Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1190: Tricking A Demigod [1]

Chapter 1190: Tricking A Demigod [1]

She had noticed. Of course she had.

Michael's grip on Isabella's shoulder tightened slightly. The spatial power he had prepared remained ready.

The ghost studied him. Then, nothing happened. She simply leaned closer.

"What did you see?"

Michael paused. That question surprised him.

"You know I saw something?"

"Yes."

Michael relaxed slightly. At this point, he was infinitely grateful for the class he had chosen to transition into back then. If he had chosen any other class back then, regardless of how powerful it was, his reckless actions now would have gotten him killed ten times over.

Perhaps only the Shadow Slave or Grave Warden class would have differed slightly.

Michael remained silent for several moments. He had originally intended to leave. After all, his resurrection materials were already sufficient, and staying near a Demigod any longer than necessary was asking for trouble.

But now that he knew more about this ghost, suddenly, she looked extremely attractive. Not in the physical sense, of course. He only had one person in his heart, and his orientation was perfectly ordinary for a human. He would only see another human that way.

She looked extremely attractive in value. He wanted her. He really wanted her.

A wild Demigod undead with a Three-Star Epic race. If he could somehow bring her into his legion, his overall strength would rise enormously. And that was before considering the other Demigod corpse he intended to resurrect.

Two Demigods. Michael's heart accelerated just thinking about it. Most top-tier middle realms would consider two Demigods an overwhelming foundation.

With both under him, many of his current worries would disappear almost instantly. Even the Federation would have to treat such power seriously. More importantly, protecting his family would become easier.

Unfortunately, Michael looked at the ghost and immediately remembered the pressure from moments ago. There was one significant problem. He couldn't force her. Not even remotely.

Death's Heir clearly influenced her, but she was still a genuine Rank Five existence. Michael lacked the strength to enforce his will upon her. He couldn't beat her into submission, nor could he even force her to sit down and negotiate with him as an equal.

This left only one option remaining.

Michael's expression gradually became thoughtful.

I have to trick her.

The thought appeared naturally. He almost dismissed it, but stopped and reconsidered it properly.

The ghost was not stupid. Far from it. Her intelligence clearly wasn't inferior to his own, but looking past that, at some of her other characteristics, this overpowered ghost felt a bit... naive.

Michael still didn't know whether that was simply her natural personality or whether Death's Heir was making her unusually trusting toward him. Either way, there was no harm in testing it.

At worst, she refused. At slightly worse, well, Michael glanced toward the shattered ground. She had misunderstood him and nearly crushed him already.

In any case, his spatial escape remained prepared. This time he was so prepared he didn't even need to think of teleporting away, and instead had to force himself not to teleport. The moment his mind went blank, or he stopped thinking about it even accidentally, he would be out of here.

It's worth the risk.

Michael loosened his grip on Isabella's shoulder slightly and turned fully toward the ghost. She was still watching him curiously.

Michael chose his words carefully.

"Have you ever wanted to see the outside world?"

The ghost blinked in confusion.

"Outside?"

"Outside the Netherworld."

Her silver eyes became still. Michael immediately noticed the shift in her attention. *Good.* He continued.

"You said you've seen outsiders before."

"Yes."

"Do you know they come here from other worlds?"

The ghost nodded.

Michael gestured vaguely upward.

"Have you ever wondered where they came from?"

She didn't answer immediately. Her gaze drifted toward the dark sky beyond the ravine. For several seconds, Michael sensed something unfamiliar pass through her will.

Curiosity. A deeper kind than before.

"I have."

Michael's lips almost curved upward, but he quickly suppressed it.

"Have you ever gone there?"

The ghost shook her head.

"No."

"Why?"

She seemed confused by the question.

"Why would I?"

Michael paused. Right. Someone had to first possess the concept of wanting to travel before asking why they hadn't.

He quickly adjusted.

"Because there are things outside the Netherworld that don't exist here."

Her attention returned to him.

"What things?"

Michael almost smiled. This was what he wanted to see. While he might not succeed, the ghost entertaining him showed there was still a chance.

"Too many to explain."

The ghost floated closer.

"Explain."

"Living cities."

She stared.

"Cities?"

"Places where millions of beings gather together."

Her silver eyes widened slightly.

"Millions?"

"Sometimes more. There are so many things to see there than here."

Michael continued before she could interrupt.

"Don't you want a change of scenery?"

"To see different races. Food….."

The ghost tilted her head.

"Food?"

Michael looked at her translucent body.

"…Maybe that one isn't relevant."

Isabella's soul flames flickered behind him. He felt a stinging gaze at his back, but ignored it. He knew he had gotten carried away.

"Are there really places like that outside?" the ghost asked.

The ghost's silver eyes grew increasingly focused. Michael could feel her curiosity building. He could understand it a little. The Netherworld might be unimaginably vast, yet if she had spent most of her existence wandering through regions like this, the novelty of the material world alone would be enormous.

"Can I really see it?" the ghost asked.

Michael's heart began beating faster. This was going far better than expected. Yet he forced himself to remain cautious. A single mistake could still ruin everything.

He slowly smiled.

"Of course."

Then added the most important part.

"If you want."

The ghost stared at him. Michael stared back. For once, neither communicated through will.

Then the ghost's silver eyes curved slightly.

"I want to see."

Michael's smile deepened. However, before his happiness could settle, the ghost poured cold water on him.

"But I don't want to do anything for you."
