Chapter 1805: How Many? [Bonus]

[Chaotic Menace (Class Upgrade Quest) (Legendary)]

[Quest "Chaotic Menace (Legendary)" Completed][Clearance Level: Legendary]

[Rewards][> Chaos Mantle][> Chaotic Sovereign (Gene Class) (Legendary) (E)]

Sylas reached forward as the world around him shook. His body seemed to light on fire, plumes of smoke wafting from him as impurities were flushed away.

It was only the transition from Level 50 to Level 51, and yet it felt like everything was changing as a result.

The world bent and whined, and the Duchess' eyes couldn't help but widen. Was this indeed a person just going from F-tier to E-tier?

Of course, if she had her full slate of memories, she probably wouldn't care to be so shocked. All she had for reference were people in this world, individuals that were heavily suppressed.

But even so... if one were to compare an S-grade Race to Sylas, the gap was likely too big to have resulted in this sort of reaction from the Duchess.

However, Sylas was no longer concerned with this by any great margin. Now that he had Reaper Sealwright, it was only a matter of time before he made up for all the ground he lost.

Right now, he no longer needed to chase the absolute perfect foundation. He instead needed to find a way to strike a balance between unearthing his foundation and potential to the greatest extent possible, and moving forward.

If he didn't excavate enough of his potential, then he would be too weak to continue making the best use of Reaper Sealwright, and his other advantages would fall by the wayside. In addition, whatever resources or successes he would certainly need to have to complete what Reaper Sealwright asked of him would be too far away if he was too limited in his immediate ability.

But by the same token, if he didn't improve or remained too stagnant, he would never be able to understand Reaper Sealwright at a high enough level that he would be able to take advantage of it to the fullest extent in the first place.

Sylas had long decided that he would progress faster from now on. It was just a matter of how fast.

That answer would be decided by how quickly he could continue to build out his Human Simioid Race and his Grimblade Royal Hero Line.

However, more important than any of those two was his Rune Mastery.

The moment his Rune Mastery achieved Void Mastery in a given tier...

It would be time to move on.

And it was only a matter of time before he achieved this with the E-tier, as not long ago, he had already reached Spark Mastery.

A small black box landed in Sylas' palm as his aura continued to surge. He entirely ignored the City Stele in his own hand, even when he felt the raging Demons below who were already rushing toward him as fast as they could.

A Demon City's City Stele was surprisingly very similar to what he had seen in the Real World. While this was curious to Sylas, he didn't care about it enough to spend a substantial amount of time on it. Instead, he was far more interested in what this so-called Chaos Mantle was.

[Chaos Mantle (???) (???)]

[Those born in Chaos are destined to be the enemy of the universe. The Sin of unpredictability is one that existence has been running from for as long as it has Been. To control, to suppress, to dictate progress—these are things the world has always sought, denying its very own nature.] [To take a step forward on this path is to accept your status as a harbinger of chaos, a state of perpetual hatred wrought by the universe itself.] [Should you accept, you will be granted a true second set of Aether Pathways.]

Sylas read the description twice, feeling that it was odd. The Chaos Mantle didn't seem to be a treasure at all, despite the fact it spoke of granting him a second Aether Pathway.

Sylas already had a second Aether Pathway, but he had gained it in an odd and peculiar way. It was more so a fake set, almost illusory in function, and it made it difficult if not outright impossible to use both sets of his Aether Pathways at the same time.

Unfortunately, like with most things he tended to receive, this came with strings attached. He just didn't quite understand why.

Originally, Sylas got his Chaotic Simioid Gene Class after upgrading it several times. He used the Great Ape Race of Earth because it was the closest to his Human Race as an added help to bolster it.

He had spent a long time trying to decide what his second Class should be after gaining a Dual Class Constitution, and he had decided that since his Glassvolt Mancy Path granted him such strong Intelligence, it only made sense for his second Class to be more brute force in nature.

The fact he was a close-combat expert only made it more appealing.

The Great Ape Race was a relatively benign and unimportant Race of Earth. They were decent, but they certainly weren't on the level of the Dogons or the Clypsians, let alone the mysterious First Race of Earth.

They also weren't Monkeys, so they shouldn't have any strong connection to the Monkey King or the Pride Madness either. Though, there was obviously an overlap Sylas couldn't deny.

Even so... once again... it shouldn't be strong enough that the Chaotic Sovereign Class he had would be asking him to all but betray the world he was in.

How many different things would Sylas have to anger before he was finished?
