Chapter 1446: Not in the Slightest

Chapter 1446: Not in the Slightest

Sylas stood in the skies almost arrogantly, or maybe that was just the natural pulsatingaura of his Will itself. So bold and self-confident it practically formed a veil of its own, hanging with the clouds in the dome of the sky.

Even as the ship rushed back, he didn't move, nor seem to care.

The problem with the B-tier's actions was actually twofold.

At the Astral Dungeon rank, the Sector formed a protective barrier of sorts that allowedthose from other Sectors to avoid suppression. This was a contingency that allowedmuch more powerful existences to help out far weaker ones, stopping powerfulDungeon Breaks from occurring.

However, this contingency was obviously only there for those that could be of use. Whywould the system allow a neutral zone for those that were too powerful to enter theDungeon in the first place?

In fact, the suppression faced by those who were especially powerful was even morethan those who were weaker.

Why was it that the Kaelthar had sent Israeal back then? Why not send an E-tier? Nomatter how much suppression an E-tier of the Kaelthar faced, there was no way thatSylas would have been any match for them.

It was because the F-tier was their best chance at staying under the system's radar.

The system was ultimately programmed to pay incremental attention to thingsdepending on how worthy of its time they were. Almost like a computer shutting certainsystems down to save on RAM, it acted with a list of priorities in mind.

Even if it did sense an F-tier interfering with a weaker galaxy, it was more prone toallowing it or turning a blind eye, feeling it wasn't worth the effort.

The other side of that token was that when it sensed something far too powerful takingaction, it just might wipe you out entirely.

The Thryskai Demi-God Clan had learned that the hard way.

This Sector was one that Sylas may have never been to, but he was familiar enough withits strength to know that there were no B-tiers here. It could be said that this Veil HumanB-tier was the only one of this strength tier in the entire Sector, and as such, the thingsthat bound him were much more significant than what anyone else would face.

Even so, the power of this B-tier wasn't something Sylas could face. Just the gentle toneof his voice was enough to rattle him, shaking him to his core. When they first arrived, just a few phrases from the man were enough to forcefully shut down their ship'scannons.

That was why Sylas had another plan in mind.

If the system wasn't paying enough attention, he just had to make it pay more attention.Throwing Alex and Jala into their battles wasn't just about having them fill in the twospots he was missing—though this was important to him as well.

The real reason was to leave the system an anchor in place, an active eye in the skywhere it was still participating in what was happening here.

On the one hand, Sylas needed to break the restrictions of the system so that he couldkill Kraziel and Veyric to stop them from wasting his time. But on the other hand, heneeded the system to be aware enough of what was happening here to stop this B-tierfrom killing him with a single glance.

How did he do that?

By making the B-tier attack.

Sylas' Scorned Wraps had disrupted the senses of the Dungeon. However, he hadn'tdismissed it completely.

Much like his Royal Hero Line, he suppressed it, but he didn't separate it himself entirelyfor obvious reasons.

The moment the B-tier's attack on him was registered, Sylas was sure... the Veil Humanhad suffered an enormous backlash.

He was rushing back, sure. But it was very obvious from his actions that he was riskinghis life in order to do so. And the moment he realized that both of his charges weredead... The ship came to a stop in the air.

There was a flicker around Sylas as his Scorned Wraps stopped their suppression, alarge dome of red appearing around him and the others. However, Sylas' gaze didn'tstop staring at the B-tier's ship.

The moment he had seen the ship, he knew the Veil Humans were a powerful clan ofSpatial Rune Masters. Whatever covert attempts to take his life the B-tier might take, they would almost certainly rely on these aspects.

What he didn't expect was for them to make it even easier on him by using a lightning-based Aether as well. Before his Glassvolt Aether, it was a miracle they could evenmanifest it at all.

Sylas controlled 100 Foundation Aether, the pinnacle of perfection in the F-tier. Therewas no F-tier Aether aside from other 100 Foundation Aethers that wasn't suppressedbefore him. If it was an Aether of the same kind... the suppression was only all the more—

It was quite ironic. Usually, Sylas was the one facing Aether Suppression. It was just thathe dealt with it.

But now he was the one in the driver's seat.

He was a Primus Imperium for a reason.

Although he stared at a ship now, it was as though he was staring through its depths, asthough he could see through all of the protective formations and into the soul of the manseated within.

There was no existence in this world beyond his schemes. If they were going to stand inhis way of saving his family, then they were going to have to suffer for that as well.Would this make him a new powerful enemy?

Yes.

Did he care?

Not in the slightest.

He had a feeling that the forces looming over Earth were enough to make this B-tier pissthemselves. And as far as Sylas was concerned, it was only a matter of time before theywere crushed beneath his heel too.
