Chapter 1461: Browning Gold (2)

Chapter 1461: Browning Gold (2)

[Glassvolt Throne]

[Fragmented Mastery > Common Mastery]

Sylas finally seemed to register the notification. It seemed that he had actually gotten it a while ago, but even after finishing the refinement, it didn't improve any further.

Even so, he was starting to understand the purpose of the Throne. No... he was starting to understand the purpose of the Glassvolt Throne in specific.

This entire Path started from the Throne of Glass. But the Throne of Glass and the Throne of Glassvolt that he had mutated it from were two different things.

The Throne of Glass had two Paths: a Path of a King and a Path of an Emperor—one that took him to be a man of the people, a person whose actions were filtered through the hope and pain of their subjects, versus a person who acted for no one but themselves. Sylas had picked the latter path. Though he saved Earth, it wasn't for the sake of the greater good or a large number of people. It was for his own selfish reasons.

He didn't want to be under the thumb of another's rule, nor did he want his family to have to suffer as a result of his weakness either. He acted for himself.

Even if every being on Earth but his family died, he wouldn't blink an eye or give a damn. The essence of the Glass was to reflect something, whether that was the hearts of the people or the hearts of the emperor who sat on the Throne. But Glassvolt... Sylas' eyes flickered.

The essence of Glassvolt wasn't just to reflect his heart, but to dominate. The core of the lightning itself that came down from the dome of the world... it was punishment of a higher being, an existence that struck down even Gogo's Ancestor.

And now, Sylas was vying for that position, looking to become that man, that Will, that Heaven.

Domination.

The description of Glassvolt Throne said to understand, but was that really what he was meant to do? Or was he supposed to force the world into submission until it had no choice but to open up all of its secrets to him?

[Rewards]

[Dew of Browning Gold] [Browning Gold Elixir]

[Dew of Browning Gold (Elixir Template)]

[A spurt of sunshine and a peaceful mind. This Elixir soothes the soul and tempers the heart, accelerating Comprehension and recovering Wisdom.] —

[Browning Gold Elixir (Elixir)]

[5% Wisdom Recovery per Second][Duration: 1dayl[Clear mind]

The duration of the Browning Gold Elixir, not to mention its recovery, made Sylas pause. The Elixirs he knew of scaled with his stats, but this seemed to say 5% no matter what his Wisdom was. There were no limits on it, and no Grades for that matter either.

Sylas wasn't sure if he needed it at all. He had just spent a quarter of a day in intensive meditation, and yet he still felt good.

However, the Dew of Browning Gold... that was the truly valuable treasure here.

"Clear Mind" was an interesting tack-on of the Elixir. If Sylas was correct, this should be what the Elixir Template itself referred to as a boost in Comprehension, though he wasn't sure if it meant generally, or if it specifically targeted Comprehensions and increased their power.

However, what he did know was that this Elixir Template would be highly valuable in the outside world.

It had to be remembered that a Template wasn't a formula, it wasn't teaching Sylas how to make Elixirs. A Template was a treasure that did something in place of a Profession. Meaning... all Sylas had to do was give this Dew of Browning Gold the materials it needed, and it would spit out more Elixirs on its own.

While the Elixir was useless to Sylas, that didn't mean it would be useless to others. Plus... was it really useless to him?

After a moment, Sylas popped the lid of the Browning Gold Elixir and downed the entire bottle.

A ring of gold appeared around Sylas' eyes and it felt like he had just downed 10 cups of espresso in a single sitting without regard for his burning tongue.

And yet, rather than feeling jittery or high, he felt a smoothness, like his brain had suddenly been well-oiled.

To Sylas' shock, the attention he paid to his body paid off as he realized what the Elixir was doing.

It was making the Effectiveness of his Wisdom 100%.

Suddenly, Sylas was burning his Wisdom at a much faster rate, his thoughts spinning on overdrive.

But as quickly as he was burning through it, the Elixir was also replenishing it.

\.. This is... invaluable."

If Sylas had had this Elixir from the start, rather than six hours, it might have only taken him half an hour or so to refine the entire world.

At that moment, the doors to the safe house opened as the others stepped out to find that the entire Quicktime Event had been cleared. In fact, they too held a Browning Gold Elixir in their hands, though there was no Elixir Template for them all.

Sylas hardly gave them a glance, though, focusing on the feeling within him.

If he could maximize this, then there was a chance that he could manipulate [Madness Control] enough that he wouldn't need an Elixir to enter this state.

If he could do that, then one of the greatest weaknesses of his Dominus Paragon Title— that being the empty Mental stats he had—would be fixed. Well, at least the Wisdom aspect would be.

"This..." Neyara looked around, and was even more shocked to find that Sylas was just sitting on a throne in the air, completely unharmed.

Without a word, Sylas actually turned and left, leaving them there.

The group looked toward one another, but in the end, they simply returned to the safe house. The gap was too large, there was nothing they could do to or for Sylas.

Sylas stepped into a familiar world with dusk hanging on the horizon. He shot into the air and began the process once again.

As he was moving, though, he was far from the only one clearing worlds. In fact, some teams had such brute force methods that the 30 minutes Sylas was now taking seemed ittle more than a joke...
