact with the Cosmic Universe’s pressure, it trembled.

However, unlike the Cosmic Sea, it was ultimately able to withstand the impact.

Seeing this, Liora intensified her efforts.

World fragment after world fragment was controlled to form the wall.

It was unknown how much time had passed.

It could have been minutes, hours, or even years.

All that was known was that Liora’s Cosmic Sea body was constantly stabilizing.

From looking as though it was on the verge of exploding, it looked ready to break apart, then ready to crack…

Finally, it stabilized completely!

The cosmic dust stopped swirling.

The dim lights of the worlds and the Law Stars slowly regained their initial brilliance.

A moment later, they gathered together again.

In the blink of an eye, the terrifying Cosmic Sea had disappeared.

In its place now stood a crimson-haired woman.

Liora!

Her face was pale. The previous situation had taken a heavy toll on both her mental and physical state.

Despite this, a faint smile remained on her lips.

She knew she had succeeded!

As she turned her attention inward, she saw that the Cosmic Universe was surrounded in every direction by a wall-like structure, as though it were an unborn creature and the wall were its egg.

No matter how much the Cosmic Universe’s aura tried to rush out of this structure and strike at the Cosmic Sea, it failed.

Although the worlds these fragments came from were individually weaker than the universe, they were all still “worlds.” Combined with the fusion of so many of them, they ultimately succeeded in their purpose.

The Cosmic Universe was sealed!

Or rather, it was isolated from the rest of the Cosmic Sea!

“This means that the universe has yet to become a real part of the Cosmic Sea. Its ‘absorption’ has not given me any benefits in terms of strength.” Liora whispered.

“Thankfully, that was never my purpose. Trying to devour the Cosmic Universe with my current strength is a thankless task.”

“At most, I can try to leverage its strength.”

The moment that thought took root, Liora’s consciousness shifted back to the Origin Sea.

Looking at the desolate area around her, devoid of any worlds, she paused briefly.

Then, she urged her authority as the Will of the Cosmic Universe.

Immediately, the isolated universe lit up.

A high-level power spread through the Cosmic Sea and washed over her.

Her strength soared, as did her vision and abilities.

In the blink of an eye, her strength had become the same as what she would achieve while inside the Cosmic Universe.

Seeing this, Liora’s lips twitched.

Even with her ability to keep her composure, she now found it extremely difficult to remain calm.

After all, she could now exert Princess of the Demon World-level power whenever she wanted.

There was no longer a limitation caused by her distance from the Cosmic Universe, since the Cosmic Universe was inside the Cosmic Sea!

She could now possess Princess of the Demon World-level vision, strength, and abilities with a thought.

In a sense, there was little difference between her and a real Princess of the Demon World at this moment!

It took several minutes before Liora finally calmed down.

With a thought, she stopped leveraging the Cosmic Universe’s power, returning to her initial state.

A sense of loss flashed through her mind, though she quickly snapped out of it.

She shook her head.

“I never expected that a simple world invasion would result in me gaining such great benefits.”

“It seems that the Hollow Ancestor is my greatest benefactor. If there is a chance, I should personally thank him in the future.”

As she spoke, Liora’s gaze swept through her surroundings.

After confirming that she had left no clues behind and no one could make out what had happened, she no longer lingered here.

Her figure flashed.

When it reappeared, it was already countless light-years away.

Then she flashed again and again.

Slowly but surely, Liora moved toward the edge of the world cluster.

Had it been an Archdevil, it would have taken centuries to travel this distance. For a Greater Devil, it would have been even longer.

But for an Ancient Devil like Liora, movement in the Origin Sea was as natural as drinking water.

Before long, she had walked out of the world cluster.

No trace of her having ever been here remained—save for the total destruction she had unknowingly left behind.

Many years later, creatures would surely arrive here and wonder who was responsible for everything.
