Chapter 1859: Chapter 1858: Regardless of the Process
With Mother Bai’s command, Aunt Qiao no longer persuaded Luo Haofeng to leave the kitchen but rather assisted him instead.
In the living room, Mo Xiuchen and Mr. Bai were chatting.
Wen Ran, Bai Xiaoxiao, and Mother Bai were playing with the three children.
The atmosphere was warm and delightful.
During the middle, Bai Xiaoxiao tried several times to go to the kitchen, but Mother Bai stopped her with a look.
She felt a little resentment, thinking her mom shouldn’t have made Luo Haofeng cook the first time he visited.
But Mother Bai gave her a look saying, “I’m doing this for whom?”
Bai Xiaoxiao had no choice but to swallow her resentment, although she kept glancing towards the kitchen.
It proved that Wen Ran’s words were correct.
Compared to the gifts Luo Haofeng had collected from Gu Kai and Wen Jin, the delicious and appetizing meal he prepared could lessen Mother Bai’s discontent towards him a few notches.
After tasting a few dishes, Mother Bai even praised, “Good cooking skills.”
Upon hearing this praise from his future mother-in-law, Luo Haofeng broke into a broad smile, “Thank you, Aunt, for the praise.”
Bai Xiaoxiao was as happy as he was, originally having no appetite due to early pregnancy, she ate quite a bit of this meal.
“Uncle Luo’s cooking is so delicious, Uncle Luo, you should cook at our place next time!”
Momo’s offhand comment made everyone burst into laughter.
Wen Ran wiped the speck of rice from the corner of Momo’s mouth and said, amused, “Momo, your Uncle Luo needs to cook for your godmother, you shouldn’t steal him away.”
Momo blinked her bright eyes, innocently defending herself, “I’m not asking Uncle Luo to cook at our place every day, it’s just that he’s been to our place so many times but hasn’t cooked even once.”
Indeed, children speak innocently!
Wen Ran was somewhat at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
Sitting beside her, Mo Xiuchen mildly smiled and gently explained to his daughter, “Momo, we’re not desperate for your Uncle Luo’s cooking. If you want to eat anything, Daddy will make it for you. When you grow up, there will naturally be many people willing to cook for you.”
“When I grow up?”
Momo’s bright eyes showed a hint of confusion, “Will they be as handsome as Uncle Luo?”
“Haha, it seems like Momo really likes her Uncle Luo, huh?”
Mr. Bai couldn’t help but chime in.
If before he accepted Luo Haofeng reluctantly for Xiaoxiao’s sake, after today’s lunch, Mr. Bai was genuinely pleased with Luo Haofeng.
Whether it was his cooking skills or his character at the dining table,
Luo Haofeng was flawless.
“Yes, I do. Godmother likes Uncle Luo too. Grandpa Bai, Grandma Bai, do you like Uncle Luo?”
Momo looked at Mr. Bai, then Mother Bai, as if fearing they didn’t like her Uncle Luo, hurriedly added, “Uncle Luo isn’t just handsome, he’s really good too.”
Even Wen Ran was surprised.
Before they came, they hadn’t told the three kids to say so many good things about Luo Haofeng.
After Momo finished, Xin Xin, who was sitting next to him, nodded along, “Grandpa Bai, Grandma Bai, you must like Uncle Luo.”
Mother Bai glanced at Luo Haofeng, then at the two children, laughingly said, “With you all so fond of your Uncle Luo, how can Grandpa and Grandma dare say they don’t like him?”
“Do Grandpa and Grandma like him?”
Despite their cleverness, Momo and Xin Xin were still too young to be certain whether Mother Bai’s words meant liking or not.
And they really wanted confirmation, so the two cute little ones looked at Mother Bai expectantly.
That adorable look nearly melted Mother Bai’s heart.
Regardless of her true feelings, she said twice, “We like him, we like him, we all like your Uncle Luo.”
Not only did Luo Haofeng make a table of delicious food, but he also thoroughly cleaned up the dishes afterward.
Seeing Mother Bai did not stop him, Bai Xiaoxiao knew there was no point in trying either.
Thus, for the first time visiting his prospective in-laws, Luo Haofeng became a free chef.
When moving from the dining room to the living room sofa, Mo Xiuchen received a call; something urgent had come up at the company that needed his attention.
He had to go back to the company, “Ranran, come back to the company with me.”
Wen Ran, without hesitation, nodded in agreement to Mo Xiuchen’s request.
Qiao Xiuyun saw this and laughed, saying, “Since there’s something urgent at the company, you two should go quickly. It’s rare for me to see the three kids; let them play at my house this afternoon.”
“Then I’m counting on you, Aunt Qiao. If they get naughty, don’t hold back. Feel free to scold or punish them.”
Before the three children could argue, Qiao Xiuyun objected, “In my view, they are the most well-behaved trio; they won’t be naughty.”
“Mom, rest assured and go to the company with Dad. I will take care of Momo and Xin Xin.”
Ziyi spoke like a little adult.
Although he was born a few minutes after Momo, he was indeed mentally more mature than Momo.
Additionally, having experience from looking after Qingqing these months, Ziyi was more like a brother to Momo and Xin Xin rather than a younger sibling.
Once the car got on the road, Wen Ran said in confusion, “How do I feel Momo and Xin Xin seem like they’ve been taught by Luo Haofeng.”
Mo Xiuchen chuckled lightly, his broad hand wrapped hers, and in a low, gentle voice, he said in her ear, “It’s not just a ‘seems like’; Ah Feng really taught them.”
If he hadn’t taught them, Momo wouldn’t have spoken those words.
Wen Ran’s eyes widened as she looked at Mo Xiuchen, “When did this happen, I didn’t know?”
“When he came over to our house, Momo, Xin Xin, and Ziyi were playing in the yard, remember? That’s when he taught them.”
“How do you know?”
“I just noticed it.”
Mo Xiuchen has known Luo Haofeng for over ten years, how could he not understand him?
“I see, I was wondering how Momo could say those words without someone teaching him.”
Mo Xiuchen’s smile deepened, with his handsome brows slightly raised, “Regardless of how it happened, it’s good that Ah Feng could win Aunt Qiao’s approval, the result is worth celebrating.”
Hearing this, Wen Ran also laughed, “Indeed, I didn’t expect Luo Haofeng to pass so smoothly.”
On the way there, she was worried.
Afraid Aunt Qiao might get angry and drive them all out.
“Not only did Aunt Qiao agree, but Ah Feng’s mom also approved of them being together.” Mo Xiuchen wrapped an arm around Wen Ran’s shoulder, pulling her into his embrace.
Luo Haofeng and Bai Xiaoxiao have gone through many ups and downs in their relationship, but as of today, it’s seen a good turn.
It’s considered a good start.
Hopefully, they can overcome future challenges swiftly and achieve happiness soon.
Mo Xiuchen sincerely felt happy for Luo Haofeng, as each of the friends he regarded as brothers finally found their happiness one by one.
If there was anyone still on his mind, it was only Wen Jin.
