Chapter 1615: Chapter 1614: You Always Spoil Her

Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion

Two years have passed, and it’s still the same as before.

On weekends, there are more guests. Although it’s only eleven o’clock, the hall is already filled with many guests.

“Ranran, I haven’t seen you in two years. I thought Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion would have changed a lot. But surprise, it’s just like before.”

Getting out of the car, Bai Xiaoxiao first looked up at the building ahead.

“Godmother, delicious food.”

Momo and Xinxin followed Bai Xiaoxiao out of the car, their childish voices echoed behind her.

Wen Ran said with a grin, “You little foodies, always thinking about food.”

“Haha, I love little foodies. Ranran, Momo, Xinxin, come, godmother will take you inside to eat something delicious.”

Bai Xiaoxiao took them by the hand, one in each hand, turned, and said to Ziyi who was getting out of the car, “Ziyi, you don’t like the perfume on godmother, so stick with your dad.”

“Dad and I are men.”

After speaking, Ziyi turned around and shouted to Mo Xiuchen in the car, “Dad, get out.”

Bai Xiaoxiao twitched her lips and together with Wen Ran, led the two little ones toward the entrance.

At the junction of the elevator and stairs on the third floor, Meng Ke, dressed in formal attire, stood there looking handsome and upright.

As the elevator door opened, Bai Xiaoxiao’s beautiful features came into view, Meng Ke’s gaze lit up, and he immediately stepped forward, calling out joyfully, “Xiaoxiao.”

Wen Ran smiled slightly, turning to look at Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao froze for a moment, feeling a little uncomfortable under Meng Ke’s intense gaze.

“Xiaoxiao, come out.”

Meng Ke’s eyes grew even warmer, as he extended his hand towards Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao hesitated for a moment before stepping out of the elevator, and the next moment, she was enveloped in Meng Ke’s embrace.

Her body stiffened, instinctively struggling.

“Xiaoxiao, I’ve missed you so much.”

Next to her ear, Meng Ke’s voice brimmed with longing, “Your father and mother are in the private room, let me take you to meet them, they’ll surely be delighted.”

Sensing her discomfort, Meng Ke quickly released Bai Xiaoxiao.

Turning to Wen Ran, who was leading the two little ones out of the elevator, he said, “Mrs. Mo, I’ll take Xiaoxiao to see her parents first. Join us.”

“I’ll come over later.”

Wen Ran glanced at Bai Xiaoxiao, then at Meng Ke.

Noticing that even though he had released Bai Xiaoxiao, he still subtly held her hand, Wen Ran suddenly realized that this apparently honest and reliable man could be quite assertive and proactive.

However, Xiaoxiao was his girlfriend now, so holding hands seemed quite normal.

Bai Xiaoxiao wasn’t very willing to have her hand held by Meng Ke, feeling uncomfortable all over.

Instinctively she tried to pull away, but he tightened his grip. Considering her position, she endured it.

“Alright.” Meng Ke actually didn’t want Wen Ran to disturb his meeting with Bai Xiaoxiao’s parents, so he turned and said warmly, “Xiaoxiao, let’s go.”

“Ranran, I’ll come to find you later.”

Watching Bai Xiaoxiao and Meng Ke leave together, Wen Ran let out a soft sigh in her heart.

Nearby, the sound of footsteps came from the stairwell along with voices of Mo Xiuchen and Ziyi, and Wen Ran signaled to Momo and Xinxin, who immediately ran over joyfully.

“Your father and mother are inside.”

Meng Ke led Bai Xiaoxiao to the private room’s entrance, paused, and instead of opening the door immediately, he looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with a smile.

Through the door, Bai Xiaoxiao could faintly hear voices coming from inside.

It seemed that her parents were talking about her.

She reached out to push the door open, her parents were sitting on the couch in the private room, and the first thing she saw was just an outline.

A sudden surge of warmth flooded her heart, spreading to her nose, and Bai Xiaoxiao felt her eyes instantly moist.

Even without seeing their faces, her first instinct was that her parents had aged.

She hadn’t seen them in two years, and her parents had suddenly gotten older. Before, she’d thought she could enjoy freedom abroad for a few more years, could wait a few more years before marrying.

But at this moment, Bai Xiaoxiao felt a pang of guilt and remorse.

Her parents only had her, their only daughter. How could she make excuses for not wanting to return when they had called her back countless times?

Maybe they heard the door, or sensed her standing outside, as Mr. Bai and Mother Bai simultaneously turned to look at the entrance.

When they saw Bai Xiaoxiao standing there, they first widened their eyes in shock and disbelief.

The sour feeling in Bai Xiaoxiao’s nose intensified, and she tightly pressed her lips together, pretending to be cheerful as she called out, “Dad, Mom, I’m back!”

This greeting pulled Mr. Bai and Mother Bai back to reality from their surprise.

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao running over, the elderly couple on the sofa simultaneously showed expressions of joy and excitement, their previously clear eyes suddenly blurred.

Just as Mother Bai raised her hand to wipe her tears, Bai Xiaoxiao was already in front of her, hugging her tightly, a choked voice escaping from Bai Xiaoxiao’s mouth, “Mom!”

“Xiaoxiao, you little brat, finally willing to come home. Mom thought you wouldn’t spend New Year with us this year.”

Mother Bai’s voice was thick with nasal sound.

Beside her, Mr. Bai, hearing his wife blame their daughter, didn’t hesitate to say, “Don’t blame Xiaoxiao, our Xiaoxiao wasn’t abroad for leisure, she was working hard for the company’s development.”

“You just keep indulging her, she’ll fly up to the sky.”

Mother Bai turned to Mr. Bai.

Her seemingly displeased words were also filled with deep love.

Bai Xiaoxiao released Mother Bai, then turned to embrace Mr. Bai, and sat between them, holding both parents’ hands.

“Dad, Mom, am I the reason you could hardly find an excuse to bicker when I’m not home?”

“You knew and yet you didn’t want to come back?”

Mother Bai huffed angrily, recalling how she’d repeatedly asked on the phone when she’d return, and this stubborn girl always said ‘soon’ but never came back.

Mr. Bai looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with satisfaction, examining her from top to bottom, and then his smile faded, replaced by a father’s sternness, “Xiaoxiao, why have you let yourself become so thin?”

Bai Xiaoxiao blinked and found an excuse, “Dad, I missed you and Mom so much, now that I’m back, it won’t be long before I put the weight back on.”

“Little liar.”

Mother Bai said, pointing a finger at Bai Xiaoxiao’s forehead.

But it was intercepted halfway by Mr. Bai, who doted on her, and Bai Xiaoxiao chuckled, “Mom, with Dad around, you can’t bully me.”

“Old man, now that your daughter is back, your eyes are only for her, huh?”

Mother Bai said angrily, glaring at Mr. Bai for his overindulgence, likely to spoil their daughter to the heavens.

Mr. Bai beamed proudly, feeling that there was nothing wrong with his actions, instead telling Mother Bai, “Xiaoxiao just came back and yet you’re scolding and hitting her. If she gets upset and flies back to D Country, don’t come crying to me.”
