Gate of Revelation

Chapter 840

Chapter 840

“You don’t seem as strong as you used to, Tian Lie.” The man called Dimitri gave Tian Lie a glance before slowly flying down from the roof. It was as though there was an invisible hand carrying him.

“Ma… manager…”

Shamash turned to look at Dimitri and a look of dread appeared on his face, greater than the one he showed against Chen Xiaolian.

“I don’t remember giving you the right to surrender. Isn’t that right, Shamash? What do you have to say to be about that?”

“So… I’m sorry, Manager. I…”

Even though Shamash was still in Chen Xiaolian’s grip, he had still hurriedly apologized to Dimitri.

“You are obviously here. And yet, you threw these cannon fodders over to hide yourself.” Chen Xiaolian looked at Dimitri, casually tossing Shamash aside. “I’ll have to apologize to Tian Lie. I shouldn’t have said those things to him earlier. It would appear that, it was not his deterring power that’s lacking. Rather, your deterring power is too strong, is that right? Hey, this fellow seems quite strong.”

His last sentenced was addressed to Tian Lie.

“Quite.” Tian Lie snorted before nodding. “This fellow… back then, he was also an Inspector in Thorned Flower Guild.”

“Also?” Chen Xiaolian became surprised. “Inspector… you are not the only one?”

“Did I not tell you before? With the exception of the Guild Leader, every other member, regardless of their original position, once they advance to [S] class, they will be promoted to the Inspector position. How do you think Thorned Flower Guild could become the biggest guild amongst the Players? It could, on its own, fight against the many resident guilds of Zero City.” Tian Lie rolled his eyes.

“I never thought about that before.” Chen Xiaolian chuckled. “But that is true. There are seven resident guilds in Zero City and each resident guild is safeguarded by an [S] class. So, there must at least be three or five [S] class fellows within Thorned Flower Guild. Then, about this fellow. How strong is he, when compared to you?”

Tian Lie harrumphed coldly and said nothing.

“Fine, I understand.” Chen Xiaolian shrugged. “No wonder the European branch is so strong. So, there is someone even stronger than you in it.”

He then glanced at the other Awakened ones around them. Following Dimitri’s appearance, they had immediately taken a few steps back and they stood straight with their hands down.

Clearly, this Dimitri fellow was a very strict person in general.

Chen Xiaolian recalled what Aderick told him. Amongst the seven branches of Starfall Guild was an [S] class expert.

This Dimitri was most obviously that expert.

“It looks like the one you want… is Phoenix, right?” Dimitri had his hands placed behind him while his gaze shot towards Chen Xiaolian from beneath his peaked hat, like a stabbing sharp sword. “I can give her to you, that is, if you are willing to join us. Not only that, I will also ignore what you previously did to my guild.”

“You… sure are easy to talk to.” Chen Xiaolian laughed. “Just now, we killed off a few of your guild members. You can ignore that as well?”

“If one is weak, who can they blame? Moreover, once you join us, you will be a guild mate.” Dimitri maintained a look of indifference. “Look, I’m very generous, am I not?”

After saying that, Dimitri raised his hands backwards. Next, a wave of light flew out from his palm to strike a window located on the third floor of the building behind him.

The move blasted away the entire wall to reveal the room inside.

Inside the room were rows of rails. It looked like a prison cell.

Phoenix was seated on a bed made of hard stone, her four limbs shackled. There was shock on her face as she looked at Chen Xiaolian.

“With my identity and strength, there is no need for me to lie to you,” Dimitri said upon seeing Chen Xiaolian move to confirm that it was Phoenix. He then continued, “Hurry up, then. Give me your answer.”

“Better to err on the side of caution. Who knows what kind of person you are?” Chen Xiaolian smiled as he landed on the ground again. “Tian Lie, tell me about this fellow’s character.”

“I can only say this…” Tian Lie snorted. “I may be the one within Thorned Flower Guild who beats up the other guild members the most, but this fellow… he is the one who kills the other guild members the most, regardless of his time as a Team Leader or after he was promoted to Inspector. Me, if I find someone to be an eyesore, I’ll at most just break a few bones. But this fellow… as long as he makes a move, no one can survive. In the entire guild, the only one who can rein him in is Shen. However, yes… he does indeed dislikes lying. The one on top must indeed be Phoenix.”

“So, there is no way to use him?” Chen Xiaolian nodded. Suddenly, he jerked his head to look at Tian Lie and said in a serious tone, “Hey, could it be that you just find him not to your liking so you’re deliberately borrowing my hand to kill him off?”

“Nonsense!” Tian Lie glared furiously at Chen Xiaolian.

“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I’m just joking!” Chen Xiaolian laughed and turned around. Facing Dimitri, he spread open his hands. “You see, Tian Lie has already said it. You are hard to use. So, I can only say sorry.”

“Do you have the qualifications to say sorry?”

Dimitri looked at Chen Xiaolian. His face, which had been as cold as frost, suddenly contorted as it became filled with killing intent. “The one who should say sorry, is me!”

After saying that, his right hand swung to hurl out a wave of light the size of an oil barrel. A long trail of light extended from the wave of light as it flew towards Chen Xiaolian.

Chen Xiaolian did not evade. He simply allowed the wave of light to strike his body, bursting into a massive ball of light.

The instant Dimitri launched the wave of light forward, his figure flashed and he re-appeared behind Chen Xiaolian.

Naturally, he did not think that the one wave of light would be enough to kill off Chen Xiaolian.

Earlier, Dimitri had been secretly watching as Shamash and the others fought Chen Xiaolian and Tian Lie. In the end, it became clear that this enemy was also at [S] class. In fact, this enemy was even stronger than Tian Lie.

Even so, Dimitri did not believe that Chen Xiaolian would be stronger than him.

When Dimitri re-appeared behind Chen Xiaolian, a large scythe had already appeared in his hand.

[S] class sacred artifact, Cronus’ Abyssal Sickle.

According to Greek mythology, it was created by the Earth Mother, Gaia and used by the King of Titans, Cronus to castrate his father, Uranus.

The wave of light was just for the sake of creating an opening. The Abyssal Sickle was his strongest trump card.

When it came to pure personal strength, Dimitri may not be that much stronger compared to Tian Lie. But the sickle allowed him to secure his place in Thorned Flower Guild on the second spot after only Shen.

The sickle swung at exactly the same moment that the wave of light exploded. When the blade of the sickle slashed the air, all the energy from the explosion was sucked towards the blade, seemingly pulled by a certain force.

At the same time, even the space that the blade slashed disappeared.

Everything in the path of the sickle blade, be it matter or energy, would utterly disappear.

Time seemingly turned still. Only the sickle, pure black in colour, continued to swing. In but an instant, it had unleashed tens of blade swings, every swing coming from different directions and angles.

When Dimitri retracted the sickle, the explosion of light had only just subsided.

A high number of spatial tears, packed together densely like cobwebs upon the space before him, were all that remained.

“Shatter!”

Dimitri lowered the sickle and cast a cold glance at Chen Xiaolian, who was standing in front of him.

The spatial tears were completely engulfing his body.

The shattered space would eventually recover, but Chen Xiaolian’s body would not recover alongside it.

This was an attack that could ignore all forms of defence.

Close up…

The cobweb-like spatial tears disappeared. But, unlike the many times in the past, Chen Xiaolian did not fall to the ground.

He continued to stand there. Rather, he was standing firmly, as though nothing had happened earlier.

A set of metal armour had, at an unknown moment, covered Chen Xiaolian’s whole body. A pair of wings grew out from the back of the armour.

“Quite powerful. However, that move, you need to use the sickle in your hand to utilize the move, right?”

Chen Xiaolian turned around to look at the Abyssal Sickle in Dimitri’s hand. “To think that a prop that the system produced could possess such a formidable ability. I did not expect that.”

Dimitri’s eyes turned tense and he hastily backed away. He didn’t even listen to what Chen Xiaolian said and held the sickle with both hands.

Damn it! This fellow… surely, he’s not as strong as Guild Leader Shen, right?

I must… go all out!

Beam after beam of black light emerged from the hilt of the sickle to form a massive ball of black light that enveloped Dimitri.

Chen Xiaolian did not go after him. Instead, he continued to stand there. Shaking his head, he said, “You know, I met someone whose skill is very similar to yours. However… she didn’t need to rely on some system prop.”

After the ball of black light was formed, it began spinning, turning faster and faster.

“You guys.”

Chen Xiaolian stretched his hand out and snapped his fingers, attracting the attention of all the surrounding Awakened ones who were watching the fight. “Look carefully at how your leader will be killed. Then, be prepared to join a new guild.

“Because, from tomorrow onwards, the returned Zero City will once again become a holy land for all Awakened ones!”

Zero City?!

Those two words Chen Xiaolian said boomed within the minds of all present.

That included Dimitri.

The power of the spinning ball of light finally reached its threshold. Next, it left Dimitri, in a manner that seemed both slow and quick, flying towards Chen Xiaolian.

After unleashing the ball of black light, Dimitri sat down weakly on the ground. This all-out move had exhausted all his strength.

But once the move was completed, it would most certainly… kill off this fellow.

With the help of the Abyssal Sickle, the ball of light had locked onto Chen Xiaolian’s position and the distance between them. From the moment the ball of light was fired, no matter how the target tried to escape or evade, they would never be able to escape from the ball of light.

This space-devouring move would completely annihilate the target, leaving not even a strand of hair behind.

“Like I said, I’m very sorry.” Looking at the ball of black light flying towards him, Chen Xiaolian only revealed a faint smile. “But your existence will become a big problem for Zero City. That’s why, I decided… we cannot have you.”

As he spoke, a longbow appeared in his hands.

The bow was pulled and power began gathering upon the bowstring. Rapidly, it condensed until it became a particle that took up zero volume.

After that… release.

Unlike Dimitri, Chen Xiaolian had casually fired an arrow.

But the moment the particle struck the ball of black light, it became like a black hole, absorbing the ball of light into itself and leaving not even a trace of it behind.

After devouring the ball of black light, the particle did not slow down or change direction as it flew straight towards Dimitri.

At that very moment, Dimitri had only just tried to prop himself up.

“You-”

Dimitri’s eyes widened, but he was only able to utter out one word before his entire body suddenly froze.

There was utter disbelief on his face.

The very next second, he transformed into dust, scattering all over the ground.
