Chapter 2480 - 284
Chapter 2480: Chapter 284
Ye Zhan gave him a faint glance, the deep guilt and self-blame in his eyes inexplicably tinged with a light smile, even his lips slightly curved.
This smile, seen by Tang Jinchen, immediately knitted his brows.
"Don’t joke about your health, given Momo’s situation, you won’t be able to see her even if you go to G City. Wait until you are better before going."
"If it were Gu Zhitong, would you wait until you were better before seeing her?"
"..."
Tang Jinchen was rendered speechless by Ye Zhan’s icy words.
The air in the hospital room seemed to be sucked out in an instant, stiflingly oppressive.
After a brief stalemate, Tang Jinchen helplessly agreed to compromise, "Fine, we’ll go together."
He hesitated.
The latter half of the sentence remained unspoken.
The phone rang, and Ye Zhan glanced at the caller, then tossed it onto the small table.
Tang Jinchen glanced at it and then at Ye Zhan, "Perhaps Uncle Ye has something urgent, if you don’t want to answer, I can do it."
Ye Zhan remained silent, with his handsome brows furrowing even more coldly.
Seeing that Ye Zhan neither agreed nor objected, Tang Jinchen still answered the call for him, politely saying, "Uncle Ye."
"Jinchen, doesn’t Ah Zhan want to take my call?" Ye Zhangming’s voice paused for a second before it was heard, subtly tinged with disappointment.
Looking at Ye Zhan’s indifferent expression, Tang Jinchen chuckled, "Ah Zhan just went to bed, Uncle Ye, is there anything I should relay to him?"
"Since he’s asleep, let him rest. I need to make a trip to G City..."
"Jinchen, give me the phone."
Ye Zhan’s sharp voice suddenly interrupted.
Tang Jinchen hesitated, seeing that Ye Zhan was quite angry. He was standing next to the bed taking the call, and although he hadn’t put it on speaker, Ye Zhan could still hear it.
"Don’t move and rupture the wound."
Ye Zhan took the phone, and coldly questioned, "Why are you going to G City, haven’t you hurt Momo enough, do you want to go watch the spectacle?"
"Ah Zhan."
Ye Zhangming’s voice was strained with emotion, unsure whether it stemmed from guilt over hurting Momo, or anger at his attitude.
Ye Zhan, however, laughed coldly, his resentment towards Ye Zhangming reminiscent of the time his mother had just passed away.
Even more so than back then.
After all, that time it was just hatred from losing his mother, but now, it’s twofold, albeit one part has slightly eased with the passage of time.
Yet at this moment, it surged forth with intensity and sharpness.
"Did I say anything wrong? What right do you have to see Momo; her life has been ruined by you, what do you want to see now?"
"I’m going to apologize to her."
"Apologize?"
Ye Zhan’s smile grew more sarcastic, the tremor in his chest pulling at his wounds, the combined pain of spirit and body instantly adding darkness to his expression.
"She doesn’t need your apology, you’re not allowed to disturb her."
"Ah Zhan, I know there’s nothing I can say now for you to forgive me, nor change the fact that Momo was hurt; since you won’t allow it, I won’t go then. As for the rumors circulating, I’ll make sure they’re dealt with."
Ye Zhan abruptly hung up the phone, tightly clenching it in his palm.
"Jinchen, do you know what kind of rumors are being spread?"
He hadn’t rested today, and wasn’t aware of the rumors.
Tang Jinchen’s face flickered for a moment, but quickly returned to calm, "I’ve already asked Junming to handle it, and the Mo family is suppressing them; these rumors will fade soon enough, since you’re heading to G City, I’ll book the flight now, and you rest for a moment, I’ll have my aunt bring some porridge over before we fly."
The food on the airplane isn’t suitable for the two of them, both patients, Tang Jinchen said as he pulled out his phone to make a call.
Ye Zhan accepted his arrangements silently, turned his face, loosened the grip on the phone, gently pressing his index finger as the girl’s radiant smile appeared on the screen.
Looking at that clean, bright smile, remembering Mo Xiuchen on the phone saying Momo has promised Ziyi she won’t have any dealings with him anymore.
The wound suddenly throbbed with suffocating pain again.
The person bringing porridge wasn’t Tang Jinchen’s aunt, but his mother, Feng Wanfeng, an elegant and beautiful woman.
Entering the hospital room, she cast a glance at Tang Jinchen lounging in a chair. He got up, greeted her with a smile, "Mom, why did you personally bring it, give it to me."
"I’m here to see Ah Zhan."
Feng Wanfeng handed over the thermos box, smiled at Ye Zhan on the bed who opened his eyes upon hearing the noise, stopping him from moving, "Ah Zhan, I heard your wound ruptured, stay lying down."
"Aunt Feng, I’m fine."
Ye Zhan shook his head faintly, it’s just a little painful, not life-threatening.
"Almost lost your life, how can you be fine, stay lying down, let Jinchen serve the porridge, if you can’t eat, I’ll feed you myself."
She felt pity towards Ye Zhan.
"Ah Zhan, humor my mom this once."
Tang Jinchen said with a smile.
He handed the served porridge to Feng Wanfeng, then served another bowl for himself.
"Aunt Feng, really no need, I can eat by myself, my hands aren’t injured." Ye Zhan couldn’t bear being fed.
Since his mother passed, no matter sick or hurt, he hadn’t let anyone spoon-feed him.
"Are you sure you can manage?"
"I can."
"Alright then, you feed yourself."
Feng Wanfeng raised the head of the bed a bit, then handed the porridge to Ye Zhan.
Tang Jinchen sat at the edge of the bed, eating porridge while telling Feng Wanfeng they would head to G City tonight.
"Are you sure you two can go now?"
A hint of complex emotion flashed through Feng Wanfeng’s eyes, especially regarding Ye Zhan and Momo’s current relationship; she felt his visit to G City might not change anything.
While An Lin was alive, she visited G City two or three times a year, maintaining decent relationships with An Lin, Qin Mu, and several other old and well-known families.
Before coming to the hospital, she called Wen Ran.
Inquired about Momo and Ye Zhan’s matter indirectly, Wen Ran was unwilling to delve, only saying that Momo finally returned home, hoping for her future well-being.
This thought brought another involuntary sigh, faced with such an incident, any parent would find it hard not to mind.
"Mom, don’t worry."
Tang Jinchen winked at Feng Wanfeng, signaling her not to say more.
Ye Zhan’s decision was unshakeable, no word could deter him.
"I’ll go with you then, I want to see Momo too." Feng Wanfeng chuckled, finally refraining from stopping them.
