Chapter 1341: Reallocation
Chapter 1341: Reallocation
Sylas looked up from the large tome in front of him as Gwenu stormed in with furious momentum. She was practically like a constant tornado, bringing chaos and destruction wherever she went. Honestly, Sylas had no idea how she kept up this level of energy.
In truth, she reminded him a lot of his little sister—a little gremlin with too much energy and more intelligence than she knew what to do with. He imagined that when Elara grew up, she would be a lot like this.
The thought made Sylas realize it had been too long since he spoke to his family. There was no easy way for him to do so, and any communication devices that worked across such large distances had too many methods of being tracked. In fact, that was part of the reason the Leava had known that the Thryskai interfered in the matters of the Milky Way in the first place.
Part of Sylas wanted to go back to Earth and store them within his Hibernation Realm. The stronger his Profession became, the more like a real world it was becoming as well. Maybe he should really start using it like one.
He even thought about the possibility of placing a powerful City Stele within it and growing it as the center of his world. Maybe that would be a way to dodge the problems that came with being a City Lord, and he would have the best of both worlds like this.
The benefit of a City Stele was too great, just as important as one’s foundation. No, it could even be said that a City Stele was part of that foundation.
Why were Clans like the Thryskai, the Leava, and all the various other powers of the universe so powerful? It wasn’t just because of their Unique Genes and their bloodlines—it was also because of the places they called home.
At the levels of a City Stele that Sylas was used to, you might get boosts to crops, to amenities, things of that nature. But even before Cassarae left Earth, it had to be remembered that Sylas managed to manipulate her City, giving her the ability to produce militiamen with powerful Poison affinities.
This was just some of the smallest benefits of a city. It guaranteed a certain baseline of strength even for inferior citizens, let alone its nobles and the powerhouse bloodlines of its Lineages.
The Sanctum was probably no different. The Clans that controlled the Emperor Lineages probably had City Steles at their beck and call.
Sylas also hadn’t forgotten that he had a Legendary City Stele challenge ticket...
In fact, maybe right about now, the overwhelming might of the Glass City—the very same Glass City he felt he had no chance at conquering—might finally be a breeze for him now.
But even then... that was just a mere Silver City. Conquering a Gold City would be exponentially more difficult than that. And a Legendary City on top of that?
It was safe to say that Sylas had not the faintest intention of touching that Legendary City challenge for a good long while. Even if he faintly thought about it, his Luck blared so many warnings at him he couldn’t even think straight.
There was another problem with trying to build a City in his Hibernation Realm as well... and that was the fact the system had no presence in his world.
Although the creation of the world itself was due to the system, it was fairly hands-off after that.
It had to be remembered also that Professions, according to the current "impotent" system, were based on a ranking from F- to FFF+, or E- to EEE+, and so on and so forth.
That was to say that the moment Sylas stepped into Common Grade and his current Bronze Grade, he was actually stepping into unknown territory, territory that the system wasn’t directly involved with.
If he wanted to connect the system to his Hibernation Realm, create his own World Core and Overlord Races, allowing them to level up and things to this extent...
He would have to find another way to do so. And until now, he had yet to find such a method.
But... he was sure it existed. As for why he was so sure?
It was because he had been through such a method. It was the reason he was here at all.
The Summoned Ascension.
Wasn’t that the process of how a world went from outside of the system’s purview to firmly within it? In that case, all he had to do was find a way to trigger a Summoning within his Hibernation Realm.
If he wanted to prove that Scorpion Emperor wrong, then he had to exist at the fringes of the rules, bending them where he could. That was why he was absorbing as much knowledge as he could, and it was also why he had spent the last two weeks lost in this forest of books.
That wasn’t an exaggeration either. This library really was a forest, where branches became bookshelves and thick trunks became stepping ladders.
If you wanted access to books that were beyond your clearance, then you’d have to prove your strength.
It sounded easy enough to just climb things when you had their level of strength, but this world had a way of making even the simplest things capable of humbling you.
The branch Sylas sat on now, and the very one Gwenu was stomping on with furious rage as she rushed toward him, was actually quite high. Even most E-tiers couldn’t make it here. Unfortunately, he had still not found what he was looking for.
And...
’Is it smart to allow the system into my Hibernation Realm?’
He wasn’t sure, wondering if he should go back to studying more Skills and techniques.
"Sylas!" Gwenu said in a tone that was much too loud.
"Yes?"
"Those bastards, they actually managed to get in! The council had a vote, we have a new Lineage now, dammit! Now there’s going to be a resource reallocation!"
