Chapter 1820: She's Mine [Bonus]
Chapter 1820: She's Mine [Bonus]
[Meikai Azurex (DDD+)]
[Level: 137]
Sylas' eyes threatened to explode once again just looking at this line. He couldn't even manage to see the rest of it.
'This Meikai broke my control over Spacetime.' Sylas thought.
After a moment, Sylas slowly rose to his feet. This made things more complicated.
As the chains of black fell onto Meikai, Sylas slowly rolled up his sleeves.
There was a reason he needed so much preparation just to fight Serpentes. Logically, he should have been able to suppress these F-tiers by 100% and make them immediately obedient. The same was true of E-tiers now. In fact, Vipermancy was strong enough now to have a strong debuff effect on D-tier Serpentes now as well.
But... Sylas had learned long ago not to take the stats the system gave him at face value.
Sure, if it was a Common Serpentes, this battle would already be as good as done. But Beasts were an intelligent race of creatures themselves. They would have their own methods of ensuring that they weren't enslaved.
Even the F-tiers could resist Sylas' Vipermancy despite it being Level 100 now. In fact, if not for Reaper Sealwright, he wouldn't even be able to use Contract Echo either.
After seeing how difficult it was to use Contract Echo on the F-tiers, Sylas wasn't even confident in doing the same with the E-tiers. That was especially so since he didn't have the same mastery over the E-Grade Life and Death Seals as he did the F-Grade ones.
But before he could even test it, a D-tier had appeared.
It seemed that the Azurex were quite serious. This wasn't a normal D-tier. In fact, it was probably the best D-tier amongst them all.
Even after the Demonic World Chains fell, Meikai growled in response as though she didn't feel the pain at all, a violence lighting her eyes as her gaze landed on Sylas.
'This will be a bit troublesome.' Sylas thought as he finished rolling up his sleeves.
His hand reached up into the skies and the Hollow Wing vanished, forming a streaking light that fused with Sylas in a single bound.
Silvery scales coated Sylas from head to toe, a radiant power blooming from him.
Chi.
Sylas coughed and a mouthful of blood drizzled down his chin. A crack appeared in the Beast Totem to his back.
Meikai's Will was so strong it nearly collapsed on impact.
But, Sylas held on, and the Beast Totem healed, causing Meikai to sway backward, almost losing her balance entirely.
ROAR.
Meikai roared, a spiraling cyclone of shattered space appearing before Sylas in the blink of an eye.
With a tap, Sylas vanished, activating [Hollow Burst]. His Scorned Wraps pulsed with life.
Due to Primus Imperium, Sylas' Will barely reached the D-tier levels, combating against the waves of power coming from Meikai. But it was clear that whatever level Meikai's Will was at, it didn't lose out much to Sylas' at all.
But when it came to raw Will stats...
They weren't even in the same league at all.
The result was Sylas being faintly suppressed. Without the Demonic World Chains and the Beast Totem, he would have already collapsed, his Will shattering and his life scattering.
'So this is a God Beast.'
Even wrapped in black chains, her movements heavily limited, Meikai made Sylas incredibly wary. But Sylas still didn't take the initiative to attack. Not quite yet.
He was waiting.
Where were the others?
The wide-open portal pulsed and wave after wave of Azurex began to pour in. Their scales reflected such a pure, beautiful white, right down to a gorgeous reflective blue. It looked nearly like a winter wonderland was forming in a series of slithering snakes. But instead of it coming with a chilling cold, there was instead a suffocating heat.
A crackling sound continuously echoed in Sylas' ears almost like a radiation detector was constantly going off.
Every one of these Azurex was a walking supernova.
The one thing they couldn't stop Sylas' Vipermancy from doing was understanding their lineage down to the smallest, minor detail. He knew how powerful they were... And as their numbers increased from dozens to hundreds, and then hundreds to thousands, and then from thousands to tens of thousands... The pressure Sylas faced as a result was mind-numbing.
The only reason they stopped was because the Hibernation Realm was on the verge of collapse. If it did, then everyone within would die. They wouldn't make such a sacrifice.
They felt they were above it.
Helena let out a manic laugh. She didn't dare to hope, what was left of her sanity holding on by a string. She couldn't even find the energy to laugh at Sylas. The real reason she was laughing was because she was realizing just how right Sylas was.
She was nothing.
Any one of these God Beasts could kill her with a glance, and yet they were just the background characters to someone else's story. Whether that was Sylas' story, or Meikai's... only time would tell.
But it wouldn't change Helena's story at all.
From the very beginning, the Duchess had been here, but she hadn't said a word, not even to say something to the spawn. But standing there, she also didn't seem to react very much.
In fact, seeing this sea of God Beasts, there was something that triggered deep within her... Pride.
As though somewhere deep within her ancestry, she was just now remembering that she deserved to stand on such a battlefield. She deserved to be here.
And then Sylas finally looked back at her.
"They..." Sylas pointed toward the army. "... Are your responsibility. Kill them all."
The Duchess' eyes narrowed. "I want to fight her."
The Duchess pointed toward Meikai, but Sylas looked away and all the Duchess could see was the broad flex of
his back and the six wings of the Hollow Wing.
Sylas' aura blazed, a crown appearing high above his head.
"No." He remarked calmly. "She's mine."
Sylas vanished with a single flap of his wings.
