Chapter 765: Settling
Chapter 765: Settling
On the other side, Liora did not know the Mountain Demon Lord’s true intentions nor how deeply hidden he was.
Even so, she had already guessed that his goal was something other than a simple alliance. Most likely, he also had some scheme he wished to carry out.
Of course, as long as it didn’t affect her interests, Liora didn’t care enough to find out what his true goal was.
If it did affect her, there would be no need for the Mountain Demon Lord to exist any longer.
As Liora’s body descended back into the Primordial Sin World, she noticed that several messages had arrived while she was gone.
When her consciousness wrapped around the floating runes, she discovered that these messages came from other Rulers.
Most of them were greetings, congratulating her on her ascension to the 17th place, while others were invitations similar to that of the Mountain Demon Lord.
The weakest Rulers who dared to send her a message were Antiquity Stage Devils.
As such, within a few hours of her ascension, Liora’s contact network had greatly expanded.
“Sure enough, a person like me is popular wherever I go.”
“Let alone these people, even the reclusive and mysterious Mountain Demon Lord was starstruck and immediately rushed to meet me.”
Liora let out a sigh, a trace of “emotion” flashing in her eyes.
Putting the messages away, she didn’t stop to think about their purpose.
Instead, she swept through them with her consciousness, creating her own Devil Runes and sending them flying to the surrounding Demon Layers.
After returning their goodwill, she took one look at the turbulent continents below and finally entered the palace.
—
“My Lord.”
A few minutes later, a respectful voice echoed in Liora’s ears.
As she nodded lightly, Liora couldn’t help but take a look at the state of her most trusted subordinate—Alpha.
It was obvious that her strength had increased significantly.
During the years they had spent in the Cosmic Sea, Alpha had not been idle.
With Liora’s permission, she had worked to conquer the Mechanical Race.
Using her status as the Mechanical Emperor, Alpha quickly succeeded.
She not only made them submit, but also devoured a large portion of them, improving her own strength in the meantime.
In Liora’s opinion, the current Alpha could contend with most Antiquity stage Devils.
If she were to use all her trump cards, she could likely protect herself against some ordinary Primordial Devils. At worst, she would be able to escape.
In a sense, Alpha’s speed of progress was shocking.
If it weren’t for Liora, whose progress was even faster, the fame of this Devil Puppet would have long since spread throughout the Demon World.
Observing Alpha’s condition, Liora nodded in satisfaction. For a moment, she felt like a farmer watching their crops bloom brilliantly.
Suppressing these inexplicable thoughts, she raised a hand and motioned for Alpha to get up.
“You should have already sensed that we’ve returned to the Demon World.” She prefaced her next words.
As her mind stirred, the walls of the palace became transparent, allowing them to see the outside world.
Alpha already knew they had returned to the Demon World. The density of demonic energy made that obvious.
Yet upon seeing the massive seven continents below and their obvious connection to her Lord, she couldn’t help but be surprised.
“My Lord, is this… your Demon Layer?” she subconsciously asked.
When she saw Liora nod, a faint smile appeared on Alpha’s face.
Liora knew why, but she didn’t explicitly point it out. She reached out and gently patted Alpha’s shoulder.
“For the foreseeable future, we will be staying here. You can consider this our home.”
“Unfortunately, I have many matters I need to attend to. I cannot stay and take care of the Primordial Sin World all the time.”
“While I’m in seclusion, I’ll be leaving this Demon Layer in your care…”
“Understood, my Lord,” Alpha immediately replied.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to maintain the Demon Layer’s stability. I won’t let anyone disturb our hard-won peace!”
As she spoke, a ruthless glint flashed across Alpha’s eyes, her face filled with determination.
She looked like a knight swearing to protect the stability of their kingdom, ready to fight against all invaders.
Seeing such a demeanor, Liora was secretly speechless.
Especially when she looked down and saw the marching armies of the Sin Races and the large amounts of sin permeating every inch of the continents, she nearly wanted to ask:
‘Where did you see the peace?’
Thankfully, Liora kept those thoughts to herself.
Having received Alpha’s promise, she felt relieved.
She didn’t doubt Alpha’s abilities. In fact, Liora believed that Alpha’s managerial abilities far surpassed her own.
She had shown this in the past.
Whenever Liora conquered a force or was unwilling to deal with the aftermath of her actions, she would throw the trouble to Alpha.
And Alpha had never disappointed her.
The only thing she had lacked was strength.
Now, with her current level of power, even that weakness had vanished.
With a smile on her face, Liora continued chatting with Alpha for a while longer.
Then, having finished saying everything that needed to be said, she finally retreated to the depths of the palace.
Only Alpha remained in the main hall.
Looking at Liora’s departing figure and recalling her instructions, determination flashed across Alpha’s face.
She waved her hands.
“Go!”
The moment she gave that command, her skin suddenly cracked, revealing a bottomless abyss hidden inside.
It was as though Alpha’s body was connected to another dimension.
From inside that dark void, many creatures walked out, materializing in the hall one after another.
Some were made of wood and looked like mannequins. Others creaked as stone clashed against stone, making them look like moving statues.
Finally, there were some that mixed technology with natural materials, becoming bizarre alchemical creations.
Under Alpha’s control, all these peculiar creatures rushed out of the palace in unison.
Following her command, they began dealing with the affairs of the palace and the Primordial Sin World as a whole.
