Chapter 1446: 1445 Good Sister-in-law
Chapter 1446: 1445 Good Sister-in-law
Bai Yiyi really wanted to kick him.
On the phone, Wen Ran’s laughter came through, “Brother, Yiyi doesn’t want me to talk to you.”
“Why?”
Gu Kai, not sure whether he was genuinely confused or just pretending, looked at Bai Yiyi with a smile, and even reached out his other hand to gently touch her face, only to have it batted away by Bai Yiyi.
“Ranran, what were you and Yiyi talking about just now? She glared at me the moment she saw me,” Gu Kai asked with a smile.
“Brother, what do you mean? I’m thousands of miles away, and you’re worried that I bullied your future sister-in-law over the phone? That’s not fair; are you really my brother?”
Wen Ran was not pleased with his questioning.
“Stop, it’s my fault. I won’t ask anymore, so don’t blame me for everything,” Gu Kai said, although his eyes were still full of laughter.
Bai Yiyi couldn’t help but smile at Gu Kai’s pleading tone.

The next day, Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen returned from vacation, and Wen Jin also rushed back from F City.
Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran had taken a private jet, and Wen Jin’s arrival time wasn’t far off, getting there just half an hour earlier.
He waited for them at the airport.
Returning to G City with them were Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng.
The two of them, of course, had returned from A City and City C, respectively.
Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi brought Tongtong to pick them up at the airport, and the group went straight to Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion’s largest private room on the third floor, creating a lively atmosphere.
“Qin Mu, why didn’t An Lin come back with you?”
Wen Ran was holding Momo, who reached out both hands to be hugged by Qin Mu. He smiled as he took Momo and answered warmly, “She stayed home to accompany her mother.”
“Ah Mu, you’ve been married to An Lin for a few months now. Could it be she’s pregnant and staying home to take care of herself?”
Habitually joking, Luo Haofeng chimed in, teasing laughter twinkling in his eyes.
Qin Mu gave him a sideways glance, “You’re overthinking it.”
Hearing the faintness in his voice, Wen Ran furrowed her brows in confusion, inexplicably having a feeling that something might be amiss between Qin Mu and An Lin.
When he mentioned An Lin earlier, his tone was very subdued.
“I’ll give An Lin a call to see when she’s coming back. What Luo Haofeng said isn’t entirely impossible,” Wen Ran teased deliberately.
“Aunt, here you go.”
Tongtong came over with a box of chocolates, smiling as she handed it to Wen Ran. Wen Jin laughed as he took it, opened the box, and offered Wen Ran a chocolate, “Ranran, if Ah Mu isn’t letting An Lin come, then it must be like Ah Feng said. No need to call her then.”
“Brother, does Xiaocha know you’re coming back today?”
Wen Ran glanced at Qin Mu, seeing nothing from his expression, she gave up pursuing An Lin any further and changed the topic to ask Wen Jin.
Wen Jin shook his head, “No, she doesn’t know.”
As if guessing what Wen Ran would say next, Wen Jin added, “Ranran, don’t call Jing Xiaocha and let me have peace for a couple of days.”
To Wen Jin, Jing Xiaocha was louder than five hundred ducks; he couldn’t figure out where she got so many things to talk about all day long, but as long as she was around, Wen Jin couldn’t find peace.
The truth was because she wasn’t the one he desired to accompany him; if she were, he certainly wouldn’t find her noisy.
Wen Ran pouted, tossed the chocolate into her mouth, and said to Bai Yiyi, “Yiyi, come to the restroom with me.”
Leaving the four little ones with those few big guys, Wen Ran and Bai Yiyi headed to the restroom outside.
In the restroom, as Wen Ran and Bai Yiyi stood at the sink washing their hands, Wen Ran’s sharp eyes spotted a hickey on Bai Yiyi’s neck and exclaimed delightedly, “Yiyi, what’s this?”
Seeing Wen Ran’s hand reach over, Bai Yiyi instinctively stepped aside, looking at her with a wary gaze.
Wen Ran was amused by her avoidance, a playful glint flashing in her eyes as she crooked her finger to coax, “Yiyi, come over and let me see. I promise I won’t laugh at you.”
“Not coming.”
Bai Yiyi’s cheeks flushed a bit; she didn’t want Wen Ran to see.
Facing the mirror, she reached up to pull her collar higher, inwardly cursing that rascal Gu Kai; of all places, he left marks right where her collar couldn’t cover them.
“Yiyi, sister-in-law.”
Wen Ran shouted with a laugh.
Bai Yiyi’s cheeks reddened even more, shooting her a glance, and chided, “Don’t call me that.”
“Did you and my brother… you know… so what’s there to be shy about, Yiyi? I’ve been waiting to call you sister-in-law every day. Come, let your little sister-in-law have a look.”
“Get lost.” Bai Yiyi’s face burned with heat.
“Why don’t you let me see how many marks Mo Xiuchen left on you?”
Bai Yiyi’s words made Wen Ran burst into laughter, “Yiyi, I was lying to you yesterday afternoon. My period just started, there’s no way.”
“You…”
Bai Yiyi gritted her teeth, really wanting to strangle Wen Ran; she had lied just to get her to talk.

In the private room, a few guys entertained the four little kids.
Mo Xiuchen glanced at Luo Haofeng, who was the closest to him, and casually asked, “Ah Feng, did you go abroad during Chinese New Year?”
Luo Haofeng, who had been watching Gu Kai lose a rock-paper-scissors game to Ziyi and was now bending over to play horsey for Ziyi, heard Mo Xiuchen’s words, and the smile on his face froze slightly. He turned his head to look at him.
From his changed expression, Mo Xiuchen had his answer in his heart.
“How did you know?”
Luo Haofeng’s voice carried a hint of melancholy. He leaned over, reached for a cigarette from the coffee table, but before he could pull one out, Mo Xiuchen had already snatched it away.
“Don’t smoke in here.”
He placed the cigarettes in the drawer, picked up a wine glass and handed it to him, speaking in a calm and gentle tone, “Bai Xiaoxiao called Ranran, that’s how I know.”
Gently pressing his lips together, Luo Haofeng’s eyes welled with emotion but dispersed quickly. His facial features lost the softness they held earlier.
“What did she say?”
He focused on Mo Xiuchen, gradually returning to his usual expression. Having taken over the company for some time, he was more adept at controlling his emotions than before.
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes narrowed; he observed Luo Haofeng’s change in mood. He wasn’t surprised at how quickly Luo Haofeng regained his composure.
“She just told Ranran that you went to D Country during the New Year and ran into Meng Ke.”
“I just went to see; I had no intention of entangling with her,” Luo Haofeng curled his lips into a self-deprecating smile.
“Hmm, I thought so too.”
Mo Xiuchen gave no definite answer, having no reason to doubt Luo Haofeng’s words. Luo Haofeng had once considered himself a philanderer; who would’ve thought he’d be so devoted to Bai Xiaoxiao.
Knowing full well that both his mother and Bai Xiaoxiao’s mother would never permit them to be together, he still secretly visited her abroad time and again. If not for missing her deeply, he wouldn’t have been unable to control himself.
Once a notorious playboy, he had now become the celibate male god in the eyes of the world; countless socialites in City C longing to climb the high branch of the Bai Family were coldly rejected by him.
