Chapter 533: Everyone is Silently Making Their Preparations
Chapter 533: Everyone is Silently Making Their Preparations
"Whoa~ that's…that's a lot of monsters. Can we even stop that?"
A group of players arrived at a mountain cliff facing the Neverwinter Border.
From there, they can see the vast expanse that the Monster Horde is occupying and like the players who had the same idea and followed some of the coalition party on this mountain, this party of players made all it almost all the way to the top of the mountain but even then, they still can't see where the Monster Horde ends.
"I t-think so? Besides, we're not even the main force, it's the soldiers from neighboring kingdoms who had hastily gathered here and there are even more reinforcements coming, so.." replied one of his party members, though she can't hide the growing anxiety on her face.
"I know this is only a game, but damn, this is even bigger than the recent Undead Horde and it's giving me chills!"
"But even more dangerous! Look at those Wyverns in the skies, then those Ice Trolls, and let's also not forget that humongous red skinned Orc. If no other monsters were present, then this would have been called an Orc Horde!"
"Those Goblin Magic Riders are also bad news, getting bombarded by Fireballs isn't a very pleasant experience"
On one of the mountains that were turned into human strongholds, the players chatted amongst themselves as they analyzed the array of monsters consisting of the horde through the use of their telescopes, though it wasn't only them as the others were also doing the same thing.
There were also some stupid players who sent their flying pets to scout ahead and got them brutally killed by the Wyverns.
On the other hand, the commanders remained vigilant as they had their soldiers constantly patrol the surrounding areas while delegating some tasks to the players.
Pretty much the areas along these parts are occupied by the kingdoms, principalities and duchies who arrived here first.
Currently, the leaders of the various nations had gathered inside a huge ger at the middle of the coalition army.
The various leaders sat surrounding a battlefield map laid out on the round table before them.
"Still no news about why the Monster Horde had stopped their advance?" the King of the Turkan Kingdom asked aloud, his tone filled with worry and impatience.
"Don't bother asking, the Fire Dragon King is still not allowing us an audience. So I still stand on my opinion that he's waiting for the rest of the Kingdoms to arrive" Zekkan's King replied with his chin resting on his intertwined fingers.
"Or more accurately, the Orvon Kingdom. After all, it's where humanity's strongest is said to reside and living like a hermit" Makarov, the current leader of Pan Kingdom that had just ended their civil war recently and still revitalizing their lands had also attended.
On an additional note, the Pan Kingdom is the only place where players have gained a foothold, especially the players of the Edyrem Alliance who are busy "helping" with war reparations through various quests with the promise of nobility after the kingdom stabilizes, and this is after they had helped to overthrow the Tyrant King.
"So we can only spend a few more days here huh, I can only hope that this won't end up into a war. I'd rather spend more on supplies than my people dying" Duke Cympyr said with worry, and the rest all nodded in agreement since for small nations such as them, losing even a tenth of their population would be a huge blow to them, especially towards their agriculture.
"We just need to patiently wait seven more days and all reinforcements would have arrived by then. Let's just hope the monsters won't decide to attack us during that time"
Following that, the leaders engaged in small talks, mostly in business like what this kingdom currently needs and then this kingdom would sell it to them, and the other smaller kingdoms from the above mentioned also took this opportunity to expand their connections.
Even though the danger of the Monster Horde is looming over the horizon, they still had the leisure to engage in businesses that would benefit their respective nations.
Just what you'd expect from some of this group of leaders, even dangers does not deter them when they smell money and opportunity to make their life easier.
In another corner of the continent, in a place that snows all year round.
[I'm almost there]
"I know, I can see you on the map" receiving his girlfriend's message, Shadow casually replied while watching her location constantly moving on the map while laid out on the snow, he had totally let his guard down.
[The Monster Horde still hadn't made a move, could they be waiting for Sage Laura to appear? After all, she represents the human race] Solitary Tempest sent a message while cautiously moving from one hiding place to another, minimizing her presence in the surroundings as much as possible as there's still a lot of monsters remaining in the Dragon Valley.
"I'm also getting the feeling that this event is really related to the Main Quest. The development is too big, it involves almost the entire Western Continent" Shadow said while browsing the game community as countless threads are discussing the current situation in the game.
Solitaire Tempest rolled her eyes and replied, "Thanks, Captain Obvious! At this point, of course the Monster Horde is certainly involved with the Main Quest! Even a Fire Dragon King had already made its appearance, even the other major races are alarmed and had already started making preparations in case the human coalition army fails to stop them"
"Really? It seems like your network is more reliable than mine huh" Shadow was a little surprised since he hadn't expected that she had already made connections with the other major races in the game.
[Well, my master is part Druid after all. So I also made a few connections when I was still under his tutelage, so unlike your master who only gave you a "magical" shovel and immediately kicked you out of her nest like you were a pest]
Hearing her laughing from the other side, Shadow also couldn't help it but joined her in laughing as he also realized that his master was also a little shitty at the beginning, though she compensated for it by giving him reliable items or quests whenever he stops by to visit her.
"Thinking about it, except for the skill for harvesting herbs, I still hadn't gotten any notable skills from her. I think I should visit her after this"
[I'll come with you! I would have forgotten that I also need to deliver something to her that my master had entrusted me if you didn't mention it]
"Sure, why not"
