Chapter 1137: Who Is Michael Norman?
Chapter 1137: Who Is Michael Norman?
Just as Michael had expected, the moment awakeners across the universe returned to their respective worlds and had enough time to settle their thoughts, three names rapidly spread through countless realms.
Michael Norman. Aurora Realm. Universal Cornerstone.
For the overwhelming majority of awakeners, these three names were completely unfamiliar. Yet that only made them more important.
One had to remember that this wasn't an ordinary incident.
For the first time in recorded history, even Demigods had been forcibly dragged into an unfamiliar world. That fact alone was enough to shake the foundations of countless civilizations.
Many of those Demigods had entered confident in their own strength. Some never returned. Even beings standing at the peak of their worlds had died within the Origin Battlefield.
When one's own life became uncertain, every piece of information became priceless.
Contrary to what many mortals believed, the stronger a supernatural became, the more they feared death.
After spending centuries, sometimes millennia, climbing toward the peak, who would willingly throw everything away? It was precisely because they had so much to lose that powerful beings valued their lives even more.
Naturally, when the Origin Will itself suddenly announced a single individual's name before every awakener throughout the universe, ignoring it became impossible.
Compared to Michael Norman himself, most people were actually more interested in something else.
The Universal Cornerstone. What exactly was it? Why had the Origin Will specifically announced its acquisition?
Could it be the reason everyone had been dragged into the Origin Battlefield? Or perhaps it was merely connected to that reason.
In truth, very few cared whether it was directly responsible or not. At such a sensitive moment, anything acknowledged by the Origin Will immediately became the center of attention.
If the Origin Will had announced it, then it had to matter.
Powerful organizations and forces immediately began gathering information. Even secluded experts who had ignored worldly affairs for centuries were forced to emerge from isolation.
Though they didn't know who Michael Norman was or what the Universal Cornerstone was, the Origin Will had left one clue.
Aurora.
Compared to finding a single individual, finding a realm was considerably easier. And fortunately for many, Aurora turned out to be a realm whose name had already been slowly spreading across the universe, making it even simpler to locate.
Deep within Aurora, hidden behind layers of spatial barriers invisible to the outside world, lay an enormous independent secret realm.
It was the true headquarters of the Aurora Federation.
Suspended high above an endless sea of drifting clouds floated a landmass spanning hundreds of kilometers.
The entire island possessed a distinctly futuristic appearance. Countless silver-white buildings stretched across the floating land, their smooth metallic surfaces reflecting sunlight like polished mirrors.
Towering skyscrapers reached into the sky, connected by transparent bridges that seemed to hang unsupported in midair.
Streams of blue energy flowed beneath crystal roads instead of conventional power lines.
Vehicles without wheels silently glided through the air along predetermined routes, leaving behind trails of pale light before disappearing between enormous buildings.
Above the city, hundreds of floating platforms orbited like miniature satellites.
Some served as docking stations for aircraft. Others housed defensive weapons capable of threatening even high-ranking supernaturals.
Occasionally, massive warships several kilometers long slowly cruised through the sky. Their hulls were forged from rare alloys while thousands of runes continuously shimmered beneath their armored exteriors.
They resembled a fusion of magic and technology. Neither completely one nor the other. Rather, both had become inseparable.
Surrounding the entire floating island was an enormous translucent barrier. Its surface remained invisible most of the time.
Only when sunlight from the realm struck it from certain angles would faint ripples become visible, revealing the countless overlapping defensive formations protecting one of the Federation's most important locations.
This was Aurora's greatest fortress. Its final sanctuary and command center. The heart of the Federation.
At the very center of the island stood the tallest structure.
A magnificent tower over two thousand meters high pierced the clouds. Unlike the surrounding buildings, this tower appeared almost entirely crystalline.
Its surface resembled transparent glass, yet within it flowed rivers of golden light that continuously circulated from the base to the summit.
The closer one approached, the greater the invisible pressure became.
At the tower's peak, a circular conference hall overlooked the entirety of the floating city. The walls were fashioned entirely from transparent crystal, allowing one to observe every corner of the secret realm.
Normally, this place remained nearly empty. Only when matters concerning the entirety of Aurora arose would the highest authorities gather here.
Today, every seat was occupied.
The atmosphere was unprecedentedly solemn. No one spoke. The silence itself seemed heavy.
Many of the figures seated around the enormous circular table possessed auras so overwhelming that the surrounding space subtly distorted around them.
Some appeared middle-aged. Others looked like ordinary old men and women. One looked no older than sixteen. But appearances meant very little at their level. Each represented one of Aurora's greatest powers.
Above the center of the conference table floated a massive holographic projection. One name remained suspended in the air.
Michael Norman.
After a long period of silence, an elderly man with silver hair finally broke it.
"Everyone."
The elderly man sat at the head of the circular table. His silver hair was neatly combed behind him, while his aged face carried neither joy nor anger. He simply sat there quietly. Yet the moment one looked at him, an indescribable pressure naturally arose.
This was the Chairman of the Aurora Federation. One of the strongest experts in the entire Aurora Realm.
To his left and right sat six individuals each. Together with him, there were exactly thirteen people inside the conference hall.
The old man slowly opened his eyes. His calm gaze swept across everyone present before finally stopping on the holographic words floating above the conference table.
"Recently…" His aged voice echoed throughout the silent chamber. "…something concerning the entire universe, as we know it, has occurred."
