Chapter 1827: Prioritize Concerns
Chapter 1827: Chapter 1827: Prioritize Concerns
Lifelike, as if Bai Xing stood right before her eyes.
She didn’t know what was wrong with her, always feeling a sense of loss since she had returned, but what was she missing? Unable to figure it out, she rolled up the painting and placed it in the Painting Jar beside her.
Jiang Yue and Xue Yan sat with their family for quite a while before returning to their room. Their Xue Yan had gone out to play with the children; today, her tasks were complete, and she could play to her heart’s content until it was dark and time for dinner.
As they passed Ganggang’s room, through the wide-open window, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan saw Ganggang sitting at the desk, her hands cradling her face, lost in thought.
Jiang Yue and Xue Yan exchanged a glance but didn’t hurry to say anything and continued back to their room.
Back in the room, Jiang Yue sat on the kang, poured a cup of tea from the small table, took a sip, and then said, “Have you noticed that Ganggang seems a bit off?”
As Xue Yan changed into a different coat, he laughed and replied, “She is indeed a bit off.” After a pause, he added, “In the Beast World, Bai Xing is too different, no wonder she’s a bit partial to him.”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yue also smiled a bit, “I too think she’s taken a liking to Bai Xing. But they’ve only spent a few days together; it’s not enough to deepen feelings significantly. If Ganggang truly feels this way, she’ll eventually open up to us, saying she wants to go to the Beast World again. If not, even if she likes Bai Xing now, she will gradually forget him over time.”
“Hmm,” Xue Yan agreed.
So, they didn’t need to say anything to Ganggang; they would watch and see how she decided for herself.
Ganggang was not like Xue Bai, who could be stubborn sometimes, needing intervention from the family, but Ganggang, although mischievous and playful, generally handled things quite well and seldom caused her family any concern.

Although her foot injury had healed considerably, it would still take a couple more days to be fully recovered. Naturally, Ganggang had deceived the family, claiming she sprained it while running errands for Jiang Yue and Xue Yan.
The family, not thinking it was serious, wasn’t too worried, but they still made chicken soup, bone broth, and other foods to properly nourish Ganggang.
The next day, Ganggang rested her foot injury at home.
After another day of recovery and feeling better, she couldn’t sit still and went out to have fun in town and also took the opportunity to learn a few things in the main shop with her brother Xue Shi.

In another part, the Beast World.
Bai Yin, worried about his elder brother Bai Xing, traveled day and night to the Yao Tribe. He had initially thought his elder brother had met with mishap, but discovered him busily commanding the Beastmen to dig canals to divert water to their waterless territory. The Yao Tribe’s land had large areas where the grass was hoed, the soil turned over, and many targets set up, section by section, but its purpose was unclear.
“Big brother, are you all right?” Bai Yin could not bother with those details first, prioritizing his brother’s well-being.
Bai Xing stood next to the canal while many Beastmen of the Beastmen Legion were mobilized to hurry and plant anything sustainable. Thus, although it had only been four or five days, a lot of wasteland had been turned over, and the canal was almost complete.
Before Jiang Yue and Xue Yan returned to Da Ling, they had told him they had visited the Fei Tribe to inquire about him and knew they had suddenly disappeared in front of Bai Yin, so they anticipated that his worry would bring him here. Now that Bai Xing saw his younger brother, it was only natural that he wasn’t surprised.
