Chapter 2066: Count
Chapter 2066: Count
Sylas' eyes flashed like lightning, arcs of emerald and violet shaping within them.
The Will of this creature was on a level he had never seen before in a single entity. The First Race had been powerful, but they were using formations of countless people and also relying on the black mountain. As for Hell's Will strength, it had been muted and restrained within his body, so Sylas hadn't been able to make it out.
But the Will of this beast was able to take Wills and forcefully compress them into a single being.
No, not just a Will, but the sea of complexity that was an entire world. A simplified world-that being the Dungeons -but a world nonetheless.
Not only did it force them to fuse, these Dungeons were now in a state where they had no choice but to act as though it had constantly been one from the very beginning, forming a Dungeon so powerful it should have never appeared in this plane to begin with.
This strength, it was one of the abilities of a World Serpent taken to an extreme.
This creature was obviously far more limited than the World Serpent. Whether it was the time it took to get to this point, or the fact it was only swallowing quasi worlds, or even the fact it didn't seem capable of reaping all of the benefits for itself and had to wait for outsiders to clear the Dungeon for it, it was a wholly inferior creature.
But when it came to how well this creature could give them the opportunity to benefit from all of this...
Now that was something the World Serpent could not do.
A silver and black ring danced in the wind on Sylas' earlobe.
It seemed he might need to go all out for this.
Not just the Dungeon. That was secondary to him right now.
This ability... it sounded like an ability the Grimblades should have.
He was missing something, a kernel of something more special to properly lay the foundation they would need to step into the S-tier one day.
And now he was pretty sure he had just found it.
Sylas took a step toward the gates, forgetting about the Glutton for the time being. He was sure the man wouldn't be able to give up on this opportunity either the moment he realized no one stronger was coming.
But by this point, the Cryst Emperors were more than just a small bit tired of being ignored. Sylas had hardly spared them a glance, even after they spoke out his name.
The Royal Blue Troll with Salivar's people on his back appeared before Sylas in an instant, but his fist swung at nothing but air.
Mendy had been the closest to the location of the portal's formation, and he had thus been the first to reach it. But what he didn't expect was that Sylas crossed space as though there wasn't a restriction in the air at all.
He sent out a strike and then stepped into the portal calmly without looking back.
An elbow slammed into the very same location Sylas' earlier fist had landed. Mendy's eyes bulged, feeling an entire half of his ribcage skewer one of his lungs through as he was sent flying into the distance and crashing into the very same location he had before. The only saving grace was that the mountain that had once been there was nowhere to be seen.
Deuvuo blinked and looked at Juxi. "Do you think he did that on purpose?"
"Huh?"
"I'm thinking this Sylas guy has a pretty good sense of humor. He just hides it with that stick up his ass."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Forget it. You wouldn't know comedic genius even if it wore a strap on and demanded you to fuck it."
"If you don't want to die, you will all stay here." The Royal Blue Troll who had spoken to Sylas earlier said coldly. There was something faintly tinged about his voice that would have reminded someone of Old Earth Russian.
Juxi had been mostly lost in her own thoughts, spiralling. But when she heard this, her fury seemed to be sparked. "This isn't your Cryst Heaven, mongrel." She growled out through gritted teeth.
"Now, now, queen bee. Don't antagonize the poor man. His body's so big his brain can't move all that mass around and think properly at the same time. You're asking for too much."
"It seems you two have a death wish." The Royal Blue Troll said calmly. He didn't seem particularly enraged that Sylas had entered the Dungeon first. He was sure that many others would after they did. But to ignore his words... that would come with a price.
"Death wish?" Deuvuo grinned. At that moment, he looked particularly devilish, his red skin growing a deeper shade of crimson as two of his three eyes closed to allow the middle one to shine the brightest.
His forehead seemed to grow taller, his veins popping with a bright gold.
"You know, I've never fed on a Cryst Emperor before. How many bites do you think it would take me to finish you up?"
The Royal Blue Troll sneered. "It's good your Skai Heaven has a little bit of backbone. If you just broke at a little prodding, this wouldn't be much fun, now would it?"
"Hohoho, you've been scurrying around like little rats for so long, now you want to puff your chests?"
The Royal Blue Troll didn't falter. "Remember the name. I am Alpine. I am the 17th of the C-tier Cryst Emperors. I alone will be enough."
"There's no need for the 17th to do much of anything," a Sachi said with an amused, almost lustful smile. "The 22nd will be enough."
"Maybe not even that will be necessary." A Golmara spoke. "The 31st will be enough."
"Isn't that so cute, queen bee, dear? They can count. Do your alphabets next, I'll have a nice little cookie for you."
