Chapter 1703 A Little Chaos
Chapter 1703 A Little Chaos
The explanation that Analei had given him couldn't have been simpler.
Someone with their Aether bound to their Will. Or, in other words...
Willborne Intelligence.
When Sylas saw this, he realized that he had no such thing. Was he really a Cryst Emperor? Or did he just have a convenient Class that allowed him to cosplay as one?
Maybe to say that he was cosplaying as a Cryst Emperor was correct, because his reliance on his Aether could be said to be quite pitiful. His use of his Aether went as far as activating his Skills and no further.
But when he was reading about this Salivar's battle achievements, every one spoke about him using his Aether as though it was an extension of his limb. In fact, he used his Aether a lot like how Sylas used his Will and telekinesis. There was a world of difference between the two of them in how they performed, even though, technically speaking, because Sylas was capable of crafting his own Aether from his Runes, he should be a far more flexible Cryst Emperor than Salivar.
But he wasn't.
'Willborne Intelligence... is there Willborne Wisdom? And if there is, why should it stop at Mental Stats alone? Is there Willborne Strength? Constitution? Dexterity? Speed? And how do I get it?'
Sylas' gaze flickered, and he chose to ask the Virtue Madness Key. However, the response he received was completely out of his expectations.
[The answers you search for are not available in this Heaven]
Sylas had never received such a response before. Had he touched on Taboos before? Yes, he had. But he had never seen the Madness Key say that it simply didn't know.
And from what this answer implied, it seemed that he would have to travel to other Heavens first before he could even learn.
But this made little sense to Sylas.
Wasn't this Heaven the Heaven of Will? That was supposed to be their strongest stat, from his layman's understanding of the Heavens and how they worked.
Why would he need to travel to another Heaven to find out how to bind something to his Will? Shouldn't the Will Heaven have every one of these answers?
Why didn't the Skai Heaven have all of the answers?
Sylas paused for a moment. The Skai Heaven should want you to focus on your Will. It sounded like binding all of your other stats to your Will should do exactly that. So why... 'Dao.'
A sudden thought interrupted everything else Sylas was considering. Without the need for the Madness Key's answer, he felt like he had come to the most accurate conclusion.
Willborne Charisma was something that he had gained as a function of his Will progressing forward. Of all the stats, Will and Charisma were the most tightly bound to begin with. Naturally, Willborne Charisma was probably the easiest of them all to gain.
That was to say that even subconsciously, so long as Sylas reached a certain threshold, he was bound to gain Willborne Charisma.
However, the other stats would be far more complicated. He couldn't just stumble into them, he needed something to guide them.
What was interesting about this conclusion was the details behind what led him to gain Willborne Charisma in the first place. Yes, it was because his Will had progressed to a new level. A Marked Will, to be specific.
[Title Upgraded]
[An Enlightened Will > A Marked Will][A Mark... in history its meaning is amorphous, hard to grasp, and yet so very real. Your Will has... A Mark... in the present it tracks, it controls, it suppresses. At this level, the world has no choice but to pay you heed. And that is not always a excellent thing.] [+2000% Will]
[Willborne Charisma]
If he stripped back the description of A Marked Will, it reminded Sylas so much of the feeling he got from a Dao.
Maybe it wasn't a true Dao, but it was a small, little, budding one-one that was strong enough to be acknowledged by the world, but not quite enough to stand all on its own.
'Amorphous... hard to grasp... yet so very real...'
The more Sylas thought about it, the more sure he was. The key was a Dao.
And in that case, the key to binding his other stats to his Will should, likewise, be his Dao.
But the question was... how?
Even if Sylas had all these deductions and explanations, he honestly wasn't sure.
Maybe Salivar would shed some light on the matter.
Sylas stopped thinking, allowing his mind to rest. His breathing became even, and slowly but surely, he fell into a deep sleep. He knew well that how well this next week went would decide the fate of quite a number of things.
How exactly he would target and deal with Salivar sounded to be up in the air, hanging high above as though an illusory dream he hoped to solve in the future.
What he did know was that killing Salivar was the least of his problems-dealing with the fallout would be far more important than any of that.
As far as Sylas was concerned, then, it was probably about time the Purvon Clan be useful.
Since he had been used to help them gain Demi-God status, the least they could do was take this on the chin, no? He was sure that they would be amiable to it.
That only left how he would corner Salivar. The A-tier Purvon definitely wouldn't help him in this matter. While the Seeing Eye Guild was only a Quasi Demi-God threat, the Purvon weren't real Demi-Gods just yet. There was still an onboarding period, and it would still take dozens of generations after that before they truly filled in those shoes.
So, pissing off the Seeing Eye Guild like this wasn't something they would do willingly. Though, Sylas would happily help them in this regard.
Luckily, Fanelei's information and the appearance of a Gluttony Disciple Candidate had given Sylas quite the idea.
What world didn't need a bit of chaos?
Sylas had never had such playful thoughts in his entire lifetime, but right now, there was an excitement deep in his heart he couldn't explain clearly.
Remembering that ceiling of crimson lightning, his blood boiled.
He finally had something to live for.
