Chapter 769: Forced to Awaken
Chapter 769: Forced to Awaken
Liora remained oblivious to the plans of the Fallen Angel lineage, much less the thoughts of the True Angel Demon lord. Or rather, she had neither the time nor the will to care about these plans.
At this time, she was fully absorbed in her study of the lion statue, shutting herself within the sealed demi-plane and having no communication with the outside world.
With her eyes still fixed on the statue, Liora stretched out her right hand.
Under her control, two completely opposite forces were born on her palm.
Creation. Destruction.
The two concepts clashed initially before integrating seamlessly, as though they were not opposites, but powers that could enhance one another.
Liora did not stop there.
Soon, the forces in her palm changed, taking different forms and colors.
Life. Death.
Light. Darkness.
Kindness. Evil.
With every transformation, her control over those powers increased. The two opposites would clash, not destroying one another, but producing an even more terrifying power.
Clearly, Liora had benefited immensely from studying the lion statue.
Her control over her powers had not only increased individually, but she was now also able to combine opposing forces to give birth to even more terrifying concepts.
However, Liora was not truly satisfied just yet.
She had yet to complete the goal she had set at the beginning:
She wanted to make the Chaos God one of her forms, similar to what she had done with the Dragon of Time.
Although doing so would not significantly improve her strength, it would prove that her control over her power had reached a new height. At the same time, it could greatly increase her potential.
Despite repeated failures, Liora did not panic.
She did not become impatient.
She knew that, with her talent, it was only a matter of time before she succeeded.
And with her advancement to an Ancient Devil, the last thing she lacked was time.
Even if she was targeted by the Fallen Angel lineage, she knew their attack would not arrive anytime soon.
Perhaps it would take centuries, if not thousands of years, before they took action to deal with her. Such was the time scale of Ancient Devils.
For them, thousands of years were nothing.
Unfortunately, Liora soon discovered that she was not entirely correct.
The Fallen Angel race indeed did not target her.
However, only a few months after she began her practice, she felt a tiny tremor.
Not from her body, but rather from her Throne.
At that moment, Liora felt the entire River of Time tremble, as though something in its depths was trying to break free from its clutches.
It was not an Archdevil ascending, though. Whatever was trying to escape the River of Time was countless times greater in size and in strength.
Liora’s expression turned serious.
With a thought, she put the lion statue away.
Then, the many formations around the demi-plane opened as she disappeared from the room.
—
The Primordial Sin World had changed.
Although only a few months had passed since she had last seen it, Liora immediately noticed that the seven continents were several times more populous.
Some of the added population consisted of newly born Sin Races. Most, however, were ascended Devils, mostly belonging to her own race—Devils of the End.
With the added troops, the battles had already begun.
In the battlefields Liora had opened between the continents, massive armies collided.
Devils fought fiercely, using every means available to them to deal with their opponents.
None of them held back. Like machines born solely for killing, they constantly clashed, tearing each other’s flesh apart.
The number of souls and the concept of Sin had been strengthened as a result.
With a deep breath, Liora absorbed the latter, feeling that her own Sin Avatars had grown stronger.
Unfortunately, the improvement was not too great.
Liora did not care.
She sat on the throne in the main hall and closed her eyes, waving her hand and firing out a golden light.
Only a few seconds later, the doors of the hall opened.
Liora’s eyes opened to see a woman walk inside.
“My Lord.” Alpha saluted respectfully, and Liora motioned for her to get up.
Then, she went straight to the point.
“Has anything happened while I was in seclusion? Have there been any changes in the Demon World?”
“Reporting to my Lord. Following your disappearance, the Demon World has mostly been calm.” Alpha answered.
“Although there are undercurrents, with many Rulers making plans on how to interact with you, no person or group has taken action against us. This includes the Fallen Angel race you previously offended.”
“It is as though the previous battle never happened.”
Liora was not surprised by this answer, having already expected it.
However, this was not what she wanted to hear when she asked her question.
“Have there been any other changes? The death of a powerhouse, the creation of a new Demon Layer. It doesn’t necessarily have to be related to us,” she asked again.
This time, Alpha did not rush to answer her question.
She remained silent for a few seconds, shaking her head before nodding.
“If I have to mention a change, it would be that a strange secret realm has appeared in the depths of the Demon World. It is located not far away from the second Demon Layer.”
“Although I haven’t personally visited it, I’ve heard that it’s extraordinary, with a history stretching back billions of years. Unfortunately, I can’t obtain any more information without revealing my true strength. Thus, I’ve yet to collect complete information about it.”
Hearing this, Liora raised her eyebrows.
She was not unfamiliar with secret realms, having entered several of them before.
Under normal circumstances, she shouldn’t have been surprised to hear about the birth of a new one.
However, she was.
She had a hunch: the previous tremor in the River of Time was perhaps because of that secret realm’s birth.
The more Liora thought about it, the more certain she became of this.
She wasted no time.
After giving Alpha a few more instructions, her figure ascended through the dimensions as she performed a Dimensional Leap.
Soon, she had left the Primordial Sin World and entered the Demon World outside the Demon Layers.
Then, she rapidly descended.
