Gathering Wives with a System

Chapter 731: Sharing Is Caring, Class Advancement Quest Progress

Isaac remained still for a moment after issuing the command, waiting for his System to respond. Nothing happened, and even after several seconds, there was no notification or change to his status. Alice was still sleeping peacefully in his arms, completely unaware that he had just attempted to share her newly acquired System.

Isaac wasn’t particularly disappointed by the result. After thinking about it for a moment, he realized that the System itself was probably something unique to Alice, just as his own Bonded Blessing System was unique to him. Since there was no reason to keep testing something that clearly wasn’t working, he decided to try another approach.

’System, share everything new Alice has gained!’

This time, the response came immediately.

[Sun Dragon Legacy (Partially Awakened) gained.]

[Limit Breaker (Transcendent+ Rank) gained.]

[Dragon Mana Circulation Art gained.]

[Combat Simulator gained.]

Isaac’s eyes widened slightly before a grin appeared on his face. As expected, this worked in much the same way as Talents, because he couldn’t share the Talent itself but could share everything that had been obtained through it. He couldn’t obtain Alice’s System itself, but as long as he could acquire the abilities and rewards she received from it, there was little reason for him to complain.

Isaac immediately checked the first thing he had gained. The Sun Dragon Legacy was something Alice had obtained from the Cradle, and she had previously admitted that she was still trying to understand how to use it. Isaac had also been unable to share it back then because he had no idea what exactly he was supposed to share, but now the problem had been solved in a rather unexpected way.

Isaac closed his eyes and began examining the legacy that had appeared within him. He spent several minutes slowly understanding the information contained within it, and when he finally opened his eyes, he looked toward Alice with an expression of genuine surprise. The legacy was only partially awakened, so he couldn’t access its full power, but what he could sense was already enough to make him realize how powerful it was.

The most important thing he discovered was that the legacy allowed him to summon a pseudo-Domain. Isaac couldn’t help feeling stunned when he understood that part, because Domain was a power that even the most talented Overlords generally needed years of training to comprehend, and some never managed to reach that level at all. Isaac himself had a chance of using a Domain while still at the Adept rank because of his abilities, and he had already spent a considerable amount of time training with the Sword Empress during their journey toward the Florathi Kingdom.

Yet Alice had apparently gained access to something similar simply because of her partially awakened legacy. The pseudo-Domain wasn’t a complete Domain, but that didn’t make it weak, because it could summon what was essentially a miniature sun during battle, allowing Alice to strengthen herself while giving her attacks the Solar Fire attribute. Even with its current limitations, it was an ability that could completely change the outcome of a battle.

Isaac remained silent for a while as he processed the information.

’This girl... was she planning to keep this hidden from me so she could catch me by surprise?’ he wondered, because it would certainly explain why Alice hadn’t mentioned everything about the legacy.

Even Isaac would be in danger if he suddenly found himself inside a Domain-like ability without knowing what his opponent could do.

Fortunately, he knew about it now, but Isaac decided not to mention anything to Alice. He was happy to obtain the ability himself, but he also felt slightly guilty about learning something she had clearly chosen not to reveal yet. He would simply pretend that he knew nothing and allow her to reveal it whenever she felt comfortable doing so.

Isaac moved on to the next ability and immediately found Limit Breaker. The skill permanently increased his stat limit by one rank while its active function could temporarily increase it by another rank for thirty minutes. With his already ridiculous number of abilities, this increase was enough to push his combat strength even further beyond what it had been before.

’I might actually be able to fight Ascenders head-on now,’ Isaac thought.

He didn’t know whether that was completely accurate without testing himself against a genuine Ascender, but he couldn’t deny that the possibility had become much more realistic. If his current strength could be pushed even further through the skill, then his next few battles would probably give him a much better idea of where he actually stood.

The next ability was the Dragon Mana Circulation Art. Isaac carefully examined it before understanding what it did, and he quickly realized that it was a method of circulating mana through the body that had originally been developed for dragons. Other races could also use it, but dragons could make particularly good use of it because of their bodies and natural mana characteristics.

The technique allowed mana to circulate more efficiently through the body, reducing the time needed to gather enough power for Magic Arts. It would be extremely useful for Isaac and Alice. He also planned to teach it to Selene once she finally arrived in the city, while his other wives could learn it as well if Alice was comfortable with him sharing it.

Isaac finally checked the last thing he had gained. The Combat Simulator appeared simple enough at first glance, but Isaac knew that the ability itself could be far more useful than its description suggested. Interestingly, it didn’t appear directly on his main System screen, which reminded him of his Bonded Blessing System, as even his [Share] function did not appear on his Status Screen.

Isaac decided to test the Combat Simulator immediately. The moment he activated it, part of his consciousness was pulled into another space while another part of his mind remained in the real world, where his body was still lying on the bed with Alice sleeping against him. He wasn’t particularly surprised by the result because he had already mastered parallel mind techniques through controlling multiple clones, so maintaining awareness in two different places wasn’t difficult for him.

Isaac found himself standing on a vast floor covered in white tiles, with the strange starry sky stretching above him. He rolled his shoulders and looked around while considering the people he wanted to fight. There were several individuals he urgently needed to train against, and the Combat Simulator had appeared at exactly the right time.

Mother, the World Tree, the Sword Empress, the Third Priest, Jasmine, and Gael were the six people

Isaac wanted to fight the most. Each of them possessed abilities or techniques that he hadn’t fully understood, and repeatedly fighting copies of them would give him an opportunity to study their methods without putting himself or his allies at unnecessary risk. More importantly, he could learn their hidden tricks by forcing them to fight seriously.

’This came at the right time,’ Isaac thought as he looked around the simulated battlefield. ’I needed something like this.’

While a portion of his mind remained inside the Combat Simulator, Isaac shifted his attention back toward reality. He was still waiting for Alice and the others to wake up, so until then, he decided to check his class advancement progress to pass time. A System screen appeared before him as he focused on the requirements.
