Chapter 771: Images
Chapter 771: Images
Three figures stood in front of the secret realm’s entrance, each surrounded by a large army.
Two men. One woman.
Had it been before, Liora would have failed to recognize their identities.
Now, however, she did.
Original Truth Demon Lord.
True Angel Demon Lord.
Willow God Demon Lord.
The owners of the first three Demon Layers and the most unfathomable figures in the Demon World.
No one dared to provoke these people.
According to the Mountain Demon Lord, it was highly likely that these Devils had already reached the Absolute Beginning stage and were only a sliver away from advancing further, merely lacking the method to do so.
Of course, the Mountain Demon Lord could not confirm his suspicion.
Only the three of them could be certain whether that was true.
Over the years, these people had clashed many times, not only because of the lineages standing behind them, but also because of their personal grudges.
After all, a world could only have one “strongest” person. How could these Devils be willing to share that position and fame with anyone else?
Seeing the three confront each other, their auras clashing in the air, Liora’s expression grew serious.
She glanced at them, then at the entrance to the Land of Origin, and a glint flashed through her crimson eyes.
“Since these three have come, this secret realm must be extremely valuable.”
“At the very least, the secrets it holds should be useful to those seeking to advance to the level of Prince or Princess of the Demon World.”
Liora could sense that these three powerhouses were not the only ones of their level who had gathered here. Besides those standing in the open, several auras were lurking nearby.
Due to her practice of the Primordial Sin Art, Liora could detect them more easily than others.
She could also roughly estimate their strength.
According to her senses, several of the hidden Devils were unfathomable. At the very least, they stood on the same level as the True Angel Demon Lord and the other two.
While observing her future competitors, Liora did not forget to communicate with the Mountain Demon Lord in the hopes of learning more about the Land of Origin.
Perhaps because he wanted to gain her help later, the Mountain Demon Lord answered all her questions without hesitation.
“…Unfortunately, all I can send here is a clone. If not for my status as a Primordial Devil, I wouldn’t even be able to stand here.”
“I’m afraid my strength is barely above that of an Antiquity Devil at the moment. Once we enter the secret realm, it’s likely this clone will be lost,” the Mountain Demon Lord sighed regretfully, nearly beating his chest in frustration.
From an onlooker’s perspective, he seemed truly upset about missing this opportunity.
In response, Liora remained noncommittal.
She continued their conversation as though nothing had happened, steering it back to the Land of Origin and its information.
Under such circumstances, time quickly passed.
More and more Devils gathered outside the secret realm as many slumbering beings awakened due to the previous tremor in the River of Time.
In the blink of an eye, the already crowded area became even more packed.
At the same time, the entrance to the secret realm began to change.
First, its size slowly increased.
From a height of about fifty meters, it rapidly grew even taller.
One hundred meters. Two hundred. Five hundred.
Before long, the white gate could be measured in “kilometers.”
At the same time, the patterns on its surface began to glow.
Like tiny snakes or flowing water, they moved rapidly across its surface. Anyone who observed them became dizzy.
An ancient aura radiated from the gate, looking as though it had stood for countless years and was even older than the Origin Sea itself.
Seeing these changes, everyone, including Liora and the Mountain Demon Lord, focused on the gate with anticipation.
They knew the time had come.
Indeed.
Only a few minutes later, the entire gate trembled violently, as though an earthquake were taking place.
The patterns on its surface lit up, and countless scenes appeared before the Devils in the form of moving images.
In some of them, powerful beings fought in the sky, leveling entire worlds with nothing more than the shockwaves produced from their battles.
In others, those same beings suffered the punishment of the Supreme Laws, struck by lightning and perishing under its might.
There were even images of them prostrating themselves before a towering creature that seemed larger than the Origin Sea itself.
The last image in particular shocked the Devils.
They could see that all the beings depicted in the images were at least Ancient Devils, with some having reached the Absolute Beginning stage. Some were suspected to be Princes or Princesses of the Demon World.
For such beings to worship another creature, just how powerful would they be?
Had it reached the peak of the Prince of the Demon World stage? Or had it gone even further, surpassing that level entirely?
Everyone was stunned.
They used every means at their disposal to uncover the identity of the towering creature.
Unfortunately, they all failed.
The creature was surrounded by a halo of time. It existed in neither the past, present, nor future, making any attempt to investigate its identity impossible.
The weaker Devils suffered backlash.
Many Archdevils exploded on the spot, while dozens of Ancient Devils coughed up blood, their auras fluctuating wildly.
“Hehe. It’s rare to see so many inexperienced Ancient Devils here,” Liora heard the Mountain Demon Lord comment.
“Who doesn’t know that you shouldn’t investigate the identities of the creatures depicted in those images?”
“Can the secrets of the past be seen so easily? Serves them right!”
A look of realization flashed across Liora’s face.
As she surveyed her surroundings, she discovered that those who had suffered backlash were all relatively young and unknown among Ancient Devils.
As for the older Devils, they remained unaffected, clearly having refrained from investigating the creature’s identity.
“Sure enough, living long enough is a great advantage even in a world where might tramples everything else.”
“I’m afraid most of these Ancient Devils have already visited the Land of Origin in the past and know what they should and shouldn’t do.”
“With this knowledge, exploring the secret realm should be countless times easier,” Liora thought.
