Chapter 2061: Sure
Chapter 2061: Sure
Fanelei immediately felt like Sylas was insane to do something like this. She knew exactly who he wanted to go after, and that wasn't someone you could deal with casually. There had been no news of the man's death in all this time, and that was despite the fact he had been exposed as a Madness Disciple and was currently being chased probably more than Sylas himself was.
Plus, he was that strong before he integrated Sylas' Madness Key, which had been pushed to a truly high tier by Fanelei's spirit back then already. Now that he had it, he was probably an order of magnitude stronger than he was back then, and that was only assuming he hadn't improved in tiers at all.
Something he very well might have already done.
However, Sylas didn't care about any of that. He just wanted to stretch his legs a bit and repay a debt.
Reaching forward, Sylas grabbed the fluttering Gluttony chain.
When a Virtue was formed, every disciple that had not reached the pinnacle would be erased from existence. It was what happened when Sylas formed his Pride Seed.
But Sylas had yet to allow a Virtue of Gluttony to be formed. His third Seed was the Virtue of Greed he had claimed from a definite Scorpion's body.
By now, though, the Glutton was probably very close to becoming a True Gluttony Disciple, erasing the path for everyone that came after him. And as someone who was following the True Path, unlike the Rat and the Boar, he would be able to display real power as a Madness Disciple.
It was something definitely worthy of praise.
And it was also something that Sylas would be snuffing out.
Sylas felt his mind practically implode with pressure as the Madness Key bucked against him. Feeling that someone was trying to take advantage of it, it reacted in kind.
Too poor for this Sin of Gluttony Key, Sylas had not one, but three Virtue Madness Keys.
What right did it have to buck against him?
'There.'
Sylas sensed every single Gluttony Disciple currently active all at once. What surprised him was that the number wasn't nearly as large as he expected.
Before he had assumed there would at least be hundreds. In reality, there wasn't even a single dozen.
There were exactly seven of them, eight if one included the newly minted Leia. However, the power of each one...
Sylas immediately felt three gazes turn to him at once, Wills so powerful they could have sundered the skies themselves pressing down on him.
Three S-tiers.
"Piss off." Sylas said coldly.
Their Wills had far too far to go, and Sylas' own Will wasn't that of a pushover.
This was fascinating, though. Everything that Sylas had been through suggested that this made little sense. The Madness was all-consuming, and if it wasn't, they should have already reached the pinnacle.
So how was it that they were S-tiers, but Gluttony still didn't have an official disciple? That didn't seem like it made much sense at all to Sylas.
But then he understood.
They were all like Fanelei. They didn't want to become consumed by Gluttony, they wanted to use it to supplement what they already were.
Fanelei had only failed because of what was presumably interference from Nobel, and maybe she had been a little bit too ambitious. But this was no coincidence.
If three of the seven Gluttony Disciples there were across the entire universe were S-tiers, that was a nearly 50% hit rate of something that was nigh impossible for most people.
It seemed that he had underestimated Madness Disciples a bit. Or, more accurately, he had misunderstood how the smart ones used an opportunity to become Madness Disciples.
Sylas bet if he checked the other Madness Keys like this, it would be similar. And that also meant that the Disciples of Pride he had pissed off... well, they probably weren't all that easy to deal with at all.
It seemed he had pissed off S-tiers without even stepping into the Demi-God Plane just yet. What else was new?
Sylas shrugged off this realization as though it didn't matter much, his mind focusing until he found exactly who he was looking for. Unlike the S-tiers, this one didn't notice his probing senses at all.
"Here." Sylas said, projecting his understanding of the Glutton's location right to Yamero.
"This isn't too far. It's possible."
Sylas nodded. Likely to better hide and because he was being chased, the Glutton had decided to stay around the territories of the Weaver and Seeing Eye Guild. He was only a few galaxies away.
The exact location, though... that was more troublesome.
Sylas sensed quite some volatility around it, but the truth was that if you were going to hide, this was probably the one place you could.
"Are you sure that you don't want support?" Fanelei asked.
"Only if I go personally and alone will the outcome be what I need it to be." Sylas said calmly.
What he meant by that, not a single one of them knew. But what Fanelei did know was that when it came to Sylas...
it was often better to simply listen to what he had to say.
To the side, Malikhi and Hoffman only just realized what was happening, a shock shaking their hearts.
How were they supposed to reconcile the fact they were meant to kill Madness Disciples on sight with what was happening right now?
No... how had Sylas crafted a Madness Disciple from thin air in the first place?
None of this made any sense, but before they could even grapple with it, a pulsing wave of spatial control came from Yamero and then Sylas was gone.
"... Fanelei, what is going on here?" Malikhi asked slowly.
Fanelei sighed. "Malikhi, you've chosen to hop on this ship. Ride it through to the end and you won't regret it. That is the only thing I can tell you."
"But this..."
"I think you're smart enough to know that the Thryskai have been making use of Madness for a long while, no?"
Malikhi's eyes narrowed and then he fell into silence. After a long while, he looked toward Hoffman and nodded.
