Chapter 1709 Natural

The female elder who spoke originally closed her eyes and sighed. She didn't seem angry about being rebuffed the way she had. If anything, she felt that it was maybe only natural.

The man was right.

This was a Quicktime Event, not a Quest. There was no time for maneuvering. The fact they were even meeting right now instead of just sending their best F-tiers at Sylas was already living on the edge.

The system was allowing it for now, maybe because it felt like Sylas had chosen his timing, so to level the playing field, the Seeing Eye Guild should have some time to gather itself as well.

But this could only go on for so long.

The fact this was even allowed just went to show how unfair the world was. When had Sylas ever gotten the chance for a breather before being thrust into a Quicktime Event he had no choice but to participate in?

That said... Sylas had also personally triggered his fair share of them as well.

The silence amongst the elders felt even longer-lasting this time, grating on their souls.

What would they do?

They didn't even have a Salivar amongst their F-tiers. If it had been just a year earlier, maybe they wouldn't have hesitated to say swim. But who would they send this time?

The best of their current F-tiers was one of the blue, three-eyed trolls. Ironically enough—or maybe it made perfect sense the man who spoke to cut off the woman was exactly amongst the Royal Blue Troll Race.

Many might assume them to be Demons at first glance, but the Royal Blue Troll Race was known for their frigid, cold blue blood and Aether-producing third eye.

This chill in their blood had nothing to do with their Aether affinity, though many took the Path of the Frost Giant nonetheless. Instead, it was a quirk of their Unique Genes, essentially allowing them to use their Aether Pathways as though they were made of rubber, running several channels for Skills and techniques at the same time.

Usually, when this happened, one would either rip their Aether Pathways to shreds, or-even if they managed to survive they would overheat and deal damage to themselves over time.

This wasn't something that Sylas had ever been aware of because he had never attempted to cast two Skills at the same time in this way. He subconsciously understood the danger. Then, by the time he was in a situation to even try, he had become such a powerful Rune Master that it was easier to mimic the casting of multiple Skills through Runes than through his Aether Pathways.

Regardless, the Royal Blue Trolls had exceptionally robust and elastic bodies that always ran cool no matter what stress was put on them. This also made their stamina ungodly... especially since they were able to use their cold blood to compress and store Aether in a near-solid state.

Every step they took was incredibly heavy as a result, and it could be replied that they were magical tanks of an unstoppable variety.

They were easily amongst the strongest A-grade Races in all of existence. So, one might imagine that they had great faith in even their F-tiers, even if said F-tiers weren't monsters like Salivar and the other Cryst Emperors were.

However, aside from the obvious reasons already mentioned, they still had no confidence. They didn't know this Sylas Grimblade, but the fact he was an F-tier produced that make sense.

In their minds, if Sylas dared to come here, it was because he was easily the equivalent of a Cryst Emperor to the Weaver Guild. In which case... Were they asking for humiliation?

And there was that faintest of worries at the back of their minds as well.

Since the Weaver Guild dared to do this, did it mean that they already had a contingency plan for how to deal with all of this?

"It seems that there is no choice, then." The middle-aged woman spoke again.

Once again, several gazes landed on her with a light of hope.

There was a reason that every time this woman spoke, they reacted like this. As harsh as the Royal Blue Troll's words were, the prestige of the woman didn't take a single hit. That was because her past spoke for itself.

And Salivar was also one of her many grandsons. In fact, Salivar wasn't the third Cryst Emperor of her line-a completely unheard-of feat, and something that tipped the balances of their three main Clans in a way it never had before.

"Salivar has succeeded in something that I would have liked to keep quiet for much longer, but since it has come to this, we will simply reveal it now.

"In fact, if this goes well, we can use it as a springboard to return to the Cryst Heaven and avoid any fallout here at all. Not only would we escape unscathed, but we can snatch a Demi-God Clan slot from the Skai Heaven and shift the balance of power. When the next Heaven War takes place, the Skai Heaven may no longer have a place in the skies."

All at once, the heads of the Ancestors snapped toward the Ancestor of the Entrim. Succeeded? Succeeded in...?

Could it be what they were thinking of?

"My grandson's laziness is usually the bane of my existence, but it seems that this time it is to our benefit. He has only brought one of his Paths to E-tier. But there are two others that he has not."

The words were akin to a bomb going off within the ancestral hall. They all looked toward this woman with burning gazes, a remembrance of why she was so respected surfacing one after another.

The father of all of her children... he wasn't from the Skai Heaven.

He was from the Cryst Heaven.

And now she was telling them that Salivar wasn't just a Dual Class existence he was a Tri Class existence.

No, not just a Tri Class existence.

A Natural Tri Class existence.
