Fate Online: Shadow

Chapter 46: New Skills

At another corner in the continent.

"Someone actually advanced at the same time as me?" Amanda muttered while gazing at the blue sky.

At Haven City.

"Interesting"

"Solitary Tempest...I look forward to meeting you" Michael smiled, as the badge flew from his hands by itself and attached itself on his right shoulder.

It was a badge of recognition and something that allows him to leave the beginner zone earlier from the rest!

Everyone was excited about it, that almost everyone even forgot the two people behind this event, but the people who mostly paid attention to them are those in the World Player Rankings.

"One Solitary Tempest is already an annoyance towards the top, but this Shadow's skill is even on par with her!?" a Level 9 Barbarian snorted coldly, while he and his team are currently raiding a Field Boss called [Triple Horned Bear].

At another place.

"Just who is this guy?" a Level 9 male Hunter said with annoyance, feeling that his spotlight was taken away from him.

Now...all the experts are now thoroughly paying attention to this newcomer who could actually compete with Solitary Tempest, the 1st Ranker, in the player rankings in terms of achievements and leveling speed!

And the most unnerving about this new guy is that he's also a lone player like Solitary Tempest, but at the same time, it's also relieving for them because he doesn't move with a group like them and the other experts...or he would truly become a huge threat towards them!

At the City Lord's Mansion.

A small bird just flew over and landed on one of Marcus's shoulders.

"I see...so the young lad had finally become a full pledge adventurer" Marcus smiled as the bird then flew off somewhere.

"I really wonder if you're truly qualified to join the League?" Marcus smiled then continued, "Now..we can only wait and see"

Eleven miles away from Haven City, South.

One of the people behind this commotion is currently on the road, while riding on the back of a wagon that Michael hitched a ride along the dirt road.

"I've never seen you around these parts, you new here lad?" said a kind looking old man, who is driving a small wagon full of vegetables in boxes, and currently being pulled by a huge Level 15 burly horse called [Mountain Horse] and its looks like a Belgian Horse from the real world.

"Ahhh..yeah. It's my first time travelling out of Haven City" still wearing his black cloak, Michael turned towards the white haired old man and answered, and the old man's level is a shockingly Level 30, and the old man didn't even mind him hiding his appearance, like it wasn't something unusual or the old man just didn't care.

The same as those city guards from Haven City, which is somewhat amazing as except for soldiers, the NPCs he had met so far are only around Level 7 or 10.

"Where you headed then?"

"Are there any nearby villages or towns around here?"

"Hmm...there's a mining village two miles up ahead, It's where I'm headed, I'm actually a resident there and just went to the city to buy some necessities that can't be found in our village" the old man replied, and as he said those words, he stopped the cart as there is a fork up ahead of them.

One is the main path, while there's another path that diverge from the main road and goes towards the right, surrounded by woods as someone goes deeper inside.

"If you want to come with me, then you can decide now as I would be taking the right path from here on out, or you can just drop from here, and follow the main road, where you'll arrive at a town for another twenty miles or so" the old man, called Hanks said as he turned to look at Michael.

"I'll come with you old man. I'm curious of what your village looks like" Michael laughed, but thought inside, 'Mining village? Maybe I could get a rare ore or something, and use it to forge something'

"Great! You won't be disappointed" Hanks laughed heartily as he directed his horse to take the path on the right, in the direction of his village.

And along the way, Michael opened his skill list and inspected his new skills that came from his class advancement.

Skills Section:

Passive Skills:

Level 2 Ambush

Level 1 Dagger Mastery

Active Skills:

Level 2 Stealth

Level 5 Bleed

Level 2 Shadow Blur

Level 1 Shadow Dance

Michael clicked at the Shadow Dance skill, and immediately, another window appeared in front of him, showing him the properties of the skill.

[Shadow Dance]

When used, the user hides himself in a cloud of shadows, becoming immune to detection.

Attacking, casting spells, and using items will not reveal the user. Passively, when out of combat, the user gains a bonus of 10% in movement speed and health regeneration.

Additional Effects:

+20% Speed Bonus when active.

+5% Max Health as Regen per Second.

Active Duration: 4 seconds

Mana Cost: 120

Cooldown: 100 seconds

Restrictions: Chaser Class

"Sweet!" Michael can't help but exclaim, as he thought that the skill is too much for a first class advancement, as the usage of the skill is too overpowered, especially during a PK or PVP.

And players, choosing the same path as him would certainly gain a huge advantage towards the other classes, especially those with low defense.

But what Michael didn't know is that the skills gained during the class advancement are given in random, so his worry of other players having the same skill as he is, is unfounded.

After all, if another [Chaser] who doesn't have the skill but managed to loot it from a monster, then the skill would be labelled as an Epic Grade skill!

But without knowing that, Michael's excitement was short lived as he turned his attention to the last skill.

[Dagger Mastery]

Increases 15% damage of all Dagger related items.

Restrictions: All related Assassin class, except other advancement paths that does not use daggers.

"That's it?" Michael raised an eyebrow as he had expectations for this skill.

"I thought it would be even more amazing as it's passive skill" Michael muttered under his breath.

"Maybe it's a late bloomer?" Michael chuckled, and so he added his last remaining skill point/s on the skill.

[Dagger Mastery]

Increases 20% damage of all Dagger related items.

Restrictions: All related Assassin class, except other advancement paths that does not use daggers.

"Oh? 5% as an increase? Not bad" Michael said, a bit satisfied.

Michael then put his free attributes for +10 Intelligence and +5 Strength.
