Chapter 2383: Chapter 2383: You Were Tricked by Him
“I understand, I can give him an opportunity. But I have to meet the person, I’m not doing charity here, if it’s not suitable, I won’t take it.”
Shu Quan’s eyes slightly lit up, “He’ll definitely be suitable, that boy was illiterate in the past, but after marrying Azhao, he learned quite a bit, working as a staff in your family’s shop will absolutely benefit you.”
Shu Yu, “Call the person over first.”
“Alright.” Shu Quan nodded repeatedly, then looked at the silver notes on the table, “About this money…”
“What, you still want to take it back?”
Shu Quan instantly withdrew his thoughts, and without another word, he went out the door.
Once he left, Ying Xi asked softly, “Miss, are you really going to employ someone from the Shu family?”
“I realize I misjudged Shu Quan, this person is actually more perceptive and smoother than Shu Feng. Before, I thought the way he quarreled with his father, he was probably a rather cold-blooded person. But he is very good to his mother and sister. Before leaving, he was still thinking about finding a support for his sister.”
Does Shu Quan lack money? He does, very much so, even if they restore their hometown status and return to their old home, the travel expenses are not small, these ten taels of silver are enough to cover the family’s expenses for two years, and enough for them to travel back in better comfort.
Yet he still came back.
If Gu Xinghua wanted to be a staff, couldn’t he come to apply himself? He could, if Shu Yu really valued him, she would still employ him.
But Shu Quan chose to personally come and seek this opportunity, he also wants to tell the Gu family before the Shu family leaves — that Shu Yu is still on good terms with them, even if the Shu family leaves, the Gu family shouldn’t bully Miss Four, this job was obtained through Shu Quan, the Gu family should be grateful.
Shu Yu clicked her tongue, “Not surprising, coming from the Shu family, they like to play tricks and mind games in whatever they do. Hopefully, that Gu Xinghua is really how he described, otherwise, I can’t do much either.”
Just as she was thinking about this, Aunt Fang carried the silver ear soup inside, “Yu, Aunt made you something to eat, come and try it.”
“Thank you, Aunt.”
Aunt Fang placed the bowl on the table, “I just saw Shu Quan from the Shu family go out, did he come to you? Is he trying to give you trouble again?” She hadn’t forgotten earlier when they extorted ten taels of silver from Shu Yu under the pretense that Sixth Young Lady hadn’t offered incense to her biological father.
Thinking about the money, Aunt Fang noticed the silver notes on the table.
Hmm? Just about ten taels.
Shu Yu placed her fingers on the silver notes, seeing Aunt Fang’s glance, she said while drinking the silver ear soup, “Shu Quan came to return these silver notes and spoke on behalf of his brother-in-law.”
She explained Shu Quan’s intent and didn’t expect Aunt Fang’s expression to seem peculiar, suddenly slapping her thigh and saying, “Yu, you were tricked by him, I just knew he wasn’t a good person.”
Shu Yu was taken aback, “What do you mean by that?”
“Shu Quan said Gu Xinghua was proper-looking? How is he proper-looking, he’s terribly ugly.”
Shu Yu, “…”
This, is it really that bad?
But Aunt Fang surely wouldn’t lie to her, yet Shu Quan’s aesthetic sense shouldn’t be faulty, and besides, Shu Zhao shouldn’t be willing to marry a man who is both old and very ugly, right?
“No problem, I’ve asked Shu Quan to bring the person over, if he really deceived me, then I’ll kick them out later.”
Aunt Fang nodded repeatedly, went to fetch a broom, ready for action.
Shu Yu couldn’t help but laugh, lowered her head, and quietly finished her silver ear soup.
After she had a little break, footsteps finally sounded outside the door.
