Chapter 559: Spicy Cabbage Stew
Chapter 559: Spicy Cabbage Stew
Awoooo!
The Alpha Wolf let out a despairing cry as it was finally defeated by the combined efforts of the Orion Guild.
"Damn! It was only an Elite Monster, but it was even harder than facing a Wild Boss!"
"It's to be expected since this is a higher level map, but for real though, I didn't expect that it would actually drop its Essence. I wonder if the Guild Leader would turn it into a Mount or brew it into a Potion?"
"It's a quadruped, so she'll probably turn it into a Mount since it turned out be a Rare one, a huge contrast from its earlier Elite status"
"The only question now is who will become highest bidder later"
"On that note, how about lending me some gold? I'd like to try and get my hands on it"
"Oh f*ck off, I'm saving my gold for the exchange. My daughter's birthday is coming up and for the first time, I'm planning to throw a small party for her with the savings I made"
"Wait, you're a father? I thought you were bum!"
"W-what?! F*ck you as*hole!"
From their already small number from before, their number was now reduced to a mere twenty one, losing over half of their members from today's battle with the wolf pack.
'If it was some other guild, I would not have even agreed into travelling together with them'
With the decreased in their number, the Orion Guild was relegated as the rear guard of the group since it would just be suicide if they take on the vanguard position. Of course, their current position is not without risk since they could still be attacked from monsters that would try to pursue them from behind.
'The problem now is that one of the Baronet titles would certainly go to them. If I think about the information we have with them so far, like the Flame Rose Guild, wouldn't the War Angel Guild be their next closest ally? Damn, if what I'm thinking is right, doesn't that mean that the two Baronet positions are already occupied? Then that would leave us the Knight titles. Damn, I really thought we had the chance of taking that Baronet title, but it seems we should just be satisfied of having a minor noble among our ranks'
Haruka was feeling anxious and a little dissatisfied with their current circumstances, but when she really thought about it, she really does not have any foundation to complain since their guild is not even anywhere close to the Revenant Guild or any of their members at all.
'I just hope that there aren't a lot of us competing for those titles or this endeavor would have been a huge failure if we fail to secure even one of those Titles'
Meanwhile,
Maverick was at the very front of the group and was in the midst of talking to someone through the private messaging.
[It's the usual players here at the village. There's still no new faces or even a small guild that have arrived here sir] reported the team leader of the players that were stationed at Snow Village.
Maverick looked at his map and replied, [We're not far from reaching the village. It seems like the War Angel Guild is lagging behind us. Any other reports you have for me?]
[Yes sir, the village recently held a feast and we received this food that permanently raised our Max Mana by 30 and a slight increase in Fire Resistance and Fire Damage]
Maverick was surprised, [30?! That's one extra usage of the Shield Bash. You didn't forget to take a screenshot of it, right?]
[I didn't forget sir, I'm sending you the image, right now]
Ding!
An image was sent to his mailbox, and Maverick immediately opened it.
[Spicy Cabbage Stew]
Imbued with Fire Elemental Energy.
A dish made with the capable hands of a skilled chef.
It would provide miraculous benefits upon consumption.
A cabbage stew mixed with bits of wolf meat.
- When consumed, it permanently increases Mana by 30, Fire Resistance by 5% and Fire Damage by 2%.
Type: Food
Shelf Life: 1 Day
Dish Rank: Rare+++
Note: Repeated consumption would not increase attributes.
"What the, that's insane. Cereal Killer would be envious if he sees this since he's a Fire Wizard, and that increase in Fire Resistance and Fire Damage is crazy since most Wizards in the game had picked the Fire Element"
Maverick was surprised at the insane buffs that the dish had permanently provided, and at the same time, he's also envious since as a Tank user, he also wants the additional Fire Resistance.
It would be a game changer in the latter stages of the game since Elemental Resistances are extremely hard to come by.
[I almost forgot. It seems like the village had managed to produce a magical crop and that dish was the result of it sir] the team leader hurriedly added.
[You're telling me that it produced this dish you guys ate last night?] Maverick replied.
[Yes sir]
[Hmmm..I see, good work] With that, the communication was cut off.
Noticing that Maverick had finished what he was doing, one of the players walking just a step behind him asked, "How is it going over there sir?"
"Seems like we'd be first ones to arrive" Maverick answered with a smile.
The player somehow felt that smile held a deeper meaning, but even though he was extremely curious, he refrained from asking. He knows that he wouldn't get a straight answer, a good example are those players stationed at Snow Village, they're really great at keeping their mouths shut.
'Uggh! The longer I stay in this guild, the more it feels like it's actually a family of an organized syndicate with how tight-lipped and rigid some of the members are, especially those in the top. I wonder what kind of people they really are in real life. Haa~ I only continued to stick around since they pay really well to players like us who are competent enough to enter the Top 10,000'
The player thought and continued the trek while dreaming of one day reaching the Top 1000 where the big money lies.
