Feng Yin Tian Xia
Hua Zhu Yu wouldn’t have ever thought – even in her dreams – that when she had raced to the execution platform, the Marquis of Pin Xi, Hua Mu, had forever closed his eyes. The cause of his death was poison. Before he had even been pulled onto the execution platform, he had been poisoned.
Hua Zhu Yu dismissed all of the orphan army and the couple of generals she had saved. She, Pin the First, Kang the Third, and Dan Hong buried Hua Mu into the desolate yellow sands of the West Borderland (Xi Jiang). There was not even a tombstone; it only had a small burial mound.
Hua Zhu Yu kneeled in front of the mound with frightening calm. There was no expected tears. Her eyes were dry as the tears had flowed dry long ago. Yet her heart felt like it was getting chopped to pieces by knives. In the end, she had not been able to protect her father’s life.
Her satin-like black hair cascaded down her shoulders. Her battle robe fluttered in the wind. Her whole body was surrounded with a frigid cold. Behind the refined silver mask, that pair of clear eyes were actually transparent red and cold to the extreme. After an unknown amount of time, she finally stood up and quietly said: “Let’s go!”
The pursuing soldiers were perhaps about to come. Right now, she didn’t want to do anything except to live. As long as she lived, she could exonerate the dead and let them rest in peace.
She softly said: “We currently cannot return to the South Kingdom. You all should find a hiding place.”
“General, where are you going? Can we go with you?” Dan Hong anxiously asked as she grabbed Hua Zhu Yu’s dyed red sleeves.
Pin the First and Kang the Third all had expression of antic.i.p.ation as well.
“No. None of you can come with me. I am going alone.” She said in a low voice.
From now on, in this vast world, she had no other family that she could rely on. She could only be in solitude.
“General, you must abandon us?” Dan Hong pursed her lips.
Hua Zhu Yu decisively flipped onto the horse. In this event, they had put in a lot of effort and help. Right now, she was no longer a general and she also didn’t want to involve them into her difficulties. They should have their own lives.
“Alright then. Since the general continues to persist in the decision we won’t object. How about this. After three months, we all meet again in Yu Province.” Pin the First’s black eyes looked at Hua Zhu Yu with a heavy expression.
Pin the First had obviously already guessed that Hua Zhu Yu would sooner or later return to Yu Province. He also knew that Hua Zhu Yu currently needed to be alone to think things over.
They always have not dared to defy Hua Zhu Yu’s orders, and so, they could only helplessly look at Hua Zhu Yu before hastily galloping towards the West Borderland. In these years, the skirmishes with the West Borderland had been numerous. They were quite familiar with the West Borderland’s topography and so hiding there for a period of time was not a problem for them.
After waiting until their figures slowly faded into the horizon, Hua Zhu Yu urged her horse toward the north. Before the time it took an incense stick to burn, behind her, there was already the noise of the galloping hooves of the pursuers.
Black robes and black armor. The soldiers sent from the capital had still caught up to her.
Hua Zhu Yu looked behind only to see about 100 calvary rush towards her. When they saw Hua Zhu Yu, they all flipped off their horses. Their hands all held sharp swords as they surrounded her. The dense murderous intent flowed towards her.
Hua Zhu Yu knew she already could not escape. The reason she had sent Dan Hong and he orphan army away were so they she could face the pursuers alone. She didn’t want anyone else to die. They had already done enough for her. She flipped off her horse. Her sword slowly slid out of the sheath. The cold light illuminated her scarlet eyes.
“All come at me!” Her voice was extremely frigid.
At that time, a wave of cold light surged towards her. After a quick exchange of swords, the soldiers beside Hua Zhu Yu had all fallen. Hua Zhu Yu pulled her sword out of a body. Droplets of blood dripped down the edge of her sword onto the ground.
“Come at me again!”She softly smiled. Her posture was still straight and her silver mask shone with a cold l.u.s.ter.
The pursuers couldn’t help but feel the chills. They had naturally heard of the Silver Masked Ashura, however, they didn’t think that even with the a.s.sault of a couple thousand of soldiers, the Silver Masked Ashura would still be so bold.
“Lets all go together! He already can’t hold on any longer.” Someone yelled. In a moment, ten more soldiers surrounded over.
Actually, that that person was correct. Hua Zhu Yu had already used quite a bit of true energy and was already extremely fatigued. Moreover, her internal force had just recovered yesterday. And so, she must finish the battle quickly and not waste any time else she won’t be able to hold on and definitely die.
Those people seemed to have also felt that. The group separated and began attacking from different perspectives. The battle raged on. The cold light of a sword was stabbed into her shoulder, while more swords – with snow-like abundance – chased her like shadows. Her strength was slowly depleted. Hua Zhu Yu had also gained quite a bit of wounds. She was slowly becoming numb.
At this time, the clear sound of hooves drifted over. Hua Zhu Yu blocked another sword as she looked at the horse carriage coming over.
Is the comer an enemy or a friend?
While Hua Zhu Yu was speculating, the horse carriage stopped not to far from them. The coachman was a servant. He wore a grey robe and was obviously very old.
“Ah Gui, what happened? Why are you stopping the carriage?” A low and clear voice – like a cold spring splashing on a stone – traveled from inside the carriage.
The coachman hastily bowed as he replied: “Reporting to gongzi, a group of people are besieging one person.”
(gongzi – a prince or just a rich youth)
The person inside the carriage relied: “There is actually such an unfair event? Since it is so, you should quickly go and help!”
“Yes, gongzi!” Ah Gui answered and jumped down from the front of the carriage. Just this jump had allowed him to travel into the center of the battle.
“Who are you all? We are the government’s soldiers and are currently catching a criminal. You all should quickly leave.” The hed soldier viciously said as he saw Ah Gui jump over.
He thought that with this sentence, the comers would definitely be afriad, however, Ah Gui’s eyes didn’t even open and neither did he look at him. It seemed that aside from his master’s words, he couldn’t hear other people’s words. He seemed old-fashioned and his hand carried a cane. However, when he entered the battle, with a youth-like burst of energy, the cane in his hand danced as it created gusts of wind. After a while, the soldiers all were on the ground. If they weren’t covering their legs, they were covering their stomachs in pain. They wouldn’t be able to get up again.
“Youth, why aren’t you leaving?” Ah Gui said to Hua Zhu Yu.
Hua Zhu Yu made a baoquan salute: “Many thanks to gongzi and this venerable old man. May I have the honor of knowing your ill.u.s.trious names?”
baoquan salute
“This youth doesn’t need to be so polite. If fated then we will meet again. Quickly leave!” Ah Gui carried his cane and bent his back as he walked towards the horse carriage.
Hua Zhu Yu flipped onto her horse. She looked back and through the white curtain of the horse carriage, she could faintly see that a person sat inside wearing a white robe. The person also seemed to be looking at her. That shining gaze seemed to be able to penetrate into people.
However, as they weren’t willing to tell their names, Hua Zhu Yu didn’t ask further. She saluted and then galloped away.
