Chapter 2595 - 399
Chapter 2595: Chapter 399
Feng Yize waited for Wen Qinghuan for three days.
During these three days, he and Haochen finalized their collaboration.
The night before Qinghuan left for the Imperial City, she was staring blankly at her canvas, not even noticing when Ziyang walked in.
"Qinghuan, what are you daydreaming about instead of painting?"
Ziyang waved a hand in front of her eyes, his concerned voice carrying a touch of amusement above her.
Startled, Qinghuan almost dropped the brush in her hand.
She turned her head to look at Ziyang standing behind her, "Brother, when did you come in?"
"Just now, you didn’t even notice me coming in."
"Did Brother Zinan leave?"
"Hmm, he went back."
Ziyang pulled out a chair to sit beside her.
"Draw a portrait of me."
Qinghuan looked at the pose he struck and smiled, "Alright."
Before long, a handsome Wen Ziyang appeared vividly on the canvas, and Ziyang smiled with satisfaction, "My sister’s drawing skills are becoming more and more impressive."
"They have to be."
"What were you thinking about just now? Tell me."
"Nothing."
"Were you thinking about Feng Yize?" Wen Ziyang propped his chin with his hand, looking at Qinghuan with half-narrowed eyes on his handsome face.
Qinghuan frowned, "No."
"I thought you’d seen the good in Feng Yize. Qinghuan, I used to have some biases against Feng Yize, but with time, I feel he’s not that bad. Although he can’t compare to your brother, I can’t deny his kindness to you."
"When did you switch sides?"
Qinghuan looked at Ziyang with amusement.
"When you got closer to him."
Ziyang draped an arm around Qinghuan’s shoulder and asked gently, "Are you thinking about going to the Imperial City tomorrow, or about collaborating with Feng Yize, or perhaps regretting agreeing to it?"
"None of those."
"Then what?"
Qinghuan bit her lip and looked up at Ziyang, "Brother, don’t you think that Sister Qingling and Chu Junming have a different kind of relationship?"
"Why do you say that?"
Wen Ziyang narrowed his eyes, asking in confusion.
Of course, he hadn’t interacted with Bai Qingling as much as Qinghuan.
Nor had he seen how Bai Qingling and Chu Junming got along.
So he didn’t know.
Qinghuan recounted what she saw a few days ago, frowning slightly, "Sister Qingling told me she has nothing to do with Chu Junming, but Chu Junming is quite good to her."
"So?"
"So, there’s no particular reason, I just feel that Chu Junming might like Sister Qingling. And before, I..."
"You’re worried that even if Qingling is interested in Chu Junming, she might hold back because you used to have feelings for him."
Wen Ziyang picked up on her thoughts.
After speaking, he sighed, "Qinghuan, what does this have to do with you? Don’t take every responsibility onto yourself. If Chu Junming really likes Qingling, he’ll pursue her with his own abilities. If he can’t succeed, that’s on him."
"Actually, I think Feng Yize is quite nice."
Qinghuan smiled.
Wen Ziyang frowned, "You wouldn’t be thinking of accepting Feng Yize, would you? If you truly like him, then accepting him is perfectly fine. But if you’re doing it to ease the situation between Qingling and Chu Junming, that’d be foolish."
"I was just saying."
Qinghuan chuckled, "Brother, don’t get so nervous. I’m not that selfless. It’s just that over time, I’ve realized Feng Yize is genuinely quite good."
"So, do you still have feelings for Chu Junming?"
"Probably not."
Qinghuan lowered her eyes, thought for a moment while fiddling with her fingers, and replied.
Wen Ziyang observed her expression and understood.
He smiled and said, "That’s good. It’s not that Chu Junming is bad, but I think he lacks the warmth of Feng Yize. Feng Yize is like a bundle of joy. Though a bit silly, you feel happy being with him, right?"
"Brother, it’s good you’re not a girl. Otherwise, I’d think you like Feng Yize."
"There you go again, talking nonsense."
Wen Ziyang gave her a look, got up, and ruffled her hair.
Amid Qinghuan’s protests, he left one last sentence, "Don’t daydream, go to bed early," and strode out of the studio.
——
The next morning.
Imperial Capital Airport.
Feng Yize dismissed the driver who came to pick them up, opened the passenger door for Qinghuan, closed it gentlemanly, and then sat in the driver’s seat.
"Qinghuan, let’s go grab something to eat first. After eating, we’ll settle your luggage and then head to the company."
"Hm."
Qinghuan nodded with a smile, having no objections to his plans.
Feng Yize didn’t take Qinghuan anywhere else but to a restaurant run by him and his brothers.
Before joining the family business, he used to manage restaurants to pass the time.
As soon as they entered the restaurant, Feng Yize was about to speak to Qinghuan when a waiter rolled down from the stairs.
Accompanied by countless screams inside the restaurant.
And scolding from the second floor.
Feng Yize’s narrow eyes flashed with sharpness, and he quickly pulled Wen Qinghuan to his side.
"Qinghuan, wait for me a moment."
"Okay."
Although Qinghuan didn’t know what he was going to do,
she nodded gently.
Releasing her hand, she watched as Feng Yize strode forward.
"Feng Yize, just in time, we found a rat dropping in the soup at your restaurant. This little bastard refused to apologize or admit it, saying if we don’t want to eat, we should leave. Is this how you treat your patrons?"
Playing the victim first.
The one who pushed the waiter came down the stairs.
Step by step, exuding an intimidating air.
Looking at Feng Yize with disdain and ridicule, along with a hint of malicious triumph.
After making calls to the police and emergency services, Feng Yize calmly put away his phone and assessed the waiter’s injuries.
Since the stairs and floor were carpeted,
the waiter knew a bit about protecting himself in dangerous situations, so he wasn’t seriously hurt despite rolling down while shielding his head.
"Young Master Feng, it’s not our fault."
"Don’t speak; go to the hospital to get checked out first."
Feng Yize spoke softly, instructing two other leading waiters beside him to send him to the hospital.
"Yes, Young Master Feng."
"Feng Yize, how do you plan on compensating us? If you don’t give us an explanation today, you know the consequences."
Feng Jinze stopped on the last two steps.
Assuming that from this height, he could look down on Feng Yize.
"Brother, how could he possibly compensate? He’s not going to admit to anything, obviously."
Feng Haoze snorted, satisfied with the whispers below.
Let’s see how Yize tries to argue his way out of this.
Feng Yize narrowed his eyes, his usual laid-back demeanor replaced by a frosty aura.
His gaze turned towards the floor manager.
The manager immediately reported the incident.
Feng Haoze and Feng Jinze came with friends to dine, and midway claimed they found a rat dropping in their soup. They wouldn’t let anyone explain or investigate, resorting to violence and pushing the waiter down.
They did all this, thinking Feng Yize wasn’t around... but didn’t expect him to appear suddenly.
