Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1258: Bomber [2]

Chapter 1258: Bomber [2]

The difference was shrinking.

Slowly. But it was shrinking.

Michael’s comprehension had always been monstrous, and after everything that had happened to him recently, it had only become more ridiculous. Watching himself fight was almost like having the perfect instructor standing across the battlefield, one who couldn’t lie, couldn’t hide anything.

There was no need to wonder what he had done wrong. The answer was standing directly in front of him, spear in hand, waiting to punish him if he failed to fix it fast enough.

But comprehension didn’t mean instant perfection. Knowing what to change and actually forcing the body to abandon ingrained habits were two very different things. Even Michael needed time to rebuild more than a year of accumulated instinct into something cleaner. And the reflected Michael wasn’t going to give him that time for free.

The copy suddenly stepped in, closing the distance faster than the rhythm of the exchange between them.

Michael reacted. Too late.

The Venomflare Lance grazed across his forearm, the edge barely catching skin.

It wasn’t a deep wound. Barely a cut, the kind he would have shrugged off without a second thought under any other circumstances.

But the moment the spearhead touched him...

FWOOSH!

Black fire erupted across his arm.

Michael’s jaw clenched.

"Shit."

The flames spread fast. From the cut, they crawled across his forearm toward his hand, clinging to flesh and clothing alike.

Michael hurriedly poured mana into the area. It was only after a sizable chunk of his reserves had been spent that he was able to put out the fire and let his body’s regenerative ability take over. Still, the sensation of his own poisonous fire biting into him wasn’t something he’d forget any time soon.

Michael quickly retreated.

The reflected Michael didn’t allow him the chance and gave chase.

The spear came again.

CLANG!

The impact forced him backward.

Michael’s jaw tightened further.

"You’re really irritating."

The copy said nothing and then stabbed again.

Michael avoided the strike by a hair.

Then another.

And another.

Black flames streaked through the air with every movement.

Michael continued adapting. His steps became smaller. His turns cleaner. His spear recovered faster after every attack.

But the reflection remained ahead.

Michael glanced at his burning hand. Then back at the other Michael.

A strange smile slowly appeared on his face.

Painful as this was...

This fight might actually be one of the best things the Origin Battlefield had ever given him.

Without warning, the reflected Michael suddenly discarded the Venomflare Lance.

Michael tensed.

"What are you..."

The copy lunged at him. Its hand reached directly toward Michael’s arm.

Michael reacted at once, twisting away, but his movements, even refined by his heightened comprehension, were still too slow to keep the copy from exploiting the opening.

Michael’s stomach dropped the moment the reflected Michael’s palm touched the back of his hand.

The copy’s skin darkened, and its flesh shriveled. Its arm had abruptly decayed.

"What the hell?"

Michael tried to pull away, but the copy held on.

A deep sense of unease suddenly surged through him.

"No way..."

The copied Michael’s arm swelled.

BOOOOOOM!

Its arm exploded.

Michael’s hand detonated with it.

The blast tore them apart in an instant. Both bodies were thrown in opposite directions. Michael spun through the air before forcing himself upright.

His feet struck the surface of the still water, sliding backward for hundreds of meters before finally stopping.

Pain shot through his head, and he quickly turned to check the arm the copy had touched.

His hand was gone.

Destroyed from just above the wrist.

Blood poured from the stump before his regeneration swiftly began closing the wound, and a second later, a new hand could be seen. This was an automatic action, without Michael’s intentional control. This was also the first time he had seen the full effect of his body’s healing factor.

It was indeed fast, not any weaker than using his Law to copy Beginning’s Law of brutal rebirth to heal.

Michael looked up. Across from him, the reflected Michael’s arm had regenerated.

"...Corpse Explosion?"

That was definitely Corpse Explosion.

But this time... it hadn’t been used on a corpse.

Or rather...

Realization struck him.

"So that’s possible?"

The logic clicked into place almost at once.

Corpse Explosion didn’t care about the original identity of what it detonated. It needed dead matter that could carry death energy and be recognized as a corpse or corpse fragment. That was all.

If he could force a part of the body into a sufficiently dead state...

Then technically, that body part became usable.

"What the fuck? Are you a suicide bomber?!"

Fear took hold in Michael’s heart. At the same time, his excitement didn’t disappear. If anything, it became sharper.

He was learning. Really learning.

So one could really play like this?

Not just refining what he already knew, but discovering applications he had never even considered before.

Unfortunately, the reflected Michael had no intention of giving him time to appreciate that. Its regenerated arm moved.

Michael’s breath caught.

"Don’t tell me..."

The copy grabbed its own forearm. Decay spread across the limb at once.

Michael’s face twisted.

"No."

The arm swelled. Michael turned around and ran.

BOOOOOOM!

The reflected Michael’s forearm exploded behind him. The blast tore across the water. Michael accelerated harder, letting the shockwave push him forward instead of trying to resist it.

Behind him, the copy’s arm had already regenerated. Michael glanced back and saw this.

"You’ve got to be kidding me."

Another hand decayed. Another explosion followed.

BOOM!

The reflected Michael chased. Michael’s instincts screamed and he changed direction.

BOOOOOOM!

The blast caught Michael from the side and sent him tumbling across the water. He recovered almost at once and pushed himself upright.

The copy started approaching him. Michael stared at it.

"This is insane."

The reflected Michael decayed part of its thigh. Michael’s mouth twitched.

"You’re seriously using your leg now?"

BOOM!

The explosion launched the copy forward. Understanding hit Michael a heartbeat too late: it hadn’t merely used the blast as an attack, it had used it for movement.

The reflected Michael shot through the air at terrifying speed, propelled by the detonation of its own leg. Michael barely raised an arm before the copy appeared in front of him. Its fist slammed into his chest.

BOOM!

Michael was thrown backward. His body skipped across the black water several times before he twisted and landed on his feet. Pain spread through his chest, but what bothered him more was the realization.

"...You can use Corpse Explosion for propulsion too?"
