It couldn’t be blamed on Song Qingshu being flippant; compared to a male assassin reeking of sweat, a female assassin was certainly more refreshing. With his martial skills, he would never have allowed himself to be so easily embraced, but in that fleeting moment, he had clearly seen her curvaceous figure. Therefore, he deliberately let his guard down, allowing her to collide directly into his arms.

As he casually t0uched her, his hands met with warm and smooth skin, and Song Qingshu felt as if he had returned to his youthful days. He was well aware that his actions were rather inappropriate, but… who could blame him for his preferences?

“Miss, are you alright?” Song Qingshu helped the woman up, knowing when to stop. His earlier actions could still be justified as unintentional, but if he continued, the girl was not foolish.

Upon seeing Song Qingshu’s appearance, the female assassin trembled slightly and instinctively took a few steps back, stopping only when her back hit the door.

Her face was covered with a black scarf, but her exposed eyes seemed filled with terror, which left Song Qingshu feeling quite frustrated: “I can’t be that scary, can I?”

“Over there!” The sound of the woman hitting the door had alerted the guards of the Commander’s residence.

Seeing countless guards with torches rushing towards them from a distance, Song Qingshu frowned: “Follow me!”

Without waiting for her response, he grabbed her shoulder and leaped away, disappearing into the night, leaving the guards searching around like headless flies.

“Why did you break into the Commander’s residence at night?” Once they reached a secluded spot, Song Qingshu released the woman.

A complex expression crossed her face, and then she directly knelt before him, bowing: “I pay my respects to the Chief.”

“The Chief?” Song Qingshu was taken aback. He held many identities now, but only those from the Shandong Golden Snake Camp would refer to him this way.

“Lift your head!” He tilted her chin up and removed the black scarf from her face, revealing a delicate and pitiful beauty.

“Wan’er?” Song Qingshu was both surprised and delighted; the woman before him was none other than Jiao Wan’er from the Golden Dragon Gang. “Quick, get up, get up.”

As he spoke, he reached out to help her, but Jiao Wan’er instinctively shrank back: “Please, Chief, have some decorum; Wan’er is already a married woman.”

“Alright, alright, I won’t t0uch you.” Looking at the delicate young woman before him, Song Qingshu couldn’t help but recall the time they had ended up in the bridal chamber due to a misunderstanding at the Golden Serpent Camp, causing his heart to warm.

In the distance, the commotion of the guards could be heard again. Jiao Wan’er frowned slightly and whispered, “Chief, this isn’t a place for conversation; follow me.”

“You lead the way.” Song Qingshu nodded, following her as she wound through the alley. She seemed very familiar with the soldiers’ patrol patterns, managing to evade them each time.

With Song Qingshu’s Qinggong, he wouldn’t have needed to go through such trouble, but following her allowed him to enjoy the sight of her swaying waist and graceful figure, which he found quite delightful.

After an unknown amount of time, they entered a hidden courtyard. Jiao Wan’er turned back and met his admiring gaze, causing her heart to skip a beat. She quickly averted her eyes, peeking outside to ensure no one was paying attention, and hurriedly closed the door behind them.

“This is a secret base of the Golden Dragon Gang. Chief, please bear with it for now.” After lighting a lamp, Jiao Wan’er poured him some tea while speaking.

Song Qingshu scanned the surroundings; the items were clearly those of an ordinary farmer’s home, yet they were tidily arranged and exceptionally clean and simple. He couldn’t help but smile: “Wan’er, you’re overthinking it. Although this room is simple and shabby, with your presence, it instantly feels vibrant and warm. In my eyes, it is a thousand times better than those luxurious palaces.”

Jiao Wan’er’s face turned red, and she couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, ‘This ba$tard really has a knack for deceiving women.’ Of course, she would never dare to say such a thing out loud. She quickly changed the subject, “Right now, various forces are gathering in Yangzhou, and the government is cracking down quite strictly. Therefore, we can only act in secret and can’t make a big show of the Golden Dragon Gang like before.”

Seeing that she was no longer joking and had started discussing serious matters, the frivolous expression on Song Qingshu’s face gradually faded, becoming more solemn. “You’ve worked hard during this time,” he said. He had sent Jiao Wan’er to lead the Golden Dragon Gang’s people to Yangzhou to do preliminary work, so that they could take over this territory more smoothly in the future.

The Ninth Princess quickly assessed that Li Kexiu has no intention of siding with us. She said that if we want to win him over, it might have to wait until the big boss personally makes a move. Plus, with so many matters to handle on the Golden Snake Camp side, the Ninth Princess has returned to Shandong for now and left me here to wait for the big boss,” Jiao Wan’er replied.

Thinking about missing Ah Jiu by chance, Song Qingshu couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of regret. While he had been living freely and happily these days, they had been working hard on various matters, and he felt truly sorry for them.

Li Kexiu was hiding in the military camp, making it difficult to approach him from there.
