Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1571 Exactly as Planned

1571 Exactly as Planned

The situation in Sylas' body was very odd. Even now, he felt like he had a rough understanding of what a Royal Hero Line was, but still not a full grasp.

It was wild to say this, especially since he had literally built the foundation of an A-Grade Race thanks to it, but the more Sylas thought about it, the more natural he felt it was.

His Grimblade Clan wasn't guaranteed to stay A-Grade. Just because they were A- Grade now didn't mean that Sylas couldn't slip.

While he was fairly confident in maintaining himself as an A-Grade Human Simioid as an E-tier, whether he could do the same in the D-tier or beyond was still in question.

Other Races didn't have to worry about this, but that was because Sylas had gone about things in a completely unconventional way. How else would he have built an A-Grade Race with F-tier foundations?

What was the point of saying all of this now?

It was actually because of Sylas' Dao, the vague comprehension he had come to during his City of Glass battle.

What was a Dao? What had the comprehension led to? What changed?

Sylas had not a single clue.

He felt surer in himself, more focused and controlled. But his stats hadn't changed, nor had anything about himself changed.

Yet, he simultaneously felt doubly as powerful.

This was mostly an illusion, probably a self-confidence brought about by the fact that he had built his Foundation on the Virtue of Pride.

But there was real, tangible change to his strength as well. He was at least 50% stronger.

It was like he had experienced the benefit of perfectly comprehending all of his Core Stat Legendary Genes again. His stats didn't change, but their effectiveness was off the charts.

Sylas could already battle those with far greater stats than himself, but now he felt he was even more assured in doing that.

But it seemed that Sylas had just allowed two things he didn't fully understand to come

to the forefront. What was the point of these thoughts if they weren't leading to any conclusions?

And therein lay the secret.

They weren't meant to come to a conclusion.

How could a mere F-tier complete a Dao that would lead them to the S-tier?

How could a mere F-tier complete a Bloodline that could lead a group of individuals into the A-tier?

It was absolutely impossible.

The moment Sylas grasped his Dao, it was like there was a small yet substantial shift in the way he viewed the world.

There was no need for him to waste time doubting his own bloodline anymore. It was his own; he had made it with his own hands at this point. The Grimblades of now couldn't be considered to be the Grimblades of the past at all.

Ironically enough, for the first time in his life, Sylas' lack of understanding became his strong suit.

He didn't need to understand every little detail right now. What he actually needed was to trust the foundation he had already laid.

With his Pride to lead the way, it would shine the light ahead.

Equally as ironically, the reason Sylas was so sure of this was because there was one

thing that he did understand about the Grimblade Bloodline.

It was built to devour Wills.

To sever and to cut, to consume and to swallow.

When this power was led by Pride, it was akin to giving wings to a tiger.

And as compatible with his original Will as the Grimblade Bloodline was...

It was even more compatible with his Demonic Will.

Moose didn't know what was happening before it was too late. It was like his body was completely sucked dry.

The Gluttony Seed thrummed within Sylas' body, far stronger than it had ever been before, but clearly having taken a back seat to something far more powerful than it.

It was highly compatible with Sylas' Grimblade Bloodline. But to Sylas... it would always be secondary.

Secondary didn't mean that it was weak or neglected, though.

Sylas closed his eyes, feeling the cadence of the new Will within him. Memories of Aki's mutated Tiger Emperor Armor flashed in his mind continuously.

Then, a bridge began to form from his Monkey King Armor, his Grimblade Bloodline, and this new Will.

He didn't want to create a new Armor; he didn't care enough about all of this to do so far. Instead, he was forming a proxy with his Monkey King Armor, allowing it to take on the burden of becoming a Demonic Envoy in his stead.

The number of Demons Moose could control was limited. It was restricted by his Tier, by his Will's strength, by his Will's Grade and quality... When these same abilities were given to Sylas, the hard-capped ceilings Moose had been facing were little more than fragile glass tiles to Sylas.

He ripped through them one after another.

The Minotaur King was only just stepping out of his castle, only just making his presence known. With his strength, it was likely that even if Sylas went all out, bringing out everything he had, the odds of success would be little more than 10%, if that.

The Minotaur King was a reminder that there was always a taller mountain out there. Sylas might have defeated a C-tier before, but this was a pitifully weak C-tier of this Milky Way Galaxy.

This wasn't a D-tier he could face with any sort of ease. To say that his life would be on the line was an understatement.

It was too bad that Sylas already knew exactly how all of this would play out the moment he stepped foot into this World of Demons.

He raised his head to the skies and unleashed a roar of his own. The skies shook, and for a moment it felt like there was no sound in the world other than his own. It made Moose's earlier roar sound like the whimper of a kitten.

Hair of emerald gold began to line Sylas' body, a crown etched into his forehead becoming more and more prominent.

The Minotaur King's eyes glazed over.
