Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1195: Panel [2]

Chapter 1195: Panel [2]

Michael read the description of the skill and could understand the general idea easily enough.

Possession-type abilities were hardly rare among ghosts. In fact, depending on the species, possessing living creatures could practically be considered one of their defining abilities.

Some ghosts used possession simply to move through the material world. Others used it to feed on vitality. Certain malicious spirits could even slowly corrupt a host until nothing remained except an empty body under their control.

So the foundation of Divine Incarnation Possession wasn't particularly difficult to understand. What made this version unusual was everything built on top of it.

Perhaps it was because of her race, or because she had reached the Demigod realm. Or maybe it was a combination of both. Whatever the case, this was clearly no ordinary possession skill.

The possessed target didn't merely become a puppet. They could actually begin inheriting properties from the ghost herself.

Michael's expression became thoughtful.

If the amount of power transferred depended on how much of herself the ghost invested into the host, then Divine Incarnation Possession wasn't merely a utility or infiltration skill.

It was an enhancement skill. And potentially an absurd one.

Michael immediately looked toward the ghost.

"How much stronger can you make someone with this?"

She tilted her head in confusion.

"When you enter someone."

Understanding appeared in her silver eyes.

"Oh."

She floated closer.

"A lot."

Michael's eyelid twitched.

"How much is 'a lot'?"

The ghost became thoughtful.

Michael waited.

The ghost's silver eyes moved across his body. Her expression gradually changed.

"You…"

She moved closer.

Michael remained still.

"You can hold a lot."

His heartbeat increased.

"How much?"

The ghost thought. Then answered simply.

"Most."

Michael froze.

"…Most of what?"

"Me."

Silence.

Michael's mind immediately began calculating.

Most of a Demigod.

If Divine Incarnation Possession could allow him to temporarily carry most of her properties and strength, his current combat ability was already absurd for Rank Three.

He could already compete with the foundation of an outside-world Level 100 mage, and could battle a physical-based supernatural of Level 90 for a period of time.

If he then layered the properties of a Level 112 Three-Star Epic Demigod over himself, Michael swallowed.

"That sounds disgusting."

The ghost tilted her head.

"Disgusting?"

"In a good way."

She seemed even more confused. Michael ignored her.

Michael's expression soon became strange.

Could she possess one of his undead?

The idea immediately opened another rabbit hole, but before his thoughts could run too far, he forced himself to return to the more obvious possibility.

Himself.

The ghost had already said he could contain most of her. That statement had been sitting in the back of his mind ever since she said it.

Michael stared at her for several seconds. Curiosity gradually defeated his reluctance.

"…What happens if you possess me? Will it harm me?"

The ghost became thoughtful.

Michael's expression turned serious.

"Think carefully."

He wasn't about to experiment with a Demigod possession ability based on one of her usual vague answers.

The ghost floated closer and stared at him. Her silver gaze moved across his body before sinking deeper.

Michael felt that familiar sensation of something brushing across his soul. His instincts immediately tightened, but he remained still.

Several seconds passed.

"No."

Michael's eyes narrowed.

"No what?"

"You won't break."

"That's reassuring."

She nodded as though she had given an excellent answer.

Michael rubbed his forehead.

"I mean afterward."

The ghost tilted her head.

"After?"

"Will there be damage to my soul?"

"No."

"My body?"

"No."

"My mind?"

She paused.

Michael's eyes sharpened.

"No."

"Then why did you take so long to answer?"

"I was thinking."

"…Right."

Michael continued.

"Could you accidentally take over my body?"

"Yes."

"…"

Michael immediately went silent.

The ghost added, "But I won't."

Michael stared at her.

"I promise."

There was no hesitation behind the intention.

Michael remembered the contract. She couldn't deliberately harm him. More importantly, Death's Heir already created a strange natural closeness between them.

Even if something went wrong, Michael suspected his class would make complete hostile possession extremely difficult.

Even now, he felt nothing but great goodwill from her toward him after signing the contract.

Michael sighed.

"Fine."

The ghost's silver eyes brightened.

"Do it."

She immediately floated toward him.

"Wait."

She stopped.

"This counts as work."

Michael froze.

The ghost stared at him. Michael stared back.

"…One crystal."

"Two."

Michael's eyebrow twitched.

"One."

"Two."

"One."

The ghost floated closer.

"Two."

Michael stared at her for several seconds. Then sighed.

"Fine. Two."

Her expression immediately became satisfied.

"Now."

"…Now?"

"Yes."

"After."

The ghost's eyes narrowed.

"Now."

"After the test."

"Why?"

"Because I'm not paying you before you do anything."

The ghost thought about it. Then nodded.

"Okay."

Michael took a slow breath.

"Isabella."

"Yes, Senior?"

"If anything strange happens…"

He paused. Then realized how useless that sentence was.

What exactly was Isabella supposed to do against a Demigod?

"…Just move away."

Isabella remained silent for a moment.

"Yes, Senior."

Michael relaxed his body.

"Alright."

He looked directly at the ghost.

"Start, please."

The ghost floated toward him. This time, Michael didn't resist.

Her translucent hand pressed against his chest.

It was cold, like the sensation of standing beneath winter rain.

Then her fingers sank through him.

Michael's pupils contracted.

The rest of her hand followed. Then her arm. The ghost continued drifting forward until half of her body overlapped with his.

Michael immediately felt something touch his soul. His instincts exploded.

For a fraction of a second, Michael nearly teleported away. Then he forcefully stopped himself and let the ghost continue to possess him.

BOOM!

Michael's aura changed.

Isabella, who had distanced herself, staggered backward. Her violet soul flames widened.

"Senior?!"

Michael didn't answer. He couldn't. He was too busy processing what had happened.

His black hair began turning silver from the roots. Frost spread across his skin in thin crystalline patterns. His pupils disappeared. Both eyes became completely silver.

At the same time, faint translucent mist drifted from his body.
