Chapter 1505 Sloth (2)

Chapter 1505 Sloth (2)

The world slowed around Sylas. In fact, the gap was even larger than it was usually.

He had already noticed long ago that it wasn't that the Sloth was exceptionally fast, but instead that he had slowed down considerably. There was a perpetual domain hanging around the Sloth that made him and everyone he came into contact with especially slow. Usually, Sylas' Temporal Delay Progenitor Flame Ability would be able to blow this out of the water. But this domain wasn't a normal one, even going as far as to infect Sylas' Will as well. Due to that, even his Temporal Delay was compromised, making it hard for him to see the world as quickly as he usually did.

If there was a third party observing this battle, it might have even looked like they were a pair of mortals exchanging fists. To the people of Earth, they might have looked like martial arts experts. But to powerful Level 50s across the universe—or even the weakest of them—they would have looked like they were battling in a vat of thick honey. Restrained to this level, there was too little that Sylas could do. Even his Rune drawing speed was compromised.

Now that the Sloth had increased his power even further, the gap only became more obvious.

The worst part?

Sylas was absolutely certain that the Sloth was only doing this because he couldn't be bothered to use his full power due to the hassle of it all. As such, the Sloth preferred for them both to move slowly rather than forcing himself to elevate far beyond Sylas' own speed.

Just the sheer amount of suppression was shocking. For Sylas, who could cross a kilometer in a few leaps now, to be restricted to the speed of a Level 0 on Earth... that was a suppression far greater than just 90%.

Sylas had never heard of a technique that was so powerful, and it was hard to believe that it came from an F-tier at all—especially since even a +10,000% to his Will couldn't seem to counter it in the slightest.

Or, rather, his +10,000% to his Will only managed to allow him to move about as fast as this.

However, while others might not have noticed this, Sylas had noticed it from the instant the Sloth moved the very first time. And because of that, he knew that if he didn't do something about this, he would lose handily.

The Sloth was already faster and stronger than him even without this domain. If he started to use his real Speed and Strength, and this Domain was active, Sylas would die without even knowing what happened.

Unfortunately for the Sloth, he had waited too long.

Sylas broke it.

Suddenly, Sylas' perception could finally see the world as it was again. The movement of the Sloth was practically slow motion. He could see the roar hanging from the latter's lips, the ripple of his wax-like muscles and flesh, the new growths appearing on his body or preparing to form at a moment's notice.

Sparks of electricity burst along the soles of Sylas' feet as he slid down to the ground. He caught himself, his body bleeding out from the hole in his chest as a complex mesh of Runes was laid out onto the ground, spreading with Sylas as their center.

[Unbridled Domain]

Lightning shot out from the corners of Sylas' eyes in a continuous streak of bolts. There was a flash, and silvery scales coated his body, a halo instantly healing him back to full health.

He took a single step and exploded forward, his Speed orders of magnitude faster than the Sloth.

BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG.

Sylas unleashed a barrage the likes of which their battle had never seen, his stats fusing with Nosphaleen's in a perfect blend of power and utter, complete destruction.

The Sloth's body deformed, his bones splattering to paste under Sylas' barrage as a Scorpion Tail descended from above, piercing right into his neck.

BOOM.

An explosive shockwave erupted from the Sloth's head, taking half of his skull and nearly the whole of his chest.

Sylas erupted in a single go, his Glassvolt Aether and Chaotic Space Aether morphing into blades that cut the Sloth into ribbons.

The sudden reversal was so violent the Sloth lagged in replying, unable to do anything as Sylas suddenly swept him off his feet with a strong kick to his knees.

The Sloth flipped in the air, and Sylas' Scorned Wraps roared, forming a sea of bandages and chains that wrapped around his body and then slammed him down. BOOM.

Sylas retracted his Scorned Wraps, standing there coldly with a look of indifference on his face. His body brimmed with power, pooling in waves that peeled across the room. There was nothing left of the Sloth's body, and why would there be? Sylas had picked him up and thrown him down. It wasn't Sylas alone who had destroyed him, but the Scorned Wraps themselves.

[Quicktime Event Triggered]

[Ode to Invincibility]

[Level Recommended: 50]

[Description: It has been many cycles since the last Primus Imperium has appeared, but on today's great day of days, we have been blessed with not one, but two. Auspicious as itis, the Tower of Champions can only have one True Champion, a single true Hero.] [Event Type: A Twist of Fate]

[Clear Requirements]

[Kill a Primus Imperium and claim your place as the single True Champion]

[Quicktime Event Cleared]

Sylas looked at this screen, not feeling much of anything.

Something was wrong.

[Primus Imperium (Conquest Title)]

[Undefeated now and into forever. Untouchable, unmarred, unblemished...]

[ignore Suppression <2> Tiers above your own]

[Form Will <1> Tier above your own]

[Wield Aether <1> Tier above your own]

[Absorb Genes <1> Tier above your own]

[Use Class <1> Tier above your own]

His Primus Imperium Title hadn't evolved like it should have. So how had he cleared the Quicktime Event?

Sylas turned his head to the side, and the wall warped as a piece of wax appeared and then began to bubble.
