Tang Jinchen arrived at the villa early in the morning.

Gu Zhitong’s flight was at noon, and he arrived at the villa by eight.

Afraid that Gu Zhitong might leave early, he didn’t even go to the guest room to rest but instead dozed off on the sofa in the living room.

A sound of footsteps coming from the stairs immediately alerted Tang Jinchen, who opened his eyes again.

Exhaustion was hidden between his brows, but his tall frame stood up immediately, looking dignified and handsome.

“Tongtong, good morning.”

His voice was slightly hoarse because he hadn’t slept all night.

Gu Zhitong didn’t expect Tang Jinchen to arrive so early. She looked at him standing in front of the sofa with a slight frown, “When did you get here?”

“For a little while, it’s still early, so I didn’t wake you up.”

“You didn’t sleep all night?”

Now, seeing the tiredness between his brows, she walked towards him, saying, “Go back to sleep.”

Tang Jinchen shook his head, his eyes fixed on her, knowing that after she left today, who knows when they would meet again.

Suddenly, he took a few steps from the sofa and pulled her into his embrace.

“I can’t bear to let you go.”

But Tang Jinchen held her tightly, refusing to let go.

The man was strong, and after a couple of struggles, Gu Zhitong had to give up.

She looked up at Tang Jinchen, “Let me go first.”

“How about you agree to something first?”

Tang Jinchen looked at her intensely, wishing to hold her like this and never let go.

“Agree to what?”

“Agree to be my girlfriend.”

“If you don’t agree, I won’t be at ease.”

Gu Zhitong frowned.

Tang Jinchen chuckled lowly and let go of her.

“Tongtong, once I’ve set my mind on something, I never change it or give it up.”

Gu Zhitong pressed her lips together, feeling a bit confused.

She wasn’t quite sure about her feelings towards Tang Jinchen, whether she felt a tinge of affection.

She knew she didn’t dislike him, that much she was sure of.

But beyond that, she wasn’t certain.

It was still too soon. Having been hurt before, she couldn’t help but be cautious when it came to feelings.

“I will give you an answer the next time we meet.”

“Okay!”

Tang Jinchen’s eyes showed a mix of emotions, then he nodded with a smile.

The sound of footsteps came from the stairs behind them. Gu Zhitong walked to sit on the sofa, and Tang Jinchen smiled and asked her, “Tongtong, what would you like for breakfast? I’ll make it for you.”

“Isn’t the housekeeper cooking?”

“Alright then.”

Gu Zhitong, Momo, and Tang Jinchen didn’t wait for Mo Ziye and Qin Qingqing to have breakfast.

But just as they sat down, Ye Zhan arrived to join them for breakfast.

After breakfast, Tang Jinchen took Gu Zhitong to the airport.

On the sofa in the living room, Ye Zhan asked Momo, “Did you see Shi Zhen’s published apology?”

“Yes, in small print.”

Momo’s tone carried a hint of sarcasm. Shi Dongliang really knew how to exploit the situation. If she hadn’t looked carefully, she wouldn’t have found it.

Ye Zhan slightly curved his lips and said gently, “He apologized and admitted his mistake, regardless of the font size.”

Momo glanced at the watch on her wrist and then looked up to Ye Zhan, “Are you here to talk to Ziye? I’ll go get him.”

“I’m not in a hurry.”

“Then wait for him here for a while. You didn’t sleep last night, right? You can go to the guest room to sleep for a while. I still have work today and need to go out.”

“Where are you working?”

Ye Zhan asked gently.

“The TV station.”

Momo came to the Imperial City not only to see Mo Ziye but also for work.

“I’ll take you there.”

Ye Zhan stood up.

“No need, you rest a bit first.”

Momo shook her head. She wasn’t driving herself.

Ye Zhan, however, walked directly out from behind the sofa, turning back. His dark eyes looked at Momo’s frown, a subtle smile played on his lips, “You and Mo Ziye are both considered enemies of the Shi Family now, and you aren’t familiar with the Imperial City. I’ll take you there, and once you finish your work, I’ll bring you back.”

Momo’s mouth twitched, “Don’t you have anything to do?”

“Hmm.”

“Can we go now?”

After a few seconds, Ye Zhan asked.

Momo still didn’t want him to take her.

She looked at Ye Zhan’s handsome brows, puzzled about his intentions. Was it because of Shi Zhen’s words last night?

Rumor had it that many women wanted to marry him.

Momo suddenly asked.

Momo looked at his calm, unreadable handsome face, “You’re currently very popular in the Imperial City, and previously Shi Zhen always thought she could marry you, but now that’s definitely not possible. Your family probably knows this too.”

Ye Zhan raised his brows, signaling her to continue.

Momo put her hands in her pockets, speaking in a muffled voice, “If you openly say you need my help, I might agree to help you, but if you intend to quietly use me, then I won’t cooperate.”

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re very smart?”

Ye Zhan laughed, his voice light and pleasant to listen to.

After laughing, he openly admitted, “I do want to ask you for a favor. After all, Shi Zhen spread so many rumors last night. Although she apologized, she didn’t explain the reason. This morning when I got home, they asked me if I liked you.”

Momo blinked, her eyelids lowering as she moved her gaze away from him.

Listening to him continue, “My grandpa and dad are always worried about my lifelong matters. If you’re willing to help me, I could have some peace for a while in the future.”
