Chapter 890: She is just like my sister
Chapter 890: She is just like my sister
Qin Mu was very calm.
He was also moved that Mo Xiuchen harbored no hostility towards him for liking Ranran and still treated him like a brother.
After hearing what he said, Mo Xiuchen was not shocked. Although he couldn’t remember the past, he believed Qin Mu’s words.
Ranran had mentioned before that he and Ah Mu were good brothers. Ah Mu, for Ranran’s sake, had even disregarded his own life. During his amnesia, he actually had a chance.
But he didn’t take advantage of the situation and merely stayed by Ranran’s side as a friend. After his return, he even gave up opportunities to be alone with her, leaving them for him and Ranran.
Having such a friend, Mo Xiuchen felt very fortunate.
Mo Xiuchen said softly, “Ah Mu, if you aren’t used to being back in A City , you’re always welcome to come back to G City.”
Qin Mu smiled faintly. “That could be arranged. I’ve been in G City all these years; it feels more like home here. Going back to A City,
I might really not be used to it.”
It wasn’t the unfamiliarity of A City he minded, but rather he couldn’t bear to leave these friends and brothers in G City. They had worked together for ten years, their bond forged in life and death. Once apart, it would truly be hard to let go.
Even Mo Xiuchen, who had no memory of the past, felt a twinge of sadness at the thought of saying goodbye at this moment.
“If you aren’t used to it, just come back.”

When the two returned to the private room, Gu Kai had just finished his call. His gaze swept over Mo Xiuchen and Qin Mu as they took their seats and he teased, “You two didn’t go off to fight, did you?”
Mo Xiuchen gave him a look and countered, “What did Ranran tell you?”
When he mentioned Ranran, Gu Kai immediately smiled, his expression filled with pride as if to say, Ranran doesn’t call you guys, only me. That means, to Ranran, I am the most important.
Wen Jin ignored Gu Kai’s childish expression and spoke first, “Ranran called Ah Kai just to tell him she wants Zhou Lin’s daughter to be transferred back to the country for treatment at Kangning Hospital.”
Upon hearing this, Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a pleased smile. He knew that if Ranran called Gu Kai, there must be a reason.
Gu Kai glanced at Wen Jin displeasedly, cleared his throat, and added, “Besides that, and most importantly, Ranran missed me.”
“There’s nothing praiseworthy about Ranran missing you. If you’re that good, brag about other women wanting you,” Mo Xiuchen retorted slowly.
Gu Kai was left speechless, his handsome face twitching, unable to utter a word.
Next to them, Luo Haofeng and Wen Jin couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Qin Mu’s lips quirked up slightly, not going as far as the other two. After Mo Xiuchen spoke, he took out his phone and dialed Wen Ran’s number.
After a few rings, Wen Ran’s voice, soft and tender, came through, spanning the Pacific Ocean, yet Mo Xiuchen felt as if she was right beside him: “Hello, Mo Xiuchen.”
The smile on his lips unconsciously turned tender, and even his eyes warmed, his voice deep and mellow: “Ranran, have you had breakfast?”
“I’ve eaten. My brother said you guys are eating together.”
Mo Xiuchen glanced at Gu Kai beside him, stood up, and walked out of the private room, speaking tenderly, “Yes, we are eating together. How is Zhou Lin’s daughter doing?”
“Her condition has been stabilized, and she has no family or friends here; taking care of a child alone is too hard for her. I just spoke with my brother and thought about having her bring her daughter back to the country for treatment.”
“Okay, so when are you coming back?”
“I’m handling the discharge procedures and had Xiaoxiao call to book tickets for today.”
“Once the tickets are booked, let me know; I’ll come to pick you up.” Mo Xiuchen lowered his gaze to his injured arm, having intended to pick up Ranran after his wound had healed.
Now it seemed, his arm wouldn’t heal in time for Ranran’s return.
Looking at his own arm, Mo Xiuchen’s handsome brows furrowed slightly as he recalled the events of that day.
“Alright, I’ll ask Xiaoxiao and then call you. It’s my turn to handle the procedures now, I’ll hang up first.”
Wen Ran spoke the last half of the sentence very quickly, and through the phone waves, Mo Xiuchen heard urging voices on the other end and didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye before the call ended.

Since Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng had only returned from City C to G City yesterday, they were too lazy to go back to their own houses and stayed at Mo Xiuchen’s home for the past two days, under the pretense of keeping him company, the lonely and solitary man.
On the way back, Luo Haofeng yawned tiredly while Qin Mu stared blankly out of the car window, and Little Liu drove with concentration, the vehicle falling silent for a long stretch of time.
Mo Xiuchen stared at his injured arm for several minutes before finally looking up at Qin Mu, who was gazing out of the window beside him, and said softly, “Ah Mu, Ranran and Xiaoxiao will be home tomorrow. Stay one more day, and head back to A City the day after tomorrow.”
Qin Mu was slightly startled and after a few seconds, turned his head to meet Mo Xiuchen’s profound gaze. He smiled faintly and said casually, “No need, if I go back a day later, my mom will nag one more day; I’d better go back early to keep her company and spare my ears from her scolding.”
“Ah Mu, when you go home, are you really planning to follow your mother’s arrangement, to meet someone for marriage?” Luo Haofeng, who had been resting with his eyes closed, opened his eyes and yawned as he asked.
“Perhaps.” Qin Mu did not care much about his life events; since it wasn’t a woman he loved, it didn’t matter who it was.
A hint of hesitation flickered in Luo Haofeng’s eyes, and with a slight smile, he teased, “The way you talk, it’s like you could marry just about anyone.”
“…” Qin Mu frowned slightly but did not speak.
“Ah Mu, since you’re getting married and starting a family, you might as well choose someone you know well. I think An Lin is a good girl; your mother also thought about matching you two.”
“An Lin?”
A glimpse of depth flashed through Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, puzzled, he took the conversation and turned, his gaze inquiringly looking at Luo Haofeng.
Qin Mu’s expression darkened slightly, “Ah Feng, don’t talk nonsense. An Lin is like a little sister to me, how could I possibly be with her?”
Seeing Mo Xiuchen’s inquisitive gaze directed at him, Luo Haofeng ignored Qin Mu and continued, “Xiuchen, you might not know this, but like Ah Mu, An Lin has never been in a relationship. I think they are quite suitable; girls as good as An Lin are hard to come by nowadays.”
Seeing Qin Mu frowning slightly, slightly angry, Mo Xiuchen chuckled, “Matters of the heart can’t be forced. Since Ah Mu feels nothing for An Lin in that way, Ah Feng, stop teasing him, especially in front of An Lin. It can make things awkward.”
“I’m not joking; I genuinely think An Lin is a good girl. Besides, she… never mind, forget what I just said.”
Luo Haofeng, recalling An Lin’s warning, changed his words just before they left his mouth.
