Chapter 526: The Terminator?

Rratatatata!

Shatter! Shatter! Shatter!

During the earlier first few minutes of the engagement, two armed gunmen hiding behind the wall on the right corner of the mansion were whispering to each other in hush tones, and around them were the sound of glass shattering and the continuous hail of machine gun fire.

"Hey, shouldn't we escape at this point? I heard those guys are the real deal"

"Shut up! Do you want to be blacklisted? We stay here and wait for reinforcements! With this much noise, I'm sure backup is already on the way! So calm down and get your bearings straight if you don't want to die, kid!" the older gentleman berated his companion who looks decades younger than him.

[Everyone, heed my commands! All idle hands are to regroup at the front gate!]

"Let-s g-"

"I'm sorry, old man. I can't risk you losing your life here or I wouldn't be able to face your daughter. Just go to sleep for now, everything will be over after you wake up"

Slap! Slap! Slap!

"W..what are you d-doing? Let go of me"

Both men heard the new command they received at the intercom, the older gentleman was about to turn around when he was suddenly cut off mid sentence when his companion suddenly wrapped his arms around his head and neck, and placed him into a sleeper hold while the old gentleman restlessly tapped the man's arms and in a gurgled voice, he tried to order him to let him go.

He tried to break free, but the young man proved to be much stronger than him.

"No.."

Before closing his eyes, the old man let out a voice filled with helplessness, and his eyes had that expression like he couldn't believe that he'd be "betrayed" like this from someone close to him.

"Sorry old man" the young man uttered as he slowly let go of the old man and slowly lifted him over his shoulders in what the military calls the "fireman's carry".

The young man cautiously looked around him and when he saw that no one was paying attention to them, he sneakily made his way over to the collapsed wall on the side and escaped the scene from there.

Bang!

Their departure was followed by a loud bang that echoed throughout the mountain range. Simultaneously followed by the sound of something heavy falling down, which was followed by a long pause on one of the machine guns.

They escaped, but their fate remained unknown.

"Deserters?"

On a slope, Genesis is lying down on a flat rock where he's able to see the whole of the mansion and its surroundings. Through his scope, Genesis had noticed the young man escaping with the old man on his shoulders and watched them for a short moment.

He ignored them and quickly turned his attention back to the battlefield, where the armed gunmen who were slowly encircling on the position of Monk and Benny earlier had already scattered from their formation, as they had either laid flat on the ground and used the flora around as a cover or hid behind the trees.

Smash!

When he had just taken out his fifth victim, something suddenly smashed on the rock he was lying down on and the expression on Genesis' face quickly changed as he quickly pulled his head down and crawled backwards.

"They got a sniper too huh?" Genesis chuckled as he crouched down and slowly, but cautiously moved towards the lower left side of the rock since the attack from earlier came from his two o'clock.

And while Genesis is busy looking for his sniper, the battle below him had once again resumed as Monk and Benny had started exchanging fire at the armed men that were trying to surround them earlier.

Ratatata!"

"Die!" an unknown gunman suddenly appeared from behind a tree and shot at Monk with madness in his eyes!

Bang! Bang!

Monk with reflexes honed from many years of fighting instinctively dove to the side and fired back at the gunman midair!

The poor gunman welcomed two holes on his body, one on his chest and another on his neck as he slowly tumbled forward before falling on the ground with a thud.

"Grrr, I really hate taking the front, prick!" Monk grumbled and cursed at Genesis for taking his position as a sniper.

"And I really like that Dragunov too! Die! Die! Die!"

"Ahh! I don't want to do this anymore!"

"Heyyy! What are you doing, you bastard?! Come back here!"

Just being reminded of what happened before this drove him mad that he even came out of hiding and started shooting at their assassailants with madness! He didn't bother hiding at this point as he kept shooting back like he was the Terminator himself!

While at the back, Benny is seen yelling at him in panic as he didn't expect such recklessness from him!

The amazing thing is that the bullets flying towards him are barely grazing past him in what we'd call a miracle at this point or their enemies are just lousy shots!

"Oi! Oi! Oi! Are you trying to get killed?!"

Benny immediately dashed over to him and tackled him to the ground, who were just in time to save him as an RPG flew past the place where Monk were standing on earlier!

Boom!

The rocket struck the rock they were hiding on before and blew it to pieces!

Slap!

"Get it together, you bastard!" Benny gave the man a hard slap as they hid behind a large tree.

After getting slap on the face, Monk seemed to had suddenly woken up from his madness earlier, and he let out a chuckle when he saw Benny looking at him like he was about to punch him, "I apologize"

"Damn, you can't be doing that. Get your bearings and let's quickly finish what we came here for before reinforcements come! We only have less than ten minutes left, my people won't be able to hold them off for long. We gotta make this quick if we want to escape this place with no troubles" Benny replied, while the shooting behind them had ceased as their enemies could be seen regrouping again.

Surprised by the latter part of his words, Monk said, "What do you mean by that? Did you do something behind our backs?"

"I'll explain later. First, we gotta hurry up. I don't want you going mad again. Ugh! Now, I know why people has called you the Mad Monk"
